As a mother and medical professional, don’t you think the colostrum should go to the calf?

    • @foolishlyfoolhardy6004
      @foolishlyfoolhardy6004 Місяць тому

@moder_nord2475 it should. But cows produce much more colostrum than the calf even needs, plus it's best practice to feed calves the collostrum from older cows because it's better quality - so they could just send the colostrum from younger cows to make "supplements" and it's not going to affect the calves getting quality colostrum.
However, they're also not allowed to allow colostrum into the milk supply to be sent for human consumption under food health and safety laws. So take that as you will.

I just don’t like when people get it and hide it then use it their new body to sell something or use it as unrealistic expectations.. if you are online and have a platform jsut own up to your plastic surgery . trueee, BUT this might just be a me thing: the other problem I see is body dismorphia leading to wanting to do these types of surgeries in most cases which I dont think is always healthy.
We always encourage to accept the way someone is, but if you really feel like the change will make your world then by all means. The thing is, Stefanie never stuck out to me as someone who genuinly needs done anything, she was basically perfect. Of course this is my subjective view, but lets be honest, this surgery was only to become closer to perfection and thats whats bugging me. Hhe fact that she still saw the need to do anything makes it just look me like it was done due to body dismorphia and pressure from social media 🤷‍♀️

These people want to be praised/ credited for being up front and honest because that is where the internet is heading these days is transparency.
Coming forward about one cosmetic surgery implies you’ve had one surgery. If it was for you and not because society made you feel you needed this surgery, people should be proud to have finally purchased something to make them happy.. there wouldn’t be the shame/ secrecy.

@@Mikaboba100It matters as soon as people give advice on how to achieve a certain look, especially when they’re selling a product.
Don’t you think a fitness influencer who has a flat stomach because she had liposuction should disclaim that? Otherwise, many people will believe that she achieved this by following routines or programs she shares and sells.
Same goes for people you know privately, if they have had work done or taken medication or even illegal drugs to achieve a certain result, I do believe they should be transparent about that instead of claiming they achieved this completely on their own by eating less, just training, etc. (or just don’t talk about it at all, they aren’t trying to sell you something after all).
But don’t lie and feed into the illusion that something that can’t be achieved naturally can be achieved naturally. Just say you don’t want to talk about it if you don’t want to tell everyone what you have done instead of lying. And if you’re selling something, be transparent.

I doubt women would want to get breast implants if there wasn't societal pressure to have a particular body shape. I appreciate stephanie being honest but I did unfollow her around that time because her content just isn't what I'm interested in anymore. I don't think getting cosmetic surgery aligns with body acceptance. I do believe in bodily autonomy and obviously she has the right to do whatever she wants with her body but it doesn't make sense to make a bunch of videos about accepting your body as it is and then going and getting plastic surgery. Nobody HAS to accept their body, people have the right to change whatever they want about their appearance but if you have profited off preaching accepting what your body looks like, it makes no sense to get surgery to alter it.
Breast implants aren't a small aesthetic choice. It is a clear attempt at fitting into what society demands women's bodies look like. I can't blame her for wanting them. I've considered implants several times, however I had to make a decision between accepting whatever my body looks like and trying to fit into societal beauty standards. Again, she has the right to do whatever she wants but I will not be following someone who profits off of messaging about body acceptance but then gets surgery to fit into the profitable body shape.

@RoastedSaltedPeanut A very self-righteous admonition, I must say (easy there, sheriff).
Self-acceptance? That's a slogan; the palaver we tell us ourselves to feel better about not measuring up to society's standards. But not what we tell ourselves in private when no one is about to see or hear us. It's one thing to talk a good game that one accepts oneself and quite another to actually stop being self-critical (to silence that little derisive voice in one's head that says you're not quite good enough because basically what woman doesn't hear it being said about women all the time). She's just a woman like the rest of us who is subject to the same neuroses about their looks, appearance, and image.
Yes, she's trying to fit "into what society demands women's bodies look like". But, so what? We go to school to fit into what society demands is intelligence. Beauty is like IQ--a fabricated myth, but one that has life consequences if we don't fulfill it. Things are a lot more complicated than you make it.
Why are the powerless being blamed for what the powerful impose on them? Rich white men make the rules. Stop flogging her and come up with a resolution besides reprimanding women who conform. You conform too but in different ways.

