I believe some of the NEO/TWEWY staff are also working on Reynatis even though Reynatis is not a SQEX property, soI think that’s why there’s NEO TWEWY content.
In my opinion, the internet is reading the Switch 2 specs way too literally & not considering how they'll translate in reality.
The specs might suggest "more powerful than PS4 in handheld," but look at what Nintendo did with the OG Switch. They downclocked the CPU/GPU by more than *HALF* of what the Tegra X1 was capable of, simply to preserve battery.
Even docked mode specs were locked in about 20% lower than what the Nvidia Shield ran at using the same SoC. So while I do believe docked mode will be capable of PS4 Pro- Series S levels (with DLSS), I think we'll be lucky if handheld mode matches base PS4 while using DLSS.

First!!! I really, really hope Switch 2 is backwards compatible physically & digitally! (I will be quite unhappy with Nintendo if I lose 7 years worth of digital titles or have to keep dragging out the old Switch to play them! 😂). And remember the stuff we used to get with Working Designs games and all the cool stuff that came in their REGULAR editions? Cloth maps, cards of the characters, sometimes a watch or medal or something crazy like that. Hope you have a great weekend!

Designated Demigod sounds a bit like Kingdom of Paradise for PSP, which had a custom combo system as well. That's was a fairly underrated game.

Dlss basically makes it to where the game has a lower default resolution but uses upscaling tech to make it look artificially close to 4k. Most games on console use this tech if they say they are 4k60 as that is simply not realistic with the now weaker gpu compared to what's on market. Basically it can improve frame rate by not having it locked to a higher resolution.
FSR is used in the consoles and doesn't achieve quite the same results as DLSS, DLSS is what Nvidia uses, AMD uses FSR

Gothic was 'massive' in some parts of Europe. It's honestly the type of game that only could've done well in some European countries at the time (from what I've read, it wasn't very well advertized in the US and only did really well in Germany/east of it). Very open-ended/free form, lots of decisions etc., so those who like these kinds of games should look into the remake, even if it ends up a bit janky too.
GB/s is gigabytes per second and looking shredded as always my guy !
Hey David! I'm not sure if you've seen this, but there's a really cool looking Kickstarter game called Runa that's turn-based and looks to be heavily Xenoblade inspired. It's like 20k Euros away from having English voice acting and would probably benefit from a shoutout from someone like you. Not affiliated with the game or anything, btw, I just through it looked cool and thought you'd like it.

Sword and Fairy 6 is also available in English on PS4 and Steam. Don't play it on PS4, though. Like, really don't. It's what untested game builds look like. But Sword and Fairy 6 is one of my favorite RPG stories with characters that I found both endearing and meaningful that I personally find on par with Tales of games. Gameplay's a little clunky and while the character designs are nice, visuals look a bit dated. Still, it made me fall in love with Sword and Fairy before the 7th game came out. (Sword and Fairy 1 is also fan translated and is a bit of a classic in its own right!)
We also got Sword and Fairy 6 as well as 7
We did indeed get Sword & Fairy 6 on PS4 digitally although it performs horrendously.

I actually just preordered my copy of NES World Championship at GameStop. Best Buy was sold out already. Thanks for alerting it to me before I missed out. I agree about DLC’s in that why pay so much money for a game to have to pay even more for DLC’s to enjoy it. Just give us the whole game and if you want to do cosmetic addons for people to buy go for it you money grubbing corporate stooges but just let us play the game. I also agree about the walkthroughs. Add them in big boxes like they did for Earthbound then everything can be nicely contained in the big box and not sitting on a shelf where it can get messed up or lost.

@@deadwafflez9685 Well I loved the combat and story of both games but Unicorn stuck out to me more. Something about Vanillaware’s graphics always gets me. But you really can’t go wrong playing either one first cause you’re going to want to eventually play both.

Sorry I'm out of the blue, but I am playing Star Ocean 2 Remake and IT IS JUS SO GREAT. This is exactly the perfect remake I was hoping for and what I expected from FF7. Everything I loved about the game is here and almost all flaws are corrected and so many freat things are enchanced and added and they all blend in so smoothly with the original conce[t of the game.. I just want to share my impression with everyone here. The company did a great job woth the game. Other remakes should follow the example of this one!

