    In December 1997, The Financial Times ran an article entitled “The Death of Gold.” Since then, the gold price in US dollars has increased 519% from $288 to $1,780. Today, after many political events and crises we have evidence of the continuous and in many ways spectacular growth of the gold price. This confluence of many current events is creating a perfect storm for gold to increase dramatically more than we imagined.

    Yes you have to be very careful when buying rare metals such as gold. Even buying a physical bar can be dangerous as it may be fake, eve from a respectful retailer. Best to buy directly from the mint I find.

    • @TheRealHoltzy
      @TheRealHoltzy Рік тому

      @@stevexracer you should probably review your 'facts'. Perth mint did nothing wrong, it's just China with a weird, dumb rule on silver. If the impurities had been copper or any other metal besides silver, there would have been no issue.
      Perth mint has since upped it's minimum base purity to address the issue.

    • @TheRealHoltzy
      @TheRealHoltzy Рік тому

      @@stevexracer they got 99.99%, you flop. That wasn't the problem, the problem was with what that other 0.01% exceeded 50ppm of SILVER. Had that 0.01% been nickel or some other crap metal, it wouldn't have been a problem. That's it. Never diluted that 99.99% once. Their actual minimum refinement was around 99.992% and they changed it following this to a minimum of 99.996% refinement which ensures that the impurity ppm cannot possibly exceed 50 ppm again. Beijing needs to stop trying to cherry pick what the impurities of a bar are, they are the ONLY country with these dumb requirements, so no, to those that ignored the hyped Chinese story and actually bothered finding out what the issue was, we already know it was a non event and Perth mint more than 'made up for it' when they never did a thing wrong. For an easy safe & profitable way to buy gold exposure you should consider gold miners in you portfolio. Choose low debt companies in low soveriegn risk countries, with good quality projects in the pipeline. In times of prolonged downturn these companies preform well because mines extracting less valuable materials wind back. Equipment, skilled people & services are freed up at cheaper prices due to lower demand. A gold producer I invested in has just had an 8% reduction in mining costs.

    Always when they mention gold and investment it’s only to “diversify a portfolio” every single time

    There's places like this all over the world pumping out gold and silver coins, tokens, and bars. I wonder how valuable gold and silver really are. If things crumble like everyone is predicting a can of ravioli might be worth then what gold is worth now.

      9 years later, you picked wrong, it was the toiletpaper not the ravioli you should have stocked up on :P

    This is hands down the most baller ass mint in the world. Where else do they have fresh scones and billions in gold?

      lol, your comment actually made me burst out laughing because I was thinking the same thing when they showed the shot with the scones and everyone there just 'chillin' as if they owned the freakin' world. That was 'high ballin' for real. I have to get something from this facility.

    no its not. its cos if you wanna buy them from a bullion dealer, they charge spot, but if you want to sell them to a bullion dealer, they take about 85-90% of spot. thats why its usually cheaper to buy on ebay than from a dealer. Because privately, both buyer and seller can split the spread.
