I'm the guy they are talking about who had the tube problem and Dave's customer service is absolutely the best. There's a lot of companies out there who look for ways to weasel out of warranty issues - Friedman goes WAY above and beyond on his stuff.
Hey Marc and Dave, fantastic show - loved listening to Steve Stevens and always awesome and interesting to hear your stories Dave 😃 have an amazing day guys and thanks for all you do 😊🙏
This was really excellent!!! I went to a Billy Idol concert back in 1985 and after the concert I was approached by one of the roadies asking if I wanted to go back stage and party with the band - I, of course, said 'yes' - then he asked me my age and I told him '15'...he just turned and walked away...hehehehe!!! 💗💗💗
Steve Stevens had the ultimate palm tree hair in the 1980's. It was almost a caricature of that kind of hair. You couldn't possibly pile hair any higher and make it any bigger than that guy. He even outdid Nikki Sixx's palm tree.
in the Rebel Yell video made back in the 1900s Steve Stevens had all the moves all the talent and the right attitude required to kick ass and take his place as one the great players of our Time and our future.......: )
Sorry missed the live broadcast. Awesome group of people. I have been looking for 1 of those Washburn SS with monster graphics for many years. No luck.
Funny mentioning that building on 30th street. I used to park there in early to mid 90s when I worked down the street. I lost so many mirrors on that street. There was always music coming out of that building. I was playing mostly in the Bronx and lower Westchester during those days.
As always, really enjoyed listening, been a fan since the first show. I was at the London show Steve was talking about, holy crap was that a monster of a guitar sound, the Knaggs and the Friedman guitars were just sounding huge, cool to hear the first time he played through it was when he went on stage. Really enjoy hearing all these cool insider stories I'll give you a few ideas for guests, Paul Rivera Snr, Steve Farris, Steve Lukather, Cliff Chase, Floyd Rose and Bob Bradshaw Looking forward to the next show guys, keep it up!
Dang! I found out about the Steve Stevens model too late! Now i have the unfortunate task of selling the stuff i bought to go after one of the ss models. Great video...I'm sold!
Wow I enjoyed that I personally think Steve is right up there with Evh and Hendricks in ability his body of work is still accumulating he is a guitar players favourite guitar player.
I like SUSTAIN not GAIN :) I don't want my signal all saturated and fizzy and compressed but i do want the chords and notes to sing. "Somebody get me a doctor" intro is what i am talking about. after Ed hits the D chord in that tune's beginning you can hear it start to sustain Most think distortion is the answer so they buy a 5153 and go yeah man this is bitchin but i prefer the old Marshall on 10 tone like on VH I and VH II The opening A chord to Eruption nails the tone for me.
Higher action gives more articulation. It's not for everybody. Low action can give you speed. I use slinky hybrid 9-10 and dunlop heavy picks. Find what works and doesn't work for you. Learn your gear. A432 Eb for me.
We must live close to each other because Rock N' Ribs on 441 and Wiles Road is 5 miles from my house. I live on Boca Raton / Mission Bay 441 and Glades. Great brisket at Rock N' Ribs.
Marc, sure...we can geek out and talk gear. Guitar Center, Sam Ash are a stones throw away from RNR if you want to go play gear. Not sure if this would be fun for a lefty though. I'm lefty too but play right of course. Next time you're up in this area send me an email so we can exchange numbers, Joe. jamcavestudio@gmail.com
About Eddie's tone nowadays, here's what Dave Friedman really wanted to say: It's way too gainy and buzzy with no dynamics at all ! Eddie 's gear and setup today is just the opposite of what it was in the early days, the Brown sound we all love. All that's left is his magic fingers, but he's not playing to his full potential with his current rig and setup.
It’s probably not insane or anything, but Steve probably likes to fight it. I’m the same way. My action has to be high enough for me to fight the guitar to get what I want out of it while still being playable.
Listen to Steve Stevens on Vince Neil's 1st solo album "Exposed" from 1992. I was completely blown away by his soloing speed, insane tone and phenomenal guitar riff pyrotechnics, AN AMAZING GUITARIST!
I love you Steve, and I understand that its better record real instruments in a real recording studio, but don't forget that Tom Scholz recorded that first amazing Boston album at home and it's become one of the standards by which other rock albums are measured.
Hendrix, Van Halen, SRV,....they left out Yngwie. Like him or not your jaw dropped the first time you heard him and he influenced a great number of players changed the landscape once again....
Steve Stevens is for me, the best pop/rock guitar player of all time. Talk about serving the song! What a talent!
I'm the guy they are talking about who had the tube problem and Dave's customer service is absolutely the best. There's a lot of companies out there who look for ways to weasel out of warranty issues - Friedman goes WAY above and beyond on his stuff.
agreed!!
Steve Stevens is a great guy! And an amazing player!
Speaking from experience... Dave's backup service is absolutely second to none. He is a true gentleman and stands by his products.
Steve Stevens is one of the most versatile and talented guitar players out there. And the most humble one. Respect❤️
Hey Marc and Dave, fantastic show - loved listening to Steve Stevens and always awesome and interesting to hear your stories Dave 😃 have an amazing day guys and thanks for all you do 😊🙏
Great show!!!
On the first BLS album, when Steve was using 5150 amps, I thought it still sounded very much like his Marshall tone. Steve’s rad!!!!
Steve is very humble. Seems like a great guy with a great attitude.

