Disney stuck it in February so that tells you even they have no faith in this film. The number of reshoots came at the cost of a female hero from Israel with the political climate they had to scrap. I think another was the Red Hulk was leaked by McDonald's toys as the movie has been delayed a number of times so the studio had to do reshoots to add an additional villain that was not originally planned. So yeah, this will have a lot of problems.

I argue that Civil War is not a Captain America movie, it's more an Avengers movie! It's amazing and yeah it's part of that trilogy, but it's the Avengers!!!!
I would disagree. It's really Captain America's actions and choices that drive the plot of the movie though. The rest of the Avengers are just following Cap's lead....or following Iron Man, who's trying to keep up with Cap and serves as an antagonist (though not a villain).
They really missed what could have been some great opportunities with all this. What audiences needed were two things: 1. Some time to get to know Sam Wilson as Falcon, not as Captain America. 2. Some time to explore how "special" Steve Rogers was as Captain America. Not just because of super soldier serum, but because of the type of man he was. Falcon was great in Phases 1-3, the only problem was there was no way to give him enough screen time. We needes to know him more. The show should have dealt with Falcon wanting nothing to do with replacing someone he saw as his hero, friend and mentor. Falcon being Falcon - his own superhero...not a sidekick, and not a substitute Cap. Learning. Growing. Grieving Steve, but also stepping out of his shadow. The other aspect of the show should have dealt with the government trying to rush someone to fill Steve's shoes since Sam refused. But none of them can be Steve. Maybe Bucky gets a shot....but there's too much baggage from being Winter Soldier (both psychologically and socially.) Then they try John Walker - but he's too violent, or maybe, he's too much "obey the letter of the law" versus Steve's "do what's morally right regardless of the law." Maybe even some new failed attempts at other super soldiers. Overall, just some time for us to understand Sam and to appreciate the impact of Steve's absence. And then *that* could have led up to this movie. Where a major threat arises, and Sam must accept that - he will never be Steve, he can't be, and shouldn't try. But he is a hero. His own hero. And with that, he is worthy of taking on the shield and being - not a substitute Cap - but his own Cap.
I'm just happy that the tease from The Incredible Hulk is finally paying off. I know nobody else cares about the Leader but I'm friggin excited to see him!
Bucky should've represented Cap. His "dark history" could've really represented America going in a positive direction but no we got bird boy. Not Caps childhood friend.😢

Sam isn't. But that's a quibble. Real issue, as you point out: do they have a coherent story. Red Hulk and Espisito? We'll see.
I'd prefer to see Falcon and Bucky - leave Cap America retired. But I also won't see this film if there's any 'do better Senator' woke victimhood nonsense like in the crummy tv show
I like Sam Wilson as Capt America, I don't care... My only issue is him being as athletic and being able to fight and have the seemingly same "super soldier" ability as Steve Rogers. Sam Wilson is not a super soldier, he did not get the serum, I hope they don't portray him as one, which I have a feeling they will.

Seeing old man Harrison ford as red hulk reminded me of his cameo in anchorman 2 when he turned into a werewolf. WTF, just why? Red hulk is a hulk villain not a captain falcon Villain. He's to late anyways cause they neutered the hulk. So none of this matters. Not knocking anybody who enjoys this. If you do then whatever you do you. But naw, I'm done and I'm out with the MCU.
