Yeah, when I saw their latest concert at a drive-in movie arena (genius) in Connecticut, I wondered who the main new singer was with a very powerful voice to compliment all the band's incredible instrumentation. I thought perhaps he was Eric bloom's son. Glad to know he is Richie Castellano. They are such cool guys to include new blood and keep on going strong as they do and always have done. I met them once a long time ago. They are such great band. Have that NY vibe, just a little vampiric. Too bad the city has been taken over by the undercurrent; ie; demonic rats. Hah!
Saw Richie first on his Band Geek videos, knew he had the voice, really happy it's being showcased here, not to replace the existing voices but to complement them.
I love BOC. I will always love BOC. I also love the fanbase. How often do we get to say that? Fans usually suck, but yall are some of the most wholesome devoted fans. Any other band tries a different singer and gets crucified. All the support for Richie and these lovely velvety riffs and this classically dark and lovely ballad so tried and true for the oyster boys, I seriously can't get enough.
I think it also helps that all the original members took vocals at least once in their original 12 or so year span, so us fans are used to hearing different voices.
Exactly Justina. A different vocalist popping up on the next song is nothing new for BOC, and, for me, one of the great things about this band. Since 1972!
Richie does such a good job with this song. I've had this stuck in my head for weeks now. A beautiful, dark song. Makes a great "b-side" to I Love The Night
Some may be suprised that BÖC new album comes with lots of titles with Castellano as lead singer / author / composer, some even might say "this is not "our" BOC !" (as there are always haters and grumblers). I was a bit surprised too in the first look, but in second thought, THAT IS exactly what Blue Öyster Cult is. The band has ever used all the talents of all bandmates, from the very first album and that's precisely one of the things that makes that band so unique. Every former member composed, wrote or sang in at least one album (check "Agents of Fortune" and "Spectres"songs to find out). And they widely use all members to create polyphonic vocals (Golden Age of Leather, and so on). Ritchie is really a great singer, guitarist and that song is probably one of the best in the new album (with Alchemist). He brings some modernity to the band without betraying its original spirit and that's really cool.
This is an incredible song. Gets better and better with each listen. Its obvious why Buck is so confident giving Richie so much space- the guy is exceptional.
In total agreement. It's not easy to let the younger folks shine. Kudos to Ritchie and to Buck/Eric for allowing him (and probably encouraging him) to let it rip.
Richie Castellano is BOC's secret weapon and such a great multi-talent! So great to see Richie allowed room to sing lead on the new album in addition to producing/editing their new videos...speaks volumes about how cool BOC truly are. Looking forward to the new album!
And now we see why Buck and Eric were so excited to make a new album, with this version of the band. Instant classic. wow wow wow. BOC are back! Allan would be proud
Just knew Richie would be unleashed on this album .... a ballad with a broken hearted 200 year old Vampire is essential for a BOC comeback record in 2020. Impressive stuff RC.

A wonderful choice as a permanent member of B.O.C. !!! His collaboration with Eric Bloom on this song is marvelous !!! Congratulations Richie !!!
Totally agree, fantastic new album. And just a huge bloomin well done to the band for producing this when hardly any other music has progressed or even been produced during these times.
@@lsv47 The definite Vampire songs from the previous albums are "Nosferatu" and "I Love the Night" (both from SPECTRES), "Tattoo Vampire" (AGENTS OF FORTUNE), and "After Dark" (FIRE OF UNKOWN ORIGIN). Then you have songs that are in that vein - so to speak - but slightly more ambiguous, like "Screams" (Self-Titled Debut) and "Unknown Tongue" (CULTOSAURUS ERECTUS).
Damn! I had no idea that BOC released an album in 2020, let alone that it had bangers like this on it. Richie definitely has the pipes to stand with giants like Eric and Buck. Considering that they are in their mid-70's, Eric and Buck both look great, but Buck looks like he might have a painting of himself in his attic that must be protected from any harm.
