Avenged Sevenfold Live 2004 part 1
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- Filmed at SloBrew, San Luis Obispo, CA, 2004. This footage was lost from 2005 through 2011. It has been found.
My grandfather died in December 2010. It fell on my brother and i to begin the process of sorting his belongings that were to be divided amongst the family. When searching through a random box in his house, i found many articles of mine that i had left there from the time i lived with him in 2003-2004. In that box was a dv tape in a little clear plastic case which i thought had been destroyed or trashed by the person who moved into my space after i had left many years ago. For the past 6 years i have always been saddened by the fact that under my care, the record of an awesome early A7X club show was forever not to be seen. Needless to say, at my grandfather's house, when i saw the tape laying at the bottom of the dusty cardboard box that day, my brother and i lost our minds with excitement. We yelled and howled like total idiots at each other about how epic and amazing the discovery was. To be honest, that was probably inflated by the fact that we needed a release from the sadness at the time. But nonetheless, it's wonderful that the concert has returned from the land of the unseen.
I knew they wouldn't let me film during the concert being just some random fan so i concocted a false story and then lied to everyone that got in my way that night. I told the promoter that i was filming for my music recording class and we were going to analyze the audio in class the next day as a class project--bullshit. When i snuck into the sound check during the day i told the backstage bouncer i was a journalist from my school--total bullshit. Then when i was stopped by another bouncer once the show was starting i told him i had permission from the promoter. I told him to gesture towards the promoter for his approval of the situation and after a tense few moments the promoter waved back, the bouncer released me, and i hit record.
This concert is a gem...probably, the last metalcore show from A7X we can see in the network.
Oh..
I miss m shadows screams tho ;(
Words fail me. From a fan since July 24th, 2001 you have no idea how much this video means to me and everyone else. Thank you, Hoopmov.
Thomas Reamer blablabla bullshit :D
lips of deceit is the best song from this album! the base the guitar and the drums especially!!!! and Matts epic screaming!!
I completely agree.
Demiharvey that is on there first album this is there second

Eternal rest 18:30
Lips of Deceit 23:56

Awesome setlist.
Part 2 is arguably even better. I just think they should have played Desecrate Through Reverence before Eternal Rest just like on the album. The two songs go so well together,
Thx
thx
Only true fans here.
+Will Inamine not always true fans here, the true fans are the ones who have been fans the longest. The fans who became fans in the days of Sounding The Seventh Trumpet. Such as those who were at the Showcase Theater when A7x played there back in 2001.
exactly dude lml
Yeah. Those fans who do not only talk about Syn or Zacky. They love all members. And *A7x is our heroes. Not husbands*
@@screamingfang fans that like them bcz of their talents
im a true fan because i am watching their old videos even though i became a fan 2 years ago 🤣 I'm just 20, my birth year is the same as A7X year so you know what i mean. I wish I could turn back time to see their live performances especially when the rev was still alive
THIS NEVER GETS OLD! IF YOUR A DIEHARD A7X FAN, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!
We knew dude!
Early Avenged Sevenfold will be always in my heart.
6 years later still yes
“Nothing hurts my world, just affects the ones around me!”
(RiP Jimmy) 2022 still goin hard
foREVer
Whoever record this video is an angel.. Thanks
I don't think they realized how much they impacted the scene at the time. They were the kings of the metalcore Scene, STST & WtF definetly inspired future metalcoee bands.
I really wish I could've had the chance to see them in those days. The energy, the feel, the passion. Even as they are now, they're amazing. But damn, there's just something about their musical projection in the old days. Old or new, Avenged Sevenfold is still freakin golden.
Sorry to hear about your grandpa, bud. & thanks for the video endlessly!
When Shads was in his prime, he gave every metal singer a run for their money. In my opinion he’s got Corey Taylor and Howard Jones beat (at this point in his life I mean lol.) This is the Avenged Sevenfold that my heart remembers.
If he'd only hired a vocal coach earlier to preserve his voice instead of waiting until CoE.
He was better than Corey at his peak. Seen them both live over the years and shadows on nightmare tour was probably the best vocal performance I’ve ever heard live, was even doing some sick ass screams too. Corey played right before A7X with stone sour on that tour and he was good but shadows was on another level.
I’d have to disagree. As good as he was, Corey in his prime was king.
Wow, great upload. i was at this show, a sophomore in high school. some of the best times of my life!
