- Hiking the Bighorn trail early morning is always amazing. If you go slow and quietly you almost always spot a lot of amazing wildlife. This grizzly is magic in the way it seemed to reappear 20 minutes after the first sighting. This was a beautiful spring day in Gods beautiful creation.

Thank goodness for our National Parks 🌲🌲
And for Stan! What a serene and beautiful jaunt. Thank you!
THAT'S HOW CLANDESTINE BEAR VIDEOGRAPHY IS PERFECTLY DONE!!!
Well that answered the old question if a bear sh!ts In the woods. Great video
Still looking for a video to confirm if the Pope is Catholic....
@@rdcowan99 not the current one.
Proofs in the pudding 😮
Fantastic footage Stan. All of your videos are appreciated, and especially enjoyed this one.
Beautiful park and great filming of the animals. Thanks for sharing.
You are so lucky to be able to do what you do...I am entranced with the YNP footage each time !!Thank you
I think that is the same bear also . Very nice hike you had to enjoy hopefully the last snow!!! Loved seeing the birds and great pictures of the grizzly thank you god bless you
What a scenic and serene walk with the bears and wildlife. Thanks for taking us along Stan! 🐻
I love the video. Thank you for taking me with you.
It would be nice for me if Closed Captioning was enabled for these videos. I can’t hear too well and can’t understand most of the audio narration. Only time I visited Yellowstone was about 15 years ago during this same week. 70 deg daytime temperatures the whole week. Seeing this fresh snow - I guess we were really lucky.
I will try to remember to figure out how to do that but I really don't talk very much. Thank you for your comments and suggestions.
@@StanMills I am not sure myself, but I think when publishing if you pick English - United States and the option - never aired on TV it automatically enables viewer to enable CC. Something like that.
I use my closed captioning on my TV for the same reason!
Yes please. I am also hard of hearing 😢
That sure looked like the same bear Stan! Wild coincidence if there just happened to be a second jet black bear in the bottoms parallel to you that even had the same walk. Wild stuff
Another great video! I love the sound of your feet in the crunchy snow - wonderful AMSR :)
How Bout that Spring Snow!! Good Tracking Weather for sure. Always a pleasure Stan to go Trail Blazing!!
Your videos are so much FUN to watch!! Thank you so much!!
@@pamelacameron5320 thank you so much for watching. Have a great day.
Outstanding video Stan ! Enjoyed it immensely. Narration and video quality were top shelf. Prayers for your continued good health & safety. I envy what you do.
Love your videos. So relaxing with your soothing voice!😊
This video was so beautiful thanks for taking us along. I was thankful you doubled back out of respect for the bears territory for as much as we love these videos we worry about you too!!all the best to you...❤
Beautiful bear, great video, thanks for sharing !
Yes, a bear does poop in the woods😂 Phenomenal video! 😎☕️
Wow! Thank you for this awesome video! 👍🇨🇦😎🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
I love your videos Stan. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. 😊
Wow! I was just in Yellowstone in mid May, totally missed all that snow! Amazing video! God's creation is spectacular!
Nice walk in the park. Good to see a new video Stan! I know you have equipment to deal with but not a fan of hiking poles?
I am local but not as local as you I would assume and I have 30+ years of hiking the park. Any more lost without my sticks.
Nice video Stan!! I looked out my window this morning and saw a black bear. They usually go through at night. First one I've seen in the morning (9am) in over 20 years. He ran away when he saw me.
Nice to hear about your bear sighting. You must live in a great area.
Yes it's peaceful. I think you have us all beat with the beautiful scenery of Yellowstone though!!
Magical
Love this video. Loved hearing the sandhill cranes.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸
Like a poem....beautiful..... I'm wondering; Have you ever gone all the way up to Gallatin Lake from this trailhead?
I was there that day. Saw a black bear. They scare the crap out of me. Love your vids
Beautiful video. Greetings from Sweden
another great video!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Best one ever Stan! thank you & continue to be safe!
Did you hear about the Massachusetts hiker that got attacked by a Grizzly Sow in GTNP. Always sad to hear. Had his bear spray on his backpack (shaking my head). And was hiking in a closed off area.
Thankyou Stan for the vidios . I save them to watch .
You are truly one yhat knows this great animal and has respect for it .
How was the dnow pack this year .?
Utah got alot in the high mountain s but its melting fast we are dry .
Take care .
Loved this, Stan. Thank you! The beauty of spring snow and the wildlife is wonderful.😍
What a beautiful video thank you Stan! The park looked magical with the spring snow.
I have so much respect for you and the way you change dyour plans and turned back . Two thumbs up.
Wow, that answered the age old question, hahaha. This was a beautiful morning, great sound if the wildlife. Late snow. I had friends traveling thru last week told me if the snowstorm then. Snow hiking us not my favorite, but I kive the beauty. Always great vids
Beautiful Sunday Stan
Awesome video, I'm not brave like that.
beautiful
Beautiful walk.
I went from West Yellowstone to the Grand Tetons then to Lamar Valley on that same day (my birthday trip) the bears where really active. I seen 9 Grizzlies and 3 Black Bears. I'm sure that was more than just one Grizzly you saw. That video also.