In college, Buck’s nickname was “Spider Fingers.” After we saw The Blues Project perform in a New York Club, Buck seemed to come away influenced by their guitarist Danny Kalb who had a fluid style and used full-board runs. Buck would sit at the dining room table, drink coffee, and read Road and Track Magazine while practicing his runs. It was an interesting process to watch.
Keeping the theme of multiple singers, multiple song writers is a smart move and a great thing in my opinion. Keeps their stuff fresh and unique as its always been. BOC and vampires is a wonderful thing! Love the chorus line in this too!
I can't believe how amazing these singles have been...this is going to be an absolutely killer album! A fifty year old band still sounding as sharp as their heyday. Awesome to see Richie get a lead vocal here!! :)
Add in the new ones from Kansas and Deep Purple and you have the old guard showing up in force! Yeah this was the clincher for me. Heading right over to the band's website and preordering. Great job BOC!
I don't know how to express how much I adore that Richie is taking some lead vocals and wrote a good number of songs. This dude completely revitalized BOC, to me.
OMG! Richie has breathed new life into Blue Oyster Cult. His talents as a writer, producer, videographer, vocalist and inspiration for the band is immeasurable. There IS life after death and damned if BOC hasn’t been woke. It’s great to see they’ve given a cameo to Albert Bouchard in another video as well. Bringing the Bouchard Brothers back into the fold (if only for some inspirations and creative endeavors) would be awesome. The current band is great. This is a solid fucking album that gets better with each listen and stands up (and even surpasses) much of their earlier work. Congrats Blue Oyster Cult. RIP Allen Lanier. I’d bet he would be proud.!

I had no idea BOC was dropping an album in 2020 and I finally have something that makes 2020 worthwhile. Ritchie really captures the 'feel' of BOC. I am thrilled.
Another gem from the new BOC studio album! I’m a long time fan of the band (almost 30 years, seen in many live concerts, met the band several times backstage), and I saw them evolving musically throughout the years. This new song is as beautiful and appealing as the old classics, but at the same time sounds different, refreshing, opening the way to a new era for the band, where the talents of Richie as composer, player and singer are showing in full glory with this great power ballad (check out the lyrics!). It does not sound like the classic BOC tunes, yet to me, is a BOC song. The eerie lyrics, the guitar riffs and the whole “mystery and horror” feeling this song gives to the listener, helped by a clever and perfectly fitting music video, are BOC at their fullest, reminiscent of albums like Specters and Agent of Fortune. The influx of Richie, but also the stunning rhythm section with Danny on bass and Jules on drum (cannot wait to hear his song on the album!), is instrumental in this new period for the band. Kudos to Eric and Don “Buck Dharma” to giving space to the younger talents to give their personal contribution to the songwriting. It’s a great sign of maturity, respect and forward looking, avoiding the risk of falling into writing songs that self-indulge in the past and do not provide to the listener the thrills of discovering something new, like several other classic rock bands had done recently. The 3 songs chosen for the preview so far are a clever mix of what the full album will likely provide. A heavy, fast rock bullet (That Was Me) that enhances Eric Bloom’s vocal talent paired with a killer riff; the easier listening silky guitar melody of Box In My Head, proving, once more, that Buck Dharma is one of the most gifted guitar players in the rock world to date. Both tracks are more aligned with the past BOC sound, and then this superb Tainted Blood, that welcomes the listener to the new stage of BOC soon-to-be, amazing 50 years musical career. Long live BOC!
The first time I saw BOC with Richie he was on bass. He was so good on bass I was surprised when I saw him onguitar. Now he's singing. The future of BOC is in good hands.
The first time I saw BOC with Richie, he had just taken over for Allen as the band's "utility player". Wasn't sure about him at first, but he grew on me as the show went on. Then they encored with Hot Rails with Richie on vox and it ruled. Been a fan of his ever since.
Sarzo was on bass then, right? I saw that lineup. Wasn’t initially taken with Richie, but he’s an immensely talented musician and a real asset to the band. I’ve come to appreciate him a great deal more over the years.