Were you the goat screaming in the microphone at 33:08?
i saw them on that tour, west palm beach FL. Same little stage, at some bar. My Chem Romance opened for them.
That’s so funny
Syn messed up a lot lol. He's improved so much though.
James Herrera in a interview he said he didn’t care about what he played because he was drunk during those shows and he actually cared about what he was playing in 2005 because avenged sevenfold was getting bigger
MarioFilmsProductions yup, beast and the harlot breakdown part 1
i like how matt can just start a circle pit whenever he wants...and yess all of their old stuff is epic
I would take a human life to have seen this show
jwalkblue oh w3w
same
Same
Tyson Foose lbc did have city of evil
Ez
I am SO happy that you found this. Coincidentally, I was going through videos of theirs on youtube to escape from my own feelings of sadness. Finding this has made my day, and now I'm reminiscing of when I first saw them, in 2005. Times were so different. What a ride. Thank you so much for lying to those bouncers and promoters in that club, and for sharing
This footage is a dream come true. Been watching it for a couple years now at least once a month, and it never gets old. The crowd is great, the quality is great, oh and one more thing the band is great. Lol So glad you were able to find this the way you did. Cheers brother
OMG, thank yooou! these old videos are so hard to find!
I think these times are the "gold age" of Avenged Sevenfold.. I mean, I love their new albums but I miss these old songs [metalcore]
yaabr same here dude
wow synyster gates has improved so much haha
surprisingly he once was human..
man, you're a fucking hero for the way you get to film this show
I can't believe i lost my only chance to see the Rev live
they need a setlist like this in the next tour after "nightmare after christmas"
WTF and STST are fucking awesome
Damn, I LOVE Turn The Other Way, my favorite A7X song, sadly they won't play it live ever again :(
It has too much screams for Matt to handle
This is awesome! Just found this! I live in Santa Maria. I caught the Cal Poly show a few years after this
I've been listening to Waking The Fallen for the last two days over and over. Such joy. I LOVE the story behind this video. It's too bad Jimmy's back in the dark. I love watching him play. But I'm glad to get to see this old concert. Thanks for sharing. :)
Turn The Other Way is incredible here! M Shadows vocals are full on!
Kinda sad they didn’t play We come out at night, personally it’s one of my favourites from them.
Also holy shit that description, not sure if it’s true but damn nice job lmao
Still can’t believe this video is real. I have to watch it at least once a year.
Yes, this real video
Missed matt screaming
Check out Brad Nolan UA-cam channel he’s got a recording of the show that they shot the unholy confessions music video very good footage of the rev drumming as well
thank you for posting this, this has most of their best songs and the quality is pretty good. Far better than most videos posted of their recent concerts. They were so awesome back then. Still good today but they will never compare to their older stuff imo. They had so much energy and the screaming is great. So glad you found this. WTF, greatest album ever.
This concert is so freakin' awesome! And you are awesome for filming it and sharing it with us!
AAAAAAAMAAAAAZIIIIIING ! FUCKING AWESOME! thanks a lot dude for posting this!
shadows screaming , the rev playin with them.. this is UNIQUE! (:
you look at them then and the you look at them now it's amazing they have came so far. That just proves how great a band they are. Rest in Peace Jimmy hope you are rocking heavens gates
Actually they were better back then.
***** Yeah absolutely but look how soft the have gotten now.I mean its not a pure heavy metal band anymore.
foREVerfanA7X they suck now tbh, st7t an waking the fallen were the only good albums tbh, new shit only hits newcomers

God bless you, dear camerman!
Sebastian Bochniak I say the same to the cameraman and thank you too
I wish there was some sort of direct recording... still, thanks for the upload! Gonna have a good hour!
I love the story you put it the description
best video of avenged sevenfold on youtube thank you for uploading this!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Thanks. Please share it around so more people can see what they were like before they got stadium sized.
oh man you dont know how thankful i am for you posting this!
Went to this tour in San Antonio, I remember My Chemical Romance as the co headliner, Beloved and Moments In Grace on the bill. It was in a venue with maybe a 500 person cap, it’s a Mexican restaurant now. I remember after the show hanging out behind the venue by A7Xs van talking with Johnny. The show itself was crazy the whole crowd pushed up against the stage so I just stood on the stage next to Zacky. I was maybe 14/15 at the time.
0 dislikes, only A7X can achieve this
And there went the streak..
I love old A7X!!
maikkeli damn :(
then theres that one guy...
+Official Co-D B. then theres that other guy.