It look like the same bear to me. I’m glad to see that you stay at least 200 yards away, and use your zoom lens on your camera. In one of your comments, you referred to the same female grizzly bear. Just wondering, how do you know that the bear is a female?
Not easy. Maybe my best guess.
That was most definitely a gorgeous hike. Do you recognize individual bears?
Yes, some times I do. I have not seen this bear here before.
Stan, I don't think it's the same bear. The coat is the same color, but first one looked fatter to me. Your perspective however, is probably more accurate. Super cool bird sightings tho!
I’m going to use this silent approach with polar bears around here. I hope they like it!
That bear knew you were there.
How do you know that? Just wondering....
If you know what kind of birds or other animals you have on your videos I'd appreciate you saying what they are. Thank you. Your videos allow me to see parts of Yellowstone that I'd never be able to see due to health issues that I have.
Fresh grizzly dumplings 😅😅😅
Those turkeys in the end looks yummy
Looks too cold for almost June
Stan is always teasing grizzlies
And yet not a Turkey was seen in this video!
Nice Video Stan 😶
Great video Stan! How often if ever, do you see folks out on these trails you take?
Normally see some one on a trail later in the day.
Great episode Stan. As always appreciate your commentary on what you see, what you think is going on…
(Looks like it would have been a nice peaceful walk if not for the *%#^ing Canada geese who never shut up in my experience)
How dare those geese make noise to disturb you
🗽Today the squirrel in my garden and some birds with young birds made a lot of noise... when I checked what was the reason I saw a predator, the cat from my neighbour. 😎 Not a Grizzly, but nearly the same.
Are Grizzly bears sneaky. Will they sneak up on you? Like circle back to find you but pretend they are doing something else?
I have never felt like one was sneaking up on me. But I have watched them get off the trail and go around people. That has happened to me many times because I see the tracks on the way back (I observed one going around me one time also). I have also had grizzly tracks on top of my tracks following behind me but I have never felt like a bear was stalking me or anything like that. The bears know people use the trails also and they are just going the same direction.
@@StanMills I love that. I watch the Brown Bears at Brooks Falls, Katmai, Alaska and they seem to walk right past humans. Thank you. 😊
Enjoy all of your videos, Stan. You know, I wonder if part of the reason why you may see the same bear traveling in the same direction as you are going, away and then seeing it again, is because it knows the trail you are on and besides you, many other animals would use that trail, for ease of movement? Maybe a "highway of meals" along any path in Yellowstone that the bear keeps in mind? Just wondering.
Well the bear didn’t use Charmin after its morning poop, lol
The bear likes to hike with paparazzi.
Love your videos Stan. Did you do the drawings at the end? They're wonderful
Yes. You can send me an email and I will send you a PDF file with information. Thank you.
@@StanMills I'll do that. Thank you
Will be camped along that trail in 3 weeks. Hoping the wildflowers will be nice like last year.
should be a great time for camping. You will have a great time.
How was your camping trip?
@@StanMills After seeing the forecast for the snow and cold weather I canceled the permit. I will try again next year when my schedule will be more flexible for weather - as I will be retired. 😊
Sorry to hear that. Even though there was snow one night, it quickly melted by afternoon and the weather was amazingly nice. But it is smart not to take the chance. It could have gotten amazingly bad. Weather reports in Yellowstone are never very accurate.
My usual plan on that trip is to backpack in and then do day hikes from camp - one day to Fawn Pass next to Bighorn pass. Last year I think I was the first hiker of year up both of them judging from lack of other tracks. There was a big avalanche that swept trees across Bighorn trail prior winter. On Fawn pass trail last year I came over a ridge and in the green meadow below there was a group of about 10 cow elk and four calves just relaxing in the sun. Watched them for about 20 minutes with my binocs before the guard cows picked up my scent and led them away. I have also picked up (and left) many obsidian flakes along the trail showing it’s been traveled by people for a long time. Always something new to discover.
How far was that bear from where you taking a video?
200 yards at closes point
Have any idea what a bear does when it detects your recent tracks, does it smell you, have you ever felt a bear was stalking you?
Please add closed captioning. I'm hard of hearing and can't hear very well.
Stan does that bear know you are there?
Is it wise to track a bear hunting a large Moose in the wilderness without a rifle?
Still snowy... few more weeks and I'll be a part of "the ecosystem" too.
You could tell that it was still cold because of the "crunch" of the snow.
🤩🤛🙏😎👍🦅🇺🇸
what equipment do u use for video?
It is in the description.
I thought they hibernate in winter ????
Go visit Big Boss in Alberta
Stan, great video as usual. But I wish your videos were shorter.
Hi Stan, another great one Are you still using an SX-70 and go pro What would you estimate your distance from the grizzly while filming?
All those questions are answered in the video description. The distance at the closes point to the grizzly was about 200 yards I think.
Maybe the bear is a Stan Fan.
Sorry Stan, I asked about distance before the video was complete
How can you tell if the bear is male or female from a distance like this?
My best guess usually.
