Dylan Talks Tone Recieves Commision From Some Of These Links - Розваги
Have been using this in a punk band for the past few months and I absolutely love it.
My little mod project. I just picked up the Sonic hardtail strat single humbucker in black. I ordered it directly from Fender along with their double tapped patent applied for humbucker. I actually don't see anything much wrong with it as is. I'm especially impressed with the neck/body fit because it's absolutely perfect. The body is routed HSH.
You can fit full size pots and a full size blade switch in it and it's routed for a neck humbucker too.
That is a heck of a lot better than my first guitar was…I wish I would of had that as a first guitar👍
I just bought one. Very excited to mod this. Thanks for sharing.
Great guitar. Perfect for the one pick up player. Since it’s cheap, buy 2 more as backups if you’re playing out often.
Great guitar to start with. Looking forward to this project.
I know I’m late, but I just bought this exact guitar just to mod and mess around with, but I have to say that this thing plays like a dream. I own American PRSs, Gibsons, and fenders, but I pick up the $200 tele every day. Obviously, you can upgrade to better components and hardware, but I didn’t feel I NEEDED to. The only mod I made was changing the pick up to a Seymour Duncan JB only because I had already bought it expecting that I would need to change it.
I have one coming tomorrow ... can't wait !!!
We got my grandson a Squier Strat for Christmas. The frets were little razor blades jutting out of the neck. The tuners were all loose (easy enough to tighten them down but come on...) and the action was super high. Luckily I was able to spend some time with it to set it up and get it playable but if some kid was getting one and didn't have anyone to help him with it he would have been very disappointed. I should say though - it sounds pretty good so at least they got that right.
Looks cool.
I've always wanted a Esquier to get my " Luther Perkins " on.
His didn't have a humbucker though?
Good rundown as usual Dylan.
Thank you!
Mine should be here tomorrow along with some Grover locking tuners, a graph tech nut and Seymore Duncan nazgul to metal it up a bit
I bought a sonic sunburst strat and beside a couple of cosmetic issues, it turned out to be a great player!
I grabbed two of these a purple one and white one ,One of them was set up nicely intonation was spot on and nut was cut properly..But the other was not set up and the nut needed fixing ..After changing the strings they play well and stay in tune with no problem ..I prefer the laurel fingerboard over the maple , it feels more substantial to me . The pickups sounded far better with new strings also ..the strings are absolutely garbage..It’s routed for a humbucker under the Pickguard . The fretwork was good on both , just a light polish a good wipe down and some oil. I was surprised at how good these are for the price it’s definitely giving some lower end brands a run for the money.
I have high end guitars but I still love Squier, they are so much fun
Dude! Bourne's mini pots are legit! Do that, an Orange Drop and a Switchcraft jack, there you go!
I do want to get one of these and it would get a GFS Surf 90 ( favorite cheapo pickup).
I saw these the other day when they put them on blast messaging. Seems like a pretty cool guitar to mod or for a newby.
Nice guitar, and some nice playing.
The neck on my Squire 60’s Classic Vibe HSS is killer good.
It's good enough, although the strings are mounted through the top. I play mine almost daily.
unboxing videos sell guitars I love em !
It's a Sonic Esquier Squier, looks tidy and sounds great for the price.
😊I like unboxing videos it's fun and the anticipation of it
Would love to see the difference if all you did was swap out the ceramic magnet for an alnico 5.
@DylanTalksTone or anyone on here, what are the dimensions of the bridge (the entire plate) and also the string spacing? I contacted Fender and was literally told to go to a store and measure it myself. Seeing as my local stores don't have one, I was hoping someone could help me out here.
I have been checking out some Squiers locally and the fretwork is immaculate. I don’t know where all this Fender QC issue talk is coming from. Definitely no problems here in Japan.
Over the past few years I bought two Jackson JS (entry level) series $200-$300 range guitars. One came with a bad (unusable) tuner out of the box. The other had a bad truss rod. Jackson is every bit as much an FMIC product as Squire. What do I want for the $? Something that works of the box until the warranty is up at least. $200 is a lot to spend on things that do not work. If you can’t even offer just good enough for the price, don’t sell at that price point.
My Squier VM 70'S Strat fretwork is as good as any of my other more expensive guitars.
No complaints at all.
It’s hit and miss. My Squier Classic Vibes Bass guitar had bad frets and the neck is ok but not great. It’s a little on the crappy side. However I keep it because it sounds really great
I gave it away years ago, but one of my fastest guitars was an Indonesia Squier Strat. I had the action less than 1 mm at the 12th fret across the board no buzz whatsoever. My more recent Squier project (China) I had to spot level a few frets to get it to an acceptable level. I will eventually do a full level and crown, but I paid $60 so I can't complain too much. I think that if more guitar stores would commit to setting the Squiers up properly to begin with, they'd be neglected less.
Gateway Drug, Got it. We Learned This In School; It Was Called D.A.R.E.
Whats the routing like on these things? Can we put a REAL telecaster bridge pickup in there?
Why would you want to buy this guitar if you wanted to put a REAL telecaster pickup there? Why not just get a REAL telecaster 😒🙄
Looks like a good deal to me.
279 in Canada at L&M
Our beloved Canadian Peso at work…
Knife handling, "Dont get bloody, cut towards your buddy..."
I have a squire stratocaster left handed all my nine guitars are left handed I been playing and singing over 50 years I can fix guitars also I never change any pick ups there all fine
I don't care what these so called experts say about how much different the expensive guitars are it's ALOT crap I know from long time experience and the prices they want for the expensive guitars are REDICULOUS
😂 very nice guitar
Maybe this is Fender’s answer to the Baretta Special.
Why oh why have fender never made a hardtail strat ? When you read about people like Eric Clapton wedging the standard setup, why has fendert never done it so?
Or use these Guitars as a "knock around Guitar " if it gets a ding or 2 ...wont matter
at the very least, if you want something to mod without dropping a fortune on it, it could be great for that.
$409.00 AU
Ive been playing 40 odd years.
Just ordered one...

A good guitar is a good guitar.
& telecasters had single pickups in originally.
Actually from a steel guitar.
I would have liked to hear how it sounded clean…
I played it clean.
Scratching my head, buy a tank of diesel fuel or guitar???