Official Co-D B. exactly man.
I was at this show, livng in SLO finishing up my last year at Cal Poly. I also saw Lagwagon and Strung Out at Slo Brew around that time. Man, that town was fun.
Damn, this takes me back. I saw A7X back in '02 or '03 when they opened for Tsunami Bomb in some small venue outside Houston, TX. Similar small venue to this and me and my friends were front row. Of course, they played Lips of Deceit then too, which was my favorite song by them. Thank you for posting this!
Do you by any chance remember the whole setlist so we can post it on Setlist.fm ?
hey uploader, you are my hero for this :)
those must be the bravest and luckiest fans at that show
Damn, this is like my dream set list. At least for the most part. Thanks for posting this. Shadows voice is so fucking cashed in 2004. All of these videos are almost painful to watch, but he still does a great job.
Man I would have killed to be at this show back in 04, back when it was genuine A7X. Not the mainstream, radio friendly, Dad-Metal shit they play today. All their songs on Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet were outstanding genuine and unique sounding. Even though metalcore all sounds the same sometimes. nothing ever really sounded like old A7X to me. Their first two albums will always have a special place in my heart and they are the band that got me into metal
Real A7X ALL THE TIME , STFU . If you dont like new A7X get out of here . I love them foREVer
OK keyboard warrior I'll leave the page of this video on the internet of the band you claim to love but most likely didn't start listening to until after 2005. I am a true fan. I've bought their cds and merch. Their old stuff is just mountains above their current is my only point. You're entitled to your opinion but i won't stfu. Smd hater.
James Whitaker
Hail to the king definitely isn't the best album, its got some amazing moments on it though.
Nightmare was masterpiece, Self titled was a masterpiece, City of evil was a masterpiece and Waking the fallen was too.
But they are the farthest thing from mainstream.
No other band sounds anything like them, yes the new stuff does sound a little like metallica in many places but it still sounds like avenged.
I stand by the fact that they have never written a bad song and never will.
All the albums have amazing musicianship
All albums have amazing vocals
all have amazing lyrics.
@James Whitaker , TRUE fans like EVERYTHING of a band ! I love EVERYTHING from the beggining, Until The End and foREVer .Don't say that it's not REAL A7X , because I not agree .
Mawiiee Sevenfold
Until the end is so underrated!
It's crazy too see how nuts their fans were at this point, if you told any of them they would never release another metalcore album after this their would probably kill you in the parking lot 😂😂😂 awesome band tho
+infinitelz2 Their next album should be alot more like Sounding The Seventh Trumpet / Waking The Fallen:)
Vladimir Stroganoff that wont happen
City of evil was still a badass album. They probably miss the screams but the riffs, solos, drums, and vocals made up for it.
@@vladimirstroganoff4404 and matt would never able to sing anymore if he still singing like STST/WTF
True lmao
I love this recording, it’s so raw I love it
i really love how this video doesnt have a single dislike, thats awesome! sooooo great footage :D
OMG Thank You !!
It´s like looking into the past ... magic!
But fact that Jimmy died JUST 6 years after this :/ When i´m watching them and thinking about it ... uh, no ...
33:07 omg a goat!
Ahaha
Omg I'm deaddd 😂 I didn't expect to hear a sheep
Fuck Hail to the King THIS is music
Both are you are dumb as hell, Hail to the king is pure gold not shit its fuckin awesome
Hail to the king is shit, dumb ass. Go improve your poor music culture by listening real music, not shit.
Shut the fuck up dumb ass, I don't need to waste my time with someone who considers Hail to the King as music.
Of course your a clown. You said I'm satanic and I love Marilyn Manson and you don't know me at fucking all. You said HTTK is pure golden. You said that I don't like A7X but I love their 3 first albums, they turned into shit since the fourth.
And you're doing well your job, keep training man.
Game System Of course I prefer insults like those than calling someone a fucking clown. That's just a lame, excuse of an insult kids use now. And you want to go back and count how many times you've said shut the fuck up or dumbass? So don't play that game. Did I ever say that A7X is a real, heavy metal band? Or that I give a rats ass about heavy metal bands for that matter? So thanks for the tips and advice, but you're going to be surprised at how many fucks I give. And yeah, I know bands can make pretty bad albums. I don't like A7X's Sounding the Seventh Trumpet album at all really. And that's my opinion. So to answer a question before you ask it, I'm not a fan that's blinded by a band because their popular. I like A7X and Hail to the King and there isn't shit you can do about that. Before you throw the" yeah, well I think it's shit and that's my opinion" horse shit; I know there isn't anything I can do to make you like it. The reason I first commented was because of you plastering fuck Hail to the King on this video and then trashing it again in the comments. No idea why you did that? But man, you sure do have a big stick up your ass about people who don't agree with you on something. So I'll do the honors of welcoming you to the real world, where no one gives a flying fuck about you or what you think.