Of course, without the pressure from society and just the current beauty trend, women would never have any material surgically placed inside their bodies. Cosmetic surgery does not align with body acceptance. I agree with you. Everyone has the right to do these things with their body. And everybody also has the right to say "your messages or actions are not supporting my own personal development", everyone has the right to unfollow a person because their message/actions are triggering you, everyone has the right to mention that someone's actions don't allign with their message (like in the case of Stephanie).

I just think that we have to realize that many plastic surgeries only exist because of societal presssure and especially as women, we cannot really escape that pressure. So while I do think everyone can do what they want, we should also keep critizing the pressure on women to have perfect boobs, noses, hair, lips etc. I definitely hope there’s less demand for (this kind of) plastic surgery in the future because the pressure is lifted!

I work with a plastic surgeon and I wish there was way more nuance and less judgement when it comes to elective procedures. There is a very stereotypical view of what the types of patients who come to our office are, and it's largely untrue. We work with patients who have lost their breasts or other body parts to cancer and want to feel whole again/not be reminded of their illness every time they look in the mirror. We work with transgender patients who want to feel like their body reflects who they are. We work with patients who have disfiguring scars they don't want people looking at. We work with patients who no longer recognize their body after having children and want to feel more in control of their lives. And that's all okay! People have broken down in our office from the sheer shame of going to a consultation with a plastic surgeon, which is an absolute tragedy. People -- even those who choose to share some of their life on social media, even those who simply want to "be more beautiful" -- have complex, private relationships with their bodies that they deserve complete autonomy over. I really wish elective cosmetic procedures were seen more as a helpful aide to other types of mental health treatment, which in my experience they absolutely are. [Edit: of course it's not black and white, of course societal expectations of beauty go into it, of course there are slimy surgeons out there. But let's let people live! Let's trust that Stephanie is an intelligent individual who made an informed decision that made her happy in her body].

Sometimes its literally as simple as, "i like the way big boobs look". And even if she got them because of an insecurity, why are we blaming her and not the culture that made her feel that way?

Except none of those things are nearly as dangerous and expensive as plastic surgery. Fashion trends come and go. Your body is not a trend. So many women have complications after breast implant surgery and now we know breast implant illness is a thing. Pretty hard to say you respect your body if you are doing something unecessary that could endager your health.

MAybe I'm just sensitive about this because my ED was sparked by having small boobs (I was like if I can't have big boobs then you should at least be able to see my ribs through my back so its proportional), but at 14:39 you say that you think surgery is fine "as long as plastic surgery isn't done with external pressure", I don't think any plastic surgery can be done wo outside pressures if it helps the recipient conform better to the narrow and high standard. I think the most dangerous part about social media, cosmetic procedures, and surgery is not the expectations being placed on noncelebrities, but the narrowing of beauty standards to one ideal. Appreciating that everyone looks different and not putting a beauty judgement on how close to or how far my body is from the ideal has helped me with my relationship.
I get that Buttermore never claimed to be always body positive and everyone has things they wish were different about themselves even if they have an overall healthy relationship w their body, but I get how it feels like a betrayal to her fans.

I think it's a lot of pressure to say that just because someone advocates body positivity, they're not allowed to ever make choices that might stem from insecurity. No, it's probably not ideal, but we all live in a society that wants us to look a certain way, and it doesn't feel very compassionate to shame other people for sometimes caving to those expectations.
It's freakin' difficult to love every aspect of yourself (ESPECIALLY when it comes to your own body), and the road to unconditional self-acceptance can be so painful and complex, no matter what principles you adhere to. I don't think we need to make individuals feel bad for not being able to handle that struggle all the time.
Also, and this isn't completely comparable, but I often go months without shaving or otherwise removing hair from any part of my body. I can wear shorts and tank tops in the summer without feeling shame about my furry body parts, and I can shower without ever feeling compelled to grab a razor.
And then sometimes, I want to shave my legs or armpits, and when I do, it's not because I hate my body hair, I just feel like switching things up a bit.
It might be a little different when it's a more permanent change like a breast augmentation, but I still don't necessarily think the choice to alter something about your body means you automatically hated or even disliked it the way it was before. I think the important thing is to have some honest conversations with yourself about why you want that change and whether it's a sign that maybe you have some deeper insecurities that might be worth exploring, whether or not you decide to go through with the alteration.

