I think if it makes you more confident to feel a bit taller then do it! I wear heels as a 5’1 girl and I feel confident however but that’s a personal thing I’ve discovered within myself. Although, I love heels when I feel a bit short! It helps remind me of posture too! :)

This video really just tells me that people don’t notice height as much as we think (all the people saying they didn’t notice the change in height) so it’s really just in us short guys heads

I mean... no one notices you height....unless your are way above/ below the average. I am like 5'6'' and don't even feel much different from my 5'5'' friends...or 5'7''/8''/9'' friends. even 5'10''/11'' doesn't look all THAT daunting.
People do notice height.
By you they don't notice it consciously (they don't go around judging people's height in their mind). But they do it subciously.
Even something as small as someone approaching you in the street. Someone who is 6'0 will have a heavier presence that forces you to take note of them more than someone who is 5'7, even though the difference between 5'7 and 6'0 is not dramatic.
Even in competitive environments such as at work where employees are battling for a leadership role, or prison, or military. A taller man will have a small advantage in appearing more like a leader by sole virtue of height alone, and the smaller man would have to have a better leadership personality to make up for that deficit.
We as people subconsciously do this for many things, even the tone of a person's voice. A man with a more powerful and deeper voice subconsciously affects people's minds the same way as tall height does.
Beards do the same.
Muscle mass does the same.
And as I'm sure you have noticed, all these characteristics are considered to traditionally be "male" characteristics. Which is why it is men who make the abundance of people who wish to have greater measures of these masculine features (taller, stronger, powerful voice, etc).
Whenever i'm feeling down because of my height(5'7"),i always remember that James Mcavoy, Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Dave Franco and Martin Freeman are all around 5'6-5'7..and as an icing to the cake, Daniel Radcliffe is 5'5..it makes me much more acceptance of my height

They wear height increasing insoles with elevator shoes to increase their height. So I'm not sure if they are good examples for you to feel good.
Just buy insoles and stick with a tall hairstyle and you will instantly be a member of the coveted "Men of medium height" league.

Gracious grace it's good to be optimistic, but a date to a wedding doesn't necessarily mean a girlfriend. I know plenty of people who go to weddings with friends because they're are awkward to go to without someone else. Plus, there's a weird stigma about not bringing a date too.

tru, being tall is really a thing in my school. Some 5'9 - 6ft guys in my class wear height insoles to appear taller. Being 5'8 in vans make me feel small 😂 🙄

Im 5'8" and as girl, even though I'm not giant and wouldn't stand out In a crowd, I feel awkward with short people because I'm the "big" or "tall" one. Meanwhile guys my height feel the exact opposite.

Girls can wear heels whenever they want, whether their partner is shorter or not! (Also men can wear heels too.) I would find it annoying if my partner didn't let me wear the shoes I wanted to wear just because they felt some way about their height.
