"The best time to start playing a fighting game is ten years ago. The second best time is right now, so just do it."
What a legendary quote that was.
I think the issue is when you're still new "fun" is not losing or at least not getting rocked back to the stone age
Yeah I guess so. I've played a ton of fighting games so when I go to a new one like killer instinct and there's nothing but killer ranks I get my ass kicked but it's also fun. I'm learning what to do and after awhile I'll improve. Also I think that won't be a problem with this new guilty gear game as everyone is getting used to it. Besides previous guilty gear players maybe, it could be completely different though
You can learn the basics of fighting games in Divekick. It literally only has the basics. Sadly nobody plays it online.
Or footsies the game
9:36 Why my mans laughing like Goku tho
It's crazy cuz Its spot on
@@JoeyGotDaForty It reminded me of when goku was watching vegeta and broly fight
i'm kinda disappointed you didn't say "Dormammu, I've come to bargain." everytime you fail a Dormammu combo.
When me playing smash has made my fighterz gameplay worse as I keep trying to sheild with triggers
😂 Dormammu was actually one of the best characters in Infinite
Smash teaches you a lot of 2d things. Reading your opponent, timing inputs (buffer/end lag), defensive play. I hop games almost every few weeks, while being primarily a smash player, and I've almost never had trouble. I learned mvc3 considerably in just 5 days with self taught knowledge. People need to let "easy" go
So I just saw your last combo video, and I wanna say that the problem with Infinite is the roster and the art style of the game, lets be honest its ugly.
Gameplay wise I'd say its better in almost every aspect. A lot more freedom in the combos and you dont have to deal with X Factor
Tbh I don't have the roster I just think they should've just been open and say "we can't add xyz". I feel if that was all they said it wouldn't be as bad because part of what was so bad was the whole function logic
Well said the best time to start playing a fighting game was 10 years ago the 2nd best time is now
Hey jmcrofts I'd love it if you tried the Johnny combos on Guilty Gear Rev2!!
Really enjoyed the video, cheers
Can't wait for Doctor Strange!!!! Him and Dorm are my boys.
The team in the state of grief known as bargaining
Tekken 7 really is a good fighting game for beginners. You have to know how to deal with spammers though.
Best beginner fighting game for real, Fantasy Strike. That game is god damn genius about how it teaches you to play fighting games.
Yo when he said the best time to play fighting games was 10 years ago, i was like facts. I fuckin felt that one cause i didnt start till 4 yrs ago but i knew back in the day there was a lot more fighters and a bigger fgc community (involved with everything not just online playing)
Power Of The!!! Power of the!! Power Of The Creator!!!
Seeing Dormammu as a normal, human-like playable character is weird to me. In the Dr. Strange movie he was a giant, invincible god, not even the protagonist had any chance to beat him in battle.
He looks kind or like halloween
Mvc1 is like Smash 64. Amazing, super fun game that just completely got outshined by the goated sequel.
They are also both weirdly broken
If I remember, in MvC1, Roll’s hurtbox was so small due to the fact she was the smallest in the roster.
I got into competetive fighting games because of smash back in 2013, through watching Melee and playing Brawl and Project M.
I got more interested in traditional fighters when SFV was announced, it seemed like a good opportunity to expand the horison.
Didn't last long unfortenally, but then i learned about Guilty Gear Xrd and with that, T7 and DBFZ i got way into fighting games. I love to watch and play them just as much as smash, not good, but that doesn't matter.
Got MvC2 on DreamCast a while back, and i absolutely love it, wish i were there back in it's prime.
I just realized a cheat on combo 10 for Dormammu based on what I saw here. At 16:28, I noticed that he started with 1 red charge. Then later in the combo, he skipped the second red charge and went straight for the Inferno spell. Because that was the spell the game wanted, the tutorial counted the charge along with the spell. If he had ended the combo properly, it would've counted.
Well well, seems I arrived a little early
There's a skill floor and a skill ceiling. If you're gonna lower the floor, you gotta raise the ceiling.
im two years late but the best fighting game to start learning is the one you want to play
In all seriousness Fighterz is the one game where I've gotten a high rank in with a broken controller and now that I have a new controller things are so much more satisfying
“I was gonna be on sudoku watch” 😂
I’ve been grinding and learning Tekken 7 the past 3 months and now Modern Warfare is coming out and I can’t resist the call of nostalgia 😪 RIP to my combos
Muscle memory stays with you haha
Some Dude With a Scarf I hope so lol I’m a fighting game newbie so learning any combo takes me a long ass time to get one time, let alone memorize
@@l30URN3 Hopefully you'll still remember them! Sometimes your thumbs just remember stuff hope you enjoy the new Cod too
15:25 I can see your excitement rise like the flame on dormammus head
I imagine you're getting a lot of recommendations for good fighting games for people to learn with -- and there's a lot out there, I'm sure! Just wanted to add my own suggestion of Them's Fightin' Herds to that list. It's got a small but diverse roster, a fairly comprehensive tutorial, and the community around it is quite friendly. Plus, I'd say their netcode is quite good, even if you're on a toaster; they're using GGPO and everything.
I tried so hard with MvC3 and never been good :(
Go around different teams. Sorry about how good it is later. I feel it's very understandable if you mesh with the team
The mom will actually triangle dashes storm can do it too and a lot of other characters in Marvel 3 for instance dr.doom and Magnus
Miss the samcho vids. I got in the game because of you and mann thankssss for that I loveeee the game. Sometimes I stay away far to much from fighting games and wonder how much i have been missing. Watching from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🔥
The first blazblue is probably the best beginner fighting game imo, theres even a beginner setting for the combos. FighterZ is a good beginner game that has very nice depth once you get into it, tho I will argue that it is very different from a lot of other fighting games with the super dashing and whatnot, but still good
I started on CVS2 and played so much because it was so fun. Was lucky to have it in the arcade and people to help learn..
I started with SF4 and because of my knowledge from that game, it made understanding other fighting games easier.
that drop on Dormammu, I known how it feels man, I've been stuck on combo trials in GGRev2 for a long time now, only on Sin Kyske i've wasted about 2 weeks
*he doesn't know about cold-on-the-cob butties*

I'll be real with you, the way he turns his face when he thinks while he talks to chat, it looks like he's alluringly leaning against his pop filter.
I can’t wait to see him do Shuma Gorath it’ll be hilarious
Ever made a video on why you like 3rd strike?
Smash bros melee is one of the hardest games of the last 20 year
@@xXKillaBGXx Why are you hating? Melee was at Evo for so damn long for a reason.
@@mitzi3262 they're desperate for attention even knowing their ignorance doesn't change that smash is gonna be here to stay, and they probably got bodied by a smash player and gave up then hate at the game for no legitimate reason.
I got a ps2 version of mvc 2 i didnt know it a rare now lol
Let the bargain begin!
Also don't forget that marvel vs capcom 2 was also on the PlayStation 2.
@Himura Kenshin oh yeah your right.
Is samurai showdown an easy game to play
Yes
The first fighter I picked up was Marvel 3 in 2010 when I was 8. Because I love Spider-Man.
19:02 Isn't Sudoku the type of puzzle? Are you thinking of Seppuku?
Nah, he hates Zero, so he meant to say "Commit Shipuugen".
...Actually, "Commit Sudoku" is a fairly common joke among anime show/game knowledgeable folks. :)
Day 2 of asking jmcrofts to show everyones favorite waifu 21 some love 😔💔
GG being easy? In your dreams
Strive
@@harryvpn1462 well this didnt age well lol
Ayy wassup!
Dbfz is good for beginners but not the online because the online is where it’s advanced once you get to a certain point
