- This is an instructional video demonstrating the DVSA Test requirements for the process of coupling and recoupling a Category CE vehicle.

Couple of small points, may not be fails but vital to know:
Indicators not checked, how do you know the unit is not indicating left when the trailer is indicating right? Only happened to me once in 31 years after a trailer repair but could easily have caused an incident if only checking the hazard lights.
No mention of checking the reverse lights.
Dog clip closing bar is not working correctly, can be seen open when it should spring closed.
Load security is always the driver's responsibility, if the trailer is sealed or locked it must still be opened and inspected. If the fat controller tells you otherwise get him to sign for any damage or refuse to leave the yard, it has saved me on many occasions.
Minimum standard for tyres is correctly stated at 1mm over 3/4 of tread width but many companies insist on 3mm with a disciplinary for not conforming.
