Vectors - The Cloning Vehicles
Vectors are the DNA molecules, which can carry foreign DNA fragment to be cloned
Once the desired fragments of DNA are obtained, they are inserted into a suitable vector (carrier molecule) to produce indefinite number of copies of genes.
This is known as gene cloning.
They are self- replicating in an appropriate host cell.
Vectors are of the following types
1) Plasmids
2) Bacteriophages
3) Cosmids
4) Artificial chromosome vectors
5) Expression vectors

Very good presentation... Can I know brief about Expression Vector... I seen that it was not given video...
Thanks.
Expression vector is generally a plasmid that is used to introduce specific gene into a target cell. It is usually designed for gene expression in cells. Hope it helps 😊
wah amazing concept great thanks stay blessed sir
Realy superb class sir❤️
Sir please explain DNA fingerprinting and HGP of molecular biology please sir...🙏🙏
Sure dear
Amazing teacher😇
Thanks a lot
@@Biochemistrybasics you are most welcome, teacher.
Sir, Can you please explain briefly about YAC?
Yeast artificial chromosomes (YACs) are genetically engineered chromosomes derived from the DNA of the yeast.
It is a human-engineered DNA molecule used to clone DNA sequences in yeast cells.
They are the products of a recombinant DNA cloning methodology to isolate and propagate very large segments of DNA in a yeast host.
By inserting large fragments of DNA, the inserted sequences can be cloned and physically mapped using a process called chromosome walking
Tq sir
😇🙏

Hi dr Amit.how did u fixed ur ads?my old account is same thing of the problem of yours
Hey. I wrote to UA-cam regarding it through community forum and sent feedback thrice.
Very nice 👌
Sir sorry for asking a query, plasmid and episomes are not same....they are different
Helo hi!may you please give me types of vector based on categorywise.am james from Tanzania university of dar es salaam
Sir assignment r babe hobo ne ?
Sorry?!
