In Way of the Dragon (or Return) an interview with the guy who played 'Are you Tang Lung?' said that in his fight scene with the Bruce they were pretty serious, almost like a real fight. I don't remember all the interview, but he said something like in some sequences Bruce would just say really try to connect, but he couldn't. So the intensity was really there.
I used to think that way too. His fights look intense and real but if you pay close attention to his movies, in most of the fight scenes, his opponents just stand there and act as punching bags. They don't fight. I don't question Bruce's skills but the fight choreographs aren't good if you think about it.

The guy in Game of Death, the hapkido master said the same thing. Because of Lee's intensity, it was almost real. He didn't want too be in a fight scene with him again. Btw, he also said, 'I was 180 lbs. Bruce was around 130. In the scene where he broke my back, he picks me up like a feather. He did this again and again, without tiring.' Before he met him, he thought he was just a movie fighter. Just like a lot of critics say today. But the people who actually worked with him, sparred with him, say he was the real thing.

There is also footage here on youtube of Nora Miao being interviewed upon Bruce's death, i think it was 2 months after Bruce had died & you can see the disbelief but also mostly rather a shocking look expression on her face in the whole interview of his death. She said in her own words like she said in this interview about his death that when she heard that Bruce had died it was a shocker to her & she became upset & refused to believe that he had died all the sudden.
