I am going to miss Dee Dee Trotter running professionally. Never had the best top end speed but she is one of the few consistent 400m runners throughout all phases of the race and has an amazing closing 200m. The closest thing to Dee Dee's 400m running style now is Polish runner Iga Baumgart.
Krivoshapka didn't learn anything from Richards in Beijing it's nearly impossible to run a 400m all out from gun to finish CLEAN the key is to stay as relaxed as possible, run a controlled first 200m and pick it up in the last 200m and bring it home hard
MrGreenelight what you say is true for a final, but this was the semis. She over exerted herself and had no energy left for the final. She didn't even medal. All you're trying to do in the heats and semis is qualify for the final, you do as little as possible so you will have fresher legs for the final.
You have to remember qualifying first gives you a better lane. Krivoshapka had the benefit of running in the final heat. She knew what bench mark time was needed to get a better lane than Montsho and Richards-Ross who were the hot favorites at the time and she achieved it. She should have adjusted her tactics for the final though once achieving the objective but that's another story.
@@phoenixforce6595 The only mistake she made was in the 1st round where she obviously had enough to relax more. The semis, 3 of them ran under 50 so to win it she had to run fast anyways to be top 2 (Trotter and Wiliams Mills are no joke), to have a good lane like you said, and have a psychological advantage. The final, well...
And I beg to differ with you too. She is easily one of the best finishers in the current field of 400 women, especially afetr running 3 rounds! On paper, she should not have come close to a medal ... she was outstanding on the homestretch and few others are the same
no she wouldn't have but she so deserved to finally win the Olympics best 400m runner of the last 10 years. I think a chance to be a world record holder would be in sanya but sadly Koch and the drugged up germans prevent that from ever happening.
THIS RUN WAS THE WAY SANYA RICHARDS WAS REALLY, A REAL PUSHER AROUND THE TRACK, SHE COULD HAVE PUT SOME HURT ON FELIX & JAMAICAN WOMEN SPRINTERS FOR ABOUT MAYBE 7 YEARS IN A ROW MAKING IT KNOWN & NO BRAG, ONE OF AMERICAS GREATS*
Carol Rodrigues muy buena representación estar ahí nada más representando nos es un orgullo para todo puerto rico nos pone la isla. Abrillar en el mundo
Negative, krivoshapka used an excellent strategy. It does not matter if you ran your fastest at the beginning or the end of your races. It is the shortest "Total" elapsed time to cover the distance that wins.Regardless of when you ran your fastest lap. Did you see the look on the American and the Jamaicans face at the end of the race? They were totally shocked. Krivoshaka did not make a mistake, she was clever and she won. How is winning uninjured making a mistake?
Krivoshapka should take that 6th place and run with it, old cheater. She surely payed for what she did in the final. She sat their crying for sympathy like she thinks she's the only one that lost. Up till this day I think this Russian athlete should ask herself where does she any European sprinters winning any 400m, 800m, or even 300m.
That British announcer was very jealous of the Russian athlete, he couldn’t make any relevant comments that he only picked on the Russian Athlete what a shame 🫤
Christine ohuruogu last minute race is awesome to watch

Negative, It is Key to win. and she won. The other runners stayed relaxed and ended up loosing.
3748359 she ran fine, it's just she ran the heat and the semi all out LIKE they were finals. She paid the price in the actual final and didn't mefal.

The race starts at 3:46 for anyone who’s wondering
They are so amazing
Haiti needs to come up in the track and field world. We have capable people, just not the funding.

DeeDee Trotter did a wonderful job again!

This is the semi finals
Actually Trotter won the heat because Krivoshapka was doped up
Sam West Trotter probably was too; So many US sprinters are it seems 😒
Jack Ward actually it's usually the men. None of the women were doped and she passed the test before the run.
Jack Ward the women passed the drug test tho
Krivoshapka ran her PB 49.18 by running the exact same way at the russian championships so i guess she was confident enough...
PB 49.16
Jorge Adrian Maya 😉
Sanya would've been really close if not break the world or Olympic record if she wouldn've slowed down at the end.

Well done Britain, second place!! 🙂
Yes
What was Krivoshapka at 200? I think I remember the BBC commentator saying she was under 22.5??? Suicidal.

The last race , the Russian had a good technique.

Namibia will be back this year with Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma 🔥🔥🔥
USA keep up the momentum don't let her get that close
USA
krivoshapka made a mistake in the final . she ran the 300m as fast as she can and out of energy in the last 100m
She ran her heats the same way. Never a good idea, that's like running 3 finals in week.
stupid , she run like 200 then he died 400m is paced sprint 1sec slower first 200 is better

she was the fastest in this year nobody can run that fast in 400 its stupid even if you win 400m is paced sprint not all out
MrGreenelight you sound like a troll fool who knows nothing about qualifying rounds.
They're talking about heat results, aren't these semi's?
Where's Felix?
She only ran the 100m (5th, 10.89) and 200m (gold, 21.88) She also ran the 4x1 and 4x4, both gold.
She had the choice to run the 400 or the 100 at the trials she chose the 100
I think Allyson could have won the 400m gold but she didn't want to run
@@FernandoAlbertoGall No. She would not have won it.
@@phoenixforce6595 she was the fastest in the 4x400 relay and I am sure she would've beaten Sanya Richards