Wow..great song guys. It adds a whole different dimension letting Ritchie sing this one. Deserves radio airplay for sure. A song about a broken hearted vampire? Why not, sure fits in 2020
I can't think of a single rock station I know that will play any of this. The "classic rock" stations only play the same old songs you've heard a million times. And the more "current" stations don't play music by older bands. It's why I don't bother listening to radio anymore. Damn shame that youtube is the only place you can find good music but it's better than nothing.
Glad to see Richie taking the lead on a song. I saw BOC in Calgary about 15 years ago, not long after he joined the band. It was pretty clear why they had hired him. He added a lot of energy to the show.
Incredible song! Such a powerful one from Richie and Eric. Love how it builds until it explodes towards the end! Great guitar work from Buck, and Richie closing it out. And Richie's vocals are amazing. Can't wait to hear the two other Richie vocals..........
What a great song and nice surprise!! Richie C. has been steeping in BOC classics for years so we could've guessed he'd present something like this. The band sounds superb, and the mix is outstanding, Thanks for bringing the magic again!
Richie is the perfect fit in boc i have listened to boc ever since the early 70s and his vocals fit in great i was lucky enough to see the black and blue tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Discovered BOC from a small budget movie called The Stoned Age at 17 back in 1995 and now at 42 years old, seen them four times still a huge fan and all four times front row.
Love the fact the first three songs showcase three different singers, each song quite distinct in style. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the album. Welcome back, BOC!
Absolute favourite of the three new tunes released thus far. And while I'm sad that Richie C. has not had the time to do more of his great tunes with his basement buddies, this stellar cut more than makes up for that particularly long musical drought!!
Totally agree. Had a nice Kansas vibe to it. Richie and Buck make a great guitar tandem. Band Geek fan from wayback, looking forward to more. Surprise, rock music is still alive.🤘
This would fit in so well on Spectres. It feels like classic Joe Bouchard-style storytelling & dramatic style. Somebody mentioned Nosferatu and I totally feel that. I also kind of am reminded of Vengeance (The Pact) and Wings Wetted Down. They sound different but I feel as if the vibe of the storytelling is the same. I've been a fan of BOC since I was 14 years, now I'm 35, and I am impressed that this band so openly embraces its new members. I've always felt it was so wrong for The Rolling Stones to exclude Darryl Jones as a full member after over a quarter century playing bass with them and counting. In short, I love this.
That's a mighty strong reaction to people liking or loving this song. Who would have thought somebody with the handle @@millennialssuck4411 would be such a snowflake? :D
Tainted Blood Is A Great Straight Up Killer Kick-Ass Song By Blue Oyster Cult And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
Tainted Blood" We danced among the mortals blind to their despair As the sweet scent of certainty fills the midnight air I offer first taste to my love as is our way Tainted blood, she cries and dies, my whole world fades away No one to wipe my bloody tears The life we had for 200 years Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light Do whatever it takes to end this endless night Without her there's nothing for me Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains Do whatever it takes to end my pain Without her eternity is misery Throughout the many years our lives were oh so sweet But this tainted blood has taken everything from me No place for me within this world, the dance is done No reason to remain, you were the only one No one to wipe my bloody tears The life we had for 200 years Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light Do whatever it takes to end this endless night Without her there's nothing for me Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains Do whatever it takes to end my pain Without her eternity is misery No one to wipe my bloody tears The life we had for 200 years Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light Do whatever it takes to end this endless night Without her there's nothing for me Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains Do whatever it takes to end my pain Without her eternity is misery Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light There's nothing, nothing for me Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Got "Agents Of Fortune" for Christmas in HS, have been fan since. This is an amazing comeback album. They haven't lost a beat. Bow down to the originators.

Castellano is a solid BOC member, and as the same in famous album like spectres , mirrors and imaginos, the vocalist were many they continue this tradition , so try to appreciate how wondoerful this music is, for me is 100% BOC
Richie is a beast, saw him sing lead on Last Days of May last year live. Crushed it. Holds his own on a stage full of badassness. Rich the Ancient Metal Beast.

Damn shame that youtube is the only place you can find good music but it's better than nothing.