    • @Diana-qp2rw
      @Diana-qp2rw Місяць тому

I agree, it’s nearly impossible to love everything about your body (or yourself).
We are allowed to try to change ourselves and become a better person, we are even encouraged to do so, and rightfully so. But when it comes to our body, why should we not be allowed to change something about if it makes us feel better?
I’m not saying we should all get plastic surgery to change every little thing we don’t like. But if there’s something truly bothers us and we feel much better and more comfortable in our own body afterwards, it might be the right choice for someone. No, you’re probably not body positive about this one thing about your body you choose to change, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be positive overall or advocate for accepting your flaws.
I, for example, don’t like my body hair and I remove it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel good about my appearance in general or feel ashamed of my body hair, I just prefer my body without it. I also bleached my hair, but not because I hate my real hair color, not even because I like it less than blonde hair, but because I feel like this is what I want to look like right now. Same goes for painting my nails or lips, I do it because I like it, not because I hate my natural look.
Now, I wouldn’t call myself body positive, I’m not a big fan of such labels, but I’m certainly happy with my looks, even though there are things I change about my appearance. I believe the same can apply to people who get surgery, just that they don’t feel good about one single thing and feel much better after changing it.

Nobody is arguing here that people can't do what they want w/their bodies but in this case her viewers pointed out that SHE SHAMED another woman for this same decision and perhaps was NOT preaching a "body respect" message but more of a "i love my body the way it is now" message so to do that with a large audience and then go under anesthesia to get a permanently altering surgery on a body part that is ONLY for aesthetic purposes does seem pretty disingenuine and she can absolutely be judged for that b/c for all the work she might do in one space with her personal gains with eating addiction recovery she can also be sending a harmful message to the people who ARE on a slippery slope with their body image issues. Everybody who doesn't agree with her decision isn't a hater- some people can be really disappointed. Not that it should matter if it's a decision about your body- but if you're a public figure making a living by sharing intimate details about your body- it's par for the course. While she does address a lot of content about nutrition in general, she tends to have a specific focus on eating disorder recovery. And for people who are recovering from an eating disorder, the videos that are put out by thin wellness influencers can be difficult to recognize as potentially unhealthy. It can be a lot easier for a person in ED recovery to recognize the unhealthy habits of an overweight UA-camr, but the habits of a thin influencer can be harder to recognize when they are unhealthy, Because, due to society's tendency to equate thinness with health, the very fact that they are coming from a thin influencer gives the impression that habits are healthy, even if they are not. So I think Abbey is trying to shed some light specifically in an area that can be confusing for people recovering from an eating disorder.

If it makes her happy and she feels better with this approach to food (which is great, Stephanie had a long journey) its her decision, wants a plastic surgery - her decision, wants cosmetic treatment - her decision. And NOBODY can tell me, that they did not think about changing something on themselves. Whether its loosing weight, cosmetic tweaks, plastic surgery, face massages, body treatments etc. All of those, are changing your body, because you want to change something on yourself and you want to feel good. Everyone though about it, everyone has insecurities, even people who TRY to be body positive. But even those people are not immune against the society and the influence that we see all around us.
So these reactions - OMG she done her breasts... so? if I had the money I would do it also, even though I love myself, but I still want to look and feel the best I want. And that's it. You cannot blame anybody for wanting them to feel and be the best version of themselves.

Big difference in adding art on your body like tattoos/haircolour etc. and making a part of your body into a certain shape and size, that's for some reason deemed the ideal by some group of people.
One is drawing/colouring on your body/hair because you like the picture/colour vs. something that basically wouldn't exist without the p*rn industry/men (not all men! inb4 I get attacked for that) pushed it on women.
After all, having big melon shaped boobs, full lips etc. is the male gaze.
Imo, plastic surgery should only be for medical reasons such as reconstruction, breast cancer survivors etc. And of course for trans people.
I'm 36, and this is an opinion I've formed through lots of reading scientific journals, and I'm still waiting for science that says people who get these done isn't due to the influence of some outside opinion that a body part sould look a certain way. 😅 understand it a bit more if f.ex. everyone who got breast auguementations got a natural tear drop shape in a size that matches their body. I truly don’t think it is anyone’s business what you do to your body. This is ridiculous. 😂 people really think the strangers they follow online OWE them everything.

