Absolutely gorgeous land, wildlife and park. I notice a difference in your videography skills. A work of art. The grizzly with 5 cubs, the bison, the swan....you are becoming more artistic even though you may not care. I appreciate this gift. Even appreciated the irony of the annoying people at the end. LOL Thank you , Stan Mills for this visual gift.....from Canada.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. Bear jams are always entertaining because most of these people have come a long way to see a bear, and when they do, they throw all caution to the wind because they are so excited.
@@StanMills Hate to say it but I remember the excitement as a child for my family to drive to the dump to see the bears pick over the garbage. My family and I always read many books on wildlife. Watching the bears, there was often one person, always a man, who would get out of his car and attempt to hand feed the bears in front of all of the spectators is their cars. Of course I would never participate in this type of a scene now, but it was a different time then. We were thrilled to see the bears, as you stated.
@@heather-cz8yk I, too, remember this exact scene in Yellowstone back in the 1950’s. People were feeding bears and a bear cub walked up to my 5 yr. old brother and bit his closed hand thinking it held a treat. My brother wasn’t hurt and it made our vacation a memorable one. Watching the bears eating at the park dump was like watching a movie!
Oh how I loved this viewing!! The beautiful grizzly & cubs, buffalo & elk. The scenery magnificent! Thank you so much. What a great responsibility we have! ❤
We actually saw her around 6:30-7am from the roadside, she was way up on the mountain side. Your video is the best one I’ve seen, thank you for sharing.
I didn’t know it was possible for a momma bear to be able to support so many cubs. Be very surprised if they all survive, they’ll need some serious good fortune these next few weeks and months. What a great catch Stan. Stay safe.
@PKShader Yes you're thinking of #399 who had a new single cub only in 2023 when she emerged from her den. The cub is named Spirit. This year 2024 her cub is well into it's second year (having likely been born in Jan in the den) and sadly, bear #399 recently was accidently hit and killed on the road. 😥 It was purely an accident and the driver was very sad to know it was such a famous and beloved bear. There was no malice intended. They think because her cub was well into its 2nd year and a single cub, that it stands a very good chance because of it's large size and Mom's undivided attention and teaching how to be an independent bear. She famously emerged in the late spring of 2020 with the 4 cubs, not 5 at age 24. By the end of the season in 2022 well into their 2nd year, she parted ways with them and bred before entering her den to emerge in 2023 with Spirit. This sow is a different one with the 5 new cubs. I hope that helps ❤

We just got back from our Yellowstone, GTNP, Black Hills, TRNP trip. The bear jams were ridiculous! I was disappointed though that I missed 399 & Bonita (different times) by a half hour when we went by.
Hi Stan, as you know I love your videos and I know it’s wrong to envy, but I come pretty close when I see these!! Quick question, if you have the time - I’m not sure of the Yellowstone regulations, so if you wanted could you just pitch camp anywhere along these trails and spend a night or more? If so, how safe would you feel (with grizzlies afoot)this time of the year or late summer/fall doing just that?
You cannot camp anywhere. You have to get a backcountry camping permit and camp in a specific campsite. I have always felt good and sleep well camping in Yellowstone. If you camp outside of the Yellowstone boundary, then you can basically camp anywhere without a permit.
Thanks Stan for allowing us to see something we never would have. Be safe out there.
Thank your for making these videos that show nature at its most basic level...without any graphics or music/sound effects.

I was a park ranger naturalist in summers of 71 and 72 at Canyon Village- thanks for the chance to relive the memories of this beautiful land.
Seeing five cubs is insane. What a find.
Its very uncommon for them to have more than 3. So seeing one with 5 is incredibly cool.
Sadly, maybe only 1 or 2 of them will survive. This is why grizzly bears need protection, their survival rate is extremely low.

This delightful cadre of cubs is sure to make Bear 399 even more record-breaking than she already was!
What an amazing b sighting! Glad all went well and you’re safe. Nature is beautiful.
What a beautiful video. Was it early in the morning? Mama was so nice about it!
About 6:30 am
I enjoyed seeing all the animals and the surrounding environment they inhabit. Great hike!
We just got back from our Yellowstone, GTNP, Black Hills, TRNP trip. The bear jams were ridiculous! I was disappointed though that I missed 399 & Bonita (different times) by a half hour when we went by.
2:18 very healthy world class sow grizzly w/ cubs
Did she adopt one or two of them? Serious question. Any obvious indication that one or two might not be hers?
Thank you for sharing this A grizzly with 5 cubs that's something to see
