I’m n00b but I’ve been creating polyrhythms fairly simply by looping 4on the floor 4/4 and using the ride to make patterns with 3 beats, then jam it till i don’t have to think too much whilst playing it cleanly. Then randomly use different pattern/timesig on the ride….love that at the end of t he video u asked to post a video.

There's a full tuning course on DBO Academy! It gets pretty extensive and each lesson builds on itself which can be hard to format in a UA-cam video. But we will see!
Double bass polyrhythms exemple : See in Architects-Doomsday/Wage War-Low/While she sleeps-You are we. So it's a metalcore groove ?! Definitively love that groove....

Hi Gabe, enjoyed the video and I need some advice/help. So i have been really stressed out for quite a while with multiple things and to top it off I was told some terrible news. The only thing I'm interested in at school is music and drumming even though I have a teacher who doesn't teach anyone a thing and doesn't know much about music. I chose music for my final options and sadly the school aren't going to carry on with it because there isn't enough people taking it. I have a private drum teacher (haven't been for a lesson for months because of lockdown) and have no way of taking music and getting a GCSE. What do I do, it's too late to move schools. Hi Adam, thanks for reaching out dude. Sorry to hear about everything, that sounds incredibly frustrating. My advice would be to start off by writing out your long term goals and trying to work backwards from there. What are the things that you'd have to put in place to be able to reach those. goals? I honestly created DBO Academy for situations just like this. When I was younger I felt very lost in my drumming path and I would have loved to have something like DBO Academy to guide me through my drumming journey as well as be surrounded by an incredible community of like-minded drummers. Learning this cool concept now although the floor tom as the first note serves no purpose IMO outside of coordination improvement. It's drowned out by the kick. Otherwise this groove has great feel👍