This is like finding a gold mine. 34 minutes of waking the fallen-era a7x? I NEVER thought we would see a recording of desecrate through reverance live. thank you so much for posting this.
Man thank you for uploading this i love you no homo
21:26 You can hear the rev scream is better than matt scream😍
this is some good ass quality for 2004
wow, this is incredible. it's amazing how much they've improved, syn fucked up a lot here, and now all of his performances are pretty much flawless. still this kicks ass! thanks so much for posting it!
That's my all-time favorite song I wish I could have been there to see that...
Thank you for posting this 💙💙💙
+1 for the description story :D
thx for posting this......was awesome to see
I was the only one watching in 2019?
No.... no offense meant, BUT most die-hard A7X fans (like me) love all of A7X's music because THEY make what they want to make despite the dictates of the public. That's one of the things I love about them. :) I love Nightmare, and the music video that they made for it. A7X FoREVer!!
What an amazing video and story. You had some balls to do that!
May 2004, 8th grade year. First heard remenissions on Sirius liquid metal channel. Been a fan since then. 🤟
Just 5 best friends doing what they love, from jamming in a garage to taking over the world
thank you so much for uploading this!!!
Thank you for uploading a legendary piece
thank you so much!!!! this is awesome to watch... saving in favourites!!
awesome story about how you filmed lost and found this video! pure gold!!
DANG! if a7x kept making music like this they would have been the most popular screamo band!there screamo songs are BEAST!!
we need this kinda heavy Sevenfold back again today !
not the shitty albums like the stage and life is but a dream
3:50 i find it impossible that after being screaming the whole concert he can still reach those notes! m shadows is god!
In the joy of watching this- I didn't click that Jimmy isn't with us any more.
To me he is alive.
DUDE A FULL 2004 SHOW! I have to be fucking dreaming!
The only thing i dislike in this video was that i couldn't see The Rev playing
Malo 7X yeah I wish his kick ass beats
this is prob my favorite out of any live shit ive seen.. i love it so much
never! too much time spent listening to them in high school during my teen years
Thank you so much♥
So raw just like their first album, I love it :')
When I heard Shadows say "How the fuck you guys doin?" I fucking freaked out and felt amazingly powerful. ^_^
I wish their new stuff would bring back some of the old Avenged. I'm about the freak out right now listening to the stuff from 2004.
EddieTheBunny sad to say but most probably it ain't happening again dude
The Rev is awesome ! a great live !!
Dude, thanks
Lips of deceit , remenissions, desecrate through reverance LIVE just Epic!
This is amazing...thanks you so much!!! :)
wow syn with an gibson lespaul thats amazing!!
Jimmy hasn't died.
He just went into the forest to become the FUCKING KNIFE MASTER
thank you so much for uploading this... i love you (no homo)
God sends us guys like you to record such historic moments
you can clearly hear noses and eyes getting popped during first breakdown of Unholy Confessions hah!! This era of punk and metal changed me forever. My best days for sure but that’s only because of shows like this.
the bell backing tracking in Chapter Four chorus is so fucking loud lmao
extremely rare + only 30 000 views, this is a gem.
It’s kind of upsetting that they don’t jam the outro of Reminissions longer like the CD version. That shit always has me head banging like a mother fucker.
I was so upset in 7th grade when my parents wouldn't drive me to Soma (venue in San Diego) when they came here to play Waken the Fallen. Love A7X for life from beginning to today but this was my favorite era of A7X that influenced me in much more music
Goddamn I wish I could have been at that show. Waking The Fallen is their best album. I too like pretty much everything they put out. The music they released after Waking was good, some of it great, but nothing they did or probably ever do will measure up to Waking in my eyes.
Here in 2023 - So sick. Their playing is so tight even back then.
Thumbs up if you think Waking the Fallen is there best album!
Watching on 2020 🤘
Come August, Waking the Fallen will be 10 years old. I hope they do at least one 10 year anniversary show in Orange County/LA and play the entire CD.
Seeing Shadows scream live is awesome
This is pure gold!