@@sunsin1592 try callling SiriusXM as that is what I am going to do tomorrow.
Absolutely wonderful song from a great album!
RICHIE! HELL YES!
Excellent guys!
Discovered BOC from a small budget movie called The Stoned Age at 17 back in 1995 and now at 42 years old, seen them four times still a huge fan and all four times front row.
This song is really dramatic and so so catchy. This should be heard by wider audience.
Quelle magnifique chanson, bravo Blue öyster Cult !
Wow !!!! What a kick ass song. Fresh sounding great guitar playing classic Blue Öyster Cult I absolutely love it
At 2:40, she's stunned by the distinctive lead guitar she's hearing! This is Blue Öyster Cult, folks.
Haha....perfect timing!
Love the fact the first three songs showcase three different singers, each song quite distinct in style. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the album. Welcome back, BOC!
And love how different but appropriate the two solos are in the song.
Total early 80's Scorpions ballad vibes. Great song, great album, great band!
70's rock dramatic music over a kitsch thriller of 50's. What incredible result! BOC n. 1!
Wow I wasn't expecting this. But it was so needed and Ritchie as Lead Vocal "Chef's Kiss" thanks guys.
RIP Allen Lanier. Ritchie Castellano carries his torch well!
NOW THAT has that classic B.O.C eerie vibe.......richie is a great singer/writer/player.
Killer track! Richie has a great voice. All hail the Blue Oyster Cult!
And that,Ladies and Gentlemen, is how it's done. Welcome back guys. We've missed you!
"The Rolling Stones without Brian Jones are just a funk band."-Bob Dylan:)
I reminds me of Spectres too..
This reminds me nothing of spectres except for the old movie playing - the music is very meatloaf.
Are you fucking kidding? This is garbage!
That's a mighty strong reaction to people liking or loving this song. Who would have thought somebody with the handle @@millennialssuck4411 would be such a snowflake? :D
Good tune. Richie has a great voice!Of the 3 they have released so far this is my favorite. I love when Buck and Richie trade off leads.
Ritchie is multi-talented!
Tainted Blood Is A Great Straight Up Killer Kick-Ass Song By Blue Oyster Cult And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
Fuckin' weird that you capitalize every word. What's wrong with you?
@@drithligh I Like It...It's A Kind Of Art...!!! 😃👍
Richie... Right man in right moment in right band.🔥🔥🔥
Europe loves Richie Castellano!! Guys you are welcome - after Covid19! Great voice , awesome Richie Castellano!
Tainted Blood"
We danced among the mortals blind to their despair
As the sweet scent of certainty fills the midnight air
I offer first taste to my love as is our way
Tainted blood, she cries and dies, my whole world fades away
No one to wipe my bloody tears
The life we had for 200 years
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Do whatever it takes to end this endless night
Without her there's nothing for me
Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains
Do whatever it takes to end my pain
Without her eternity is misery
Throughout the many years our lives were oh so sweet
But this tainted blood has taken everything from me
No place for me within this world, the dance is done
No reason to remain, you were the only one
No one to wipe my bloody tears
The life we had for 200 years
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Do whatever it takes to end this endless night
Without her there's nothing for me
Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains
Do whatever it takes to end my pain
Without her eternity is misery
No one to wipe my bloody tears
The life we had for 200 years
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Do whatever it takes to end this endless night
Without her there's nothing for me
Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains
Do whatever it takes to end my pain
Without her eternity is misery
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
There's nothing, nothing for me
Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Make the sign of the cross, wrap me in silver chains
Put a stake through my heart, throw me out in the light
Thank you!
Got "Agents Of Fortune" for Christmas in HS, have been fan since. This is an amazing comeback album. They haven't lost a beat. Bow down to the originators.
A new album after 20 years. I ‘ m so proud of BÖC !!!
I'm seeing ( and hearing for myself ) Nothing, but GREAT things about this Album. Hell of a Return Album !! Heavily Digging Each Song I Hear ! 🎸👍
Letting Richie sing is awesome, and just goes to show how multi talented BOC is and always has been...rock on Cult..🤘
BÖC is just as cutting-edge as they were when I first saw them live in 1976! Loving this new music, well done!!