Fantastic show as always. Keep up the great work.
Another great show with an amazing player. Keep it up guys!

Awesome show guys! Nice work!
Love this stuff!

Steve's tone is great. Love memory crash - - mega tone. Cant wait till the next SS band LP.

Actually Mexican made Fenders in the 90's were a solid import right off the bat.
So cool. 🙂
Freedman Beer sounds great (pun intended), I draw the line at personal lubricant.....!
10,000 views for this video and I’m fairly convinced that 8,500 of those are me 😂
Billy idol would be Billy nobody without this guitarist
Yes and no.
Higher action gives more articulation. It's not for everybody. Low action can give you speed. I use slinky hybrid 9-10 and dunlop heavy picks. Find what works and doesn't work for you. Learn your gear. A432 Eb for me.
Awesomeness x8

JamCave Studio Yep! Marc is in Weston.
Nice, we are neighbors. Well about 20 minutes.
JamCave Studio I’ll meet for ribs one day if you want

Fantastic show! I just subscribed.
Eddie Bowman thank you !!

Didier ROEGIERS yes!!!!I think he's hinted at it but he won't come out and say it. Eddie needs a Friedman amp because that is the brown sound!!!!!
Strange to watch these older videos and see what we were all thinking. Now, and on the first day of 2024, everything is different...
Buxom Boost looks really cool
If you make a 2x12 combo, I'm in.
Hooray for the Belgium beers! Greetings from Belgium, just discovered and subscribed.
timv46 I’m in England loving Belgium beers too. Best beers in the world! 🙂
too cool
Dave you are freinds awith many people I know < I don;t want to meet Rockstars//I want to Meet YOU!!!
How high does he like his action EXACTLY??
It’s probably not insane or anything, but Steve probably likes to fight it. I’m the same way. My action has to be high enough for me to fight the guitar to get what I want out of it while still being playable.
How cool would it be to get tom scholz on the show????
Tavares Project oh we wish! Would be awesome. Maybe one day!
why not a Friedman scotch ?
MrAletube 🍆💦💦😥

Steve got a hair cut
Wow actually talk about tone
Hendrix, Van Halen, SRV,....they left out Yngwie. Like him or not your jaw dropped the first time you heard him and he influenced a great number of players changed the landscape once again....
One could argue that Tosin Abasi is the latest jaw-dropper, time-to-re-evaluate player.
Steve without makeup.