Take a look at the Famicom edition of the World Championship edition. Awesome DX set.
I only want the NA version for the cart but the rest of the Japanese is superior to me.
Not a lot that got me excited this week but thats alright. It was a fun time anyway.
Aslong as the switch 2 doesn't have joycon drift, lets me play my switch 1 games, and has better processing power and more storage than we good.
my problem is that wat was the point of me buying all dlc of smt 5 and beating the game 3 times if the new game remaster won't carry over the save data from the previous model -_-

I have been trying non stop to register my interest for the Nes championship game and no matter what device I use the page just freezes and I can do it so I guess I wont be getting this game

@@davidvinc Thanks, I live in the UK so we don't have these stores here unfortunately. But good info for others that it will benefit. I was trying to secure a copy via the Nintendo store, but they want you to submit your email to be in with a chance of being able to pre order it, and I guess traffic is so high which is why I just can't even type in my email.
I will stay on the hunt and fingers crossed I can grab a copy.

Isn't it funny that we're getting into another generation of gaming consoles, and yet, the golden gems coming out amongst a sea of mediocre titles nowadays are reminiscent of SNES Era games?
Backwards compatibility is so important. But Microsoft can miss me with shutting down one of their most creative studios. Hi-Fi Rush was awesome as a fan of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta.

PlayStation isn’t as bad as Microsoft are they? PlayStation has bought, and grown a number of developers quite successfully for a long time. Microsoft has bought and the closed down far too many over the past decade and a half. Even successful ones.
Besides the Lionhead closure I’d say Xbox has been very dev friendly up until this ABK acquisition. And PlayStation just fired 900 people and closed down their London studio this year. It’s not just them two though, it’s the whole industry for the most part

Here’s a timeframe for the ones that ended up listed on Wikipedia - there may be others.

2017 - 1 studio closure
2020 - 1 studio closure

The Switch 2 performance looks disappointing to me. Kind of expected though since they stuck to handhelds, but it's clearly not a Sony killer. Now the PS5 is guaranteed atleast 5 more years as the main console for current gen japanese games. Switch 2 like the predecessor will continue to get lower quality ports.
Speaking of that. Now I'm regretting buying Rain Code on the Switch. I have tried it out for a bit, but never committed to it. Last year was pretty busy with Trails. On top of the dlc's, you will get the patches on the disc. So the PS5 version will be future proof. I'm a huge fan of Spike Chunsoft, so it feels like a must to pick it up. I just hate buying a game twice.
Same deal with SMT 5, but I did wait on that one, so that release is really exciting for me.

I know pronunciation can be a total pain, so I wanted to offer some help with a common tern you use that your pronunciation is off on. This is in no way telling you that you have to change it, I just wanted to offer the option in case you want it. So you have to say "otome", which are female-focused dating sims a lot. The correct pronunciation is "OH-toe-May". "OH!" like the exclamation. "Toe",like the digits on your feet. And "May" like the month we are currently in. The first and last parts of the word get the major emphasis, while the middle is less enunciated. "OH toe MAY". Speaking of toes, I hope I didn't step on yours with the correction. My intentions are pure, I swear! Thank you for your comprehensive coverage and charming personality. No matter how you pronounce things, I'll still live watching you!

UGH I hate that Sega is now OUTSOURCING any SMT related work from Atlus. This is their mainline and I don't want them doing this like Falcom has done with Ys.
This might also be why they aren't releasing it in Japan first. Oh crap it is a Mobile game and from a Chinese company at that. Please tell me this isn't a giant cash grab Mobile trap. If not, I hope Atlus watched them like a HAWK on all story ideas given they are Mainlanders.
I think they are testbedding this in Korea and China first because they would hate to wreck the Persona image for the US and Japan as I suspect both are the biggest sales markets for it. If the game ends up not selling or playng well. I really HATE the idea I will have to buy an extra controller to play this. Yes I could play it on a touchscreen but there is no way in hell I am playing a Persona game with phone controls(if it is actually solid).
My concern is also buying that this, even if good, will see Sega milk SMT related content even harder. It would be one thing if we got a new Devil Summoner or Majin Tensei but I don't see that happening. Persona 5 Tactica's poor sales probably torpedoed the latter.

I don't care about visual fidelity so much, but I feel as though Nintendo has a duty to gamers and to the gaming industry as a whole to release a device with 16 GB of RAM so that it doesn't become a Series S-style albatross on multiplatform releases.

Like everything Nintendo, looks fine by today's standards, but in a couple of years it's going to be totally outdated and newer games will have performance issues.
Gothic 1-2 are incredibly important games. We would be missing so many rpg mechanics and QOL options without the series. Sadly the next game was a case of a studio trying to just remake the sequel over and over and not understanding what they were doing in the first place. (Pirahna bytes is the studio, they just make euro jank rpgs now)