I think this third song is the nail in the coffin........i AM ordering this album.
This song has such a great and memorable chorus...the harmonies and the hook are just great. I seriously would put this up with their best songs, it's that awesome
Yes! Another vampire classic from the all-time classic band, BÖC!!! I love this.
I love it. I’m really thankful for what Richie has done for this band.
Welcome again Blue Oyster Cult.
Castellano is a solid BOC member, and as the same in famous album like spectres , mirrors and imaginos, the vocalist were many they continue this tradition , so try to appreciate how wondoerful this music is, for me is 100% BOC
Just saw them last night in Akron Ohio, still awesome live! BOC forever
Richie is a beast, saw him sing lead on Last Days of May last year live. Crushed it. Holds his own on a stage full of badassness.
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast.
And it's also downright criminal that Buck Dharma doesn't rank among the top ten most influential rock guitarists of all time.
Thanks for all the years of tunes.
I'm glad this has finally came out.
Stay safe brothers.
What a song, unbelivible. B.Ö:C still rocks!!!!!
WOW!!!!! FINALLY Castellano "unleashed".......lol.......what a great song Richie's vocals fit this song like a glove sounds like the new album is a real winner props to Eric and Buck and the rest of the band
Nice track and would not be surprised at all if Wasted Sunsets by DP influenced them when writing this. Enjoy the backing vocals as always since I became a BOC fan in 79 (Toledo Speedway Jam I). Good job guys and WELCOME BACK ON A NEW PROJECT!
Damn damn damn!!! So cool to see Richie singing.
I've been a BOC fan since middle school in the 90's and I'm 40 now. They keep rockin' and I keep wearing their t-shirts & buying vintage vinyl.
Richie does an excellent job here. I love how the "newer" members are getting a contribution in recording to add to an amazing legacy. This is a classic sounding BOC song, well done!
Guys this song and video are beyond beautiful, so much love from Colombia!!
Please release more music!!
Warms my blood to see BOC having Richie carry the torch on this track.
Yeah....Great they let him get his shine ...He's awesome...!!!
Listen to some early Symphony X. Richie and the band are channeling it but adding a Spectres era BOC twist. It's a fantastic evolution.
Brian Baker I don’t think this is quite spectres era, I’m not sure which era/album this song fits into
Brian Baker a lot of people seem to agree with your thoughts on this being spectres related but honestly I can’t hear it and I’ve listened to the album so many times, maybe specific songs you thought of when you heard this would help me understand
Maybe it's just the vampires? I Love the Night, Nosferatu. Deeper, dark, lyrical themes - a sophisticated vampire ballad.
I'm so happy to hear new music and see new blood!! I've been following these guys forever, huge fan! I love the music from older days, but you can't live as long as they have only playing the older songs....
What a voice, reminds me of early Symphony X and Russ !! This is a great song. Thank you guys.
What a killer song, Richie was great on the vocal. great soloes from the Slick, smooth tones of Buck's to the b istering end solo by Ritchie! I haven't been as excited about an album release since th e two newest Kansas albums came out! First them and now BOC... the golden age is returning. Now, if only UFO wasn't retiring.....
That's another great track from this album. These dudes are timeless. 🤘
The Legacy. Please keep this music alive. Music saves the day...again
Nobody does Supernatural rock like BOC! Loving the new addition to the Vampire set.
Saw this performed LIVE tonight! Wow, what a show! BOC!
been a BOC addict since ::cough:: their first album...still have it and all the others after it...and the CD's to match. Have the new one on order...I'm and oldie and they're still goodies... ;D
Three straight instant classics from the new album (so far) with Richie simply killing it on this one, and a nice little solo by Buck in the middle - like the good old days!
Omg!! There is really nice to listen Richie as a lead singer!!
Richie has more talent in his pinky than most shit out there today! He is just an awesome musician!
Sounds great. Love the singer's voice
Outstanding , amazing ....... nearly 50 years on and still blowin' them all away.
