I can't remember Tommy Burns that much, but my grandmother supports Celtic, and we were chatting about them once, and she said Tommy and Walter were both cut from the same cloth. Absolute gentlemen, and great friends off the pitch, and nothing but respect for each other! 💙💚

@@RANGERSAries-so8px I'm 43 and Tommy was my hero ,fellow ginger lol ,but was exactly same as Walter way they both loved there clubs,yes be 90 mins of rivalry HUGE .....but Walter got Scotland job and instantly him and Coisty were his coaches. ....they guys rangers to the core but carried Tommy into chapel ......idiots of this generation fr both fans need to realise this ....all the best

I was just hitting my 20s when Walter took over from Souness and coming into my 30s when we did 9 in a row, what a decade that was, it was truly amazing. Thanks for all those great great memories Walter Smith, what a man!! Watp Rtid 🇬🇧

I remember when it was announced that Souness was taking charge at Rangers. I thought, what a superb move. Little did i know that the guy he brought with him was an absolute master stroke. Kudos to Souness!
The day after the defeat to Hapoel Tel Aviv I was airside in Ben Gurion Airport waiting for my flight back to Heathrow when I noticed the team was also there.
I went up to Sir Walter and politely moaned about the poor performance, he looked me straight in the eye and agreed that it wasn’t good enough and followed that up by even saying sorry to me.
It just proved all the more how he genuinely cared about the supporters, he just oozed class, a true gentleman and a true legend.
An absolute legend. Well done Rangers for such an inspiring tribute to Sir Walter Smith. Rest in peace from your friends in Northern Ireland 💙💙

Grew up in the 90s, glad to say I was alive to experience this Legends reign as Manager. This is a hard tribute to watch knowing how things are these days for Rangers and the future.

I still can't accept that he is gone. I've not been back since he left the club. The standards haven't been the same since. My words for him: Iconic, legendary, the GOAT, a winner. What else can you say? The statue is amazing, I hope everyone loves it and understands the magnitude of Rangers.
Rest easy Gaffer. We can never say enough to thank you for what you did.