Abbey, loved this video. I’m curious to hear what you think about lovesweatfitness. As a follower of hers for years, I was heartbroken when she got BA because I did feel like everything about ‘love yourself’ that she preached to us, was a lie because she wasn’t taking her own advice. I do find it hard to follow someone who doesn’t believe in what they are saying. And I do think that going under the knife and getting a surgery that’s purely for cosmetic reasons that literally makes you unable to workout for weeks and something you have to maintain for the rest of your life, is not truly loving your body. Would you do a video about lovesweatfitness? Her reasoning to me makes no sense and I just feel it’s an excuse. I would have actually been happier as a follower if she just came out and said, hey I love most of me, but I am insecure about my breasts and I got a BA. I really enjoy your videos because you always give, I think, a very unbiased opinion. If you see this, thanks! 😊

What if you have a health condition like osteoporosis where you're better off having protein at every meal? Would it still be fine to skip protein then?

I still don’t understand why people need to know everything about the content creators they follow. They have a right to keep private whatever they want. I don’t understand, either, why people think they have a say on what these creators do with their bodies. It’s THEIR bodies, not ours. And I fail to comprehend why people get so angry and mean towards these creators if they do something with their bodies that people don’t like or understand. Creators don’t owe us an explanation for everything, and just because they choose to do something we don’t understand, doesn’t mean they’re betraying a cause. I think that we have plenty of reasons to demand accountability from a creator if they’re hiding endorsements or lying about their successes, because it lead us to believe it’s our fault we’re not achieving the same results by doing the same thing the creators are supposedly doing. Those actions are fraudulent in my opinion. Everything else is for them to decide what’s best.

Having a breast augmentation doesn’t mean you don’t love your body. Hats off to women for being brave enough to face the backlash of weak minded people when they tell people they have had surgery

I have the same experience. Even some of my closest friends ki nda changed their approach because I had a BA. Like I didn't get a brain altering surgery FYI, I got a boob job. For myself. Paid it myself. Why does this happen, I truly don't understand?

We don't get to make videos and comments and opinions and criticisms for years about a woman's body and watch her suffer and struggle to make it through for our entertainment and then be shocked and surprised when she makes a change in her appearance?? I don't effing get it. She doesn't owe us anything, we don't know her, she's not our friend. She is a stranger who we have a tiny sliver of information about and she exists in the body she has, her brain is in her head, and we have no right to tell her that she can't do anything to HER body to make it easier, make her feel good, etc etc. As far as I'm aware she's not shilling a discount code for a plastic surgeon so what right do people have to fling their disgust her way. It's just more harassment. Putting someone on a pedistal is still dehumanizing, and women have enough of that to deal with already .

We need to stop with the "plastic surgery bad" ideology, especially when it comes to children. Plastic surgery is necessary to correct cleft pallets/ulcerated birth marks or repair scarring. Im not saying anyone should feel like they need to get a butt ton of surgery to fit a trendy shape, but just getting a boob job isn't outrageous.

Necessary?? Do you know how many people I know with cleft palettes who don't give a fuck? I have an ulcerated birthmark, and I've never even thought to have it removed. You are a sad and weak-willed person if you think cosmetic divergences "require" surgical correction. I used to resemble a gremlin as a child, but with NO plastic surgeries, nips or tucks, or external work of any sort, one day turned into a victoria's secret model. Who you are at any given stage of your life doesn't limit you and hem you in as your ultimate destination for the rest of your life. Anything is possible with hard work, a positive attitude, love towards others, and dedication towards your goals. Imagine if I let people's criticisms of my appearance push me to get a nose-job for my then, crazy-looking nose? One day, all my features gained harmony with one another, and I became conventionally "beautiful." No ear-pinnings necessary asa 12-year-old. Had I changed my looks early on, I may have never become a ultimately naturally attractive person. Beauty isn't the point. Beauty is the thing that one day shines through when you're living your life with alignment.

Love this! Spending the remaining days of my career helping those with ED. I do wonder what was said to her that negated her choice- if she wanted to change her body for herself, that is way different. In my experience, it’s been a comparison comment that the woman couldn’t shake 😢 ugh…
