Hi, where did you buy those strings? Great video, was planning to buy one myself too and mod it.

Thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate it. The strings are DR Neon Strings. I think I got them from Amazon but I imagine you can get them from most places that sell guitar strings like Sweetwater or Thomann.

@@jeffreymartinez5829 Hi, thanks for your reply. I've tried this string before but the coat for 3,2,1 goes off every strum lol. Was that the case for you as well? Looks sick on your guitar btw.

@christianjosephcunanan2870 Yes, the coating on all the strings came off quickly. I bought them for the visual effect, but I've since gone back to my EB Slinkys. That said, the DR neon strings work pretty well for bass too and the coating doesn't seem to come off as fast. Maybe because the strings are thicker. Thanks again for the compliment!

You didn't mention any difficulties so is it correct to assume the neck replacement went well and was a good and proper fit???
I know these Sonic models have a slightly thinner body (front to back) than an actual Fender or even many of the other Squiers so I was a bit doubtful about a replacement neck even working at all on the Sonic line guitars. Does the neck heal stick out more or is it odd or uncomfortable?

Great questions! I did not have any difficulty with the replacement neck. Fender and Sweetwater's sites both state that replacement Fender necks are meant to fit Fender and Squier models. True to the description, the neck fit perfectly without any issue or adjustments needed on my end (although I did have a setup done once the build was completed). The neck I chose effectively just increased the scale length to a Baritone 27". I also vastly preferred the maple fretboard on the replacement neck compared to the laurel fretboard on the stock neck. I grew to like the high gloss finish in the neck and fretboard, but it's not a feature I seek out for other builds. Did I miss answering any of your questions? Cheers.

The pickups in these are garbage. The JB is a great choice, especially for rock and metal. I had one in mine for awhile and I changed it out to an Invader recently. I'm not sure how I'm feeling the invader though. The JB might go back in it. Those Fender maple necks are fantastic. If you're not used to a glossy neck, it's a bit foreign at first. I own several CV's and I love that glossy fretboard. If you find the glossy neck on the back gets sticky, take a green 3m scratchpad to it just enough to dull it down and it'll be nice and silky. If you ever decide you don't like it like that, you can buff it back out to gloss again with ease.

Thanks for all the advice! I appreciate it. You're right, the gloss all over the neck is a bit foreign to me (especially at that heavy degree) but I'm growing to like it. I'll probably always have a preference for satin necks, but trying new things is great. Thanks again!

no they are not it has the tele twang without the noise most pickups I’ve come across don’t have that definition or sound weak of course if you want four conductors then change it there’s only 2
