This pawn broker is seen on other metals channels being interviewed and he presents himself as a fair and honest dealer but after seeing this, I would have nothing to do with him, ever. He’s a phony and two faced. Today I got to see the other face. He should learn, since he’s just started out in the pawn business only a few years back, that reputation and repeat customers are your ticket to success. With UA-cam and other platforms showing almost everything,he made a big mistake taking advantage of the guy on camera,at that. Good advertising for stay away from me!

"These guys offer more than most pawn shops ever would." That's a "He ONLY beats his wife on Mondays" kind of response.

He definitely low-balled the guy even being that he is a pawn shop. He knew that he could get on the phone and sell that coin for very close to spot at any moment. At 1600 that would have easily made him a quick $400 bucks. For doing what, looking at a coin for 10 minutes? That's what I call profit! You are correct though. I offered an ounce years ago to a pawn shop just to see what he would do. He offered me $400. I said no thank you because spot price was around $1000 at the time. Pawn shops prey upon these people every day and they have no mercy.

I watched and even commented on the original video. Yes the US Gold Eagle is 22K, but weighs 33.931 grams making it one full Troy ounce of gold.
When dealing with precious metals it behoves the seller or buyer to “know” the current value of what they’re wanting to sell. If the buyer is offering to little take your coin and leave.

Nothing like admitting it’s a fire sale right outta the gate. If I’m asked where my coin came from, “I bought it”. Period! I’m not gonna come out and tell the guy what I paid for it by telling him where. I can pay 2% over spot, and still make money on that coin. Offering $1,600 is an insult. I wouldn’t take a penny under spot. I’ve seen this broker before. I wouldn’t go within a mile of his store. The customer didn’t buy the coin. And the dealer knows it. If he bought it, he already paid a good size premium as well. So he lost somewhere around $500-$600 on this coin if he bought it.

Yeah, you can say the seller won on the price because he bought it for 1350 but using your poker analogy, this poker player left money on the table. so, I would say the seller lost, if he was desperate, he should have at least gotten 1800, should have said I'm asking 1800 you're my first stop I have 3 more places to go. That pawn guy would snap it up despite having to hold it 30 days before he can sell it. paying under 180 dollars buys him that 30 days he has to wait to turn around and make a profit on it.

Anything less than spot is being raped. Honestly dumb seller. I would said give me spot plus 40 and you still make a 100 on the coin sir. You have to know the value off these coins. You can sell spot worldwide. He could of gotten 2180 by selling on ebay. Actually more the coin was a lil older which gets a premium online. Even online buyers pay spot. Not all thou. Coin shop would of gave sot plus a lil premium if he's a good guy. Eagles are highly valued in America. Theres an understanding of the premiums are high for these coins, so ethical dealers give w lil off it bacc.

I think the seller needs money for more than a tesla... He's rocking side to side like he's on a ship on the high seas. He buys coins and doesn't KNOW he should at least get close to spot price... Why go to a pawn shop? He definitely DID NOT buy this coin from US mint. NO WAY. I fear he got this coin from somewhere and it might be ALL profit (1600)... The seller is too nervous.

A guy at a pawn shop, lying about his item, and how he acquired it…go figure. He says he bought it online, about 5 yrs ago, which would mean “on the secondary market”. Having been handled by multiple hands, he would never be able to ever get more than spot, and probably not even that much. Most likely, he’d probably be offered about $100 under spot. When the pawn shop owner points out the coin is only 91.7% pure, that does not mean it only contains that much weight of Gold in it. This man most certainly knows nothing about the bullion market, and the fact that he’s extremely nervous, rocking back and forth, with hands in and out of pockets, to me, is a sure sign of a questionable deal, and how he may have actually acquired it. The seller definitely is desperate, and has practically no education on the metals market. He gets exactly what he deserves…ignorance is no excuse for getting ripped off. The internet provides ample information for anyone.
