  • The 2022 Giant Talon E 3 is really fun bike that won't break the wallet (for ebike prices). It's a really well built bike with quality features. Troy gives a full overview of the bike and some trail footage.

    I love mine, bought last year, and had the drivetrain changed to SRAM Eagle NX 50-11 12 speed cassette, added a dropper post, and my controller the came with the bike is, I believe, the Ride One Controller. It’s the one with the buttons, and no screen. I gotta tell you this bike rocks!!!

    Great video! Just picked up a used Talon e from The Pro's Closet. Nice bike, however, I took it out today and only got about 4.5 miles of real world trail riding (green level with some up and down hills) before the battery died. Seems difficult to find real world range on these bikes but if it's less than ten miles, that would be a deal breaker for me. Do you know what the real world mileage is?

    • @captaincucaracha
      @captaincucaracha Рік тому

      That is not typical just writing from my own experience, I have a bbhsd 1000w and my buddy also has the talon 3, which is geared more friendly to mountain biking, so that is more efficient on hills. We were able to track 9 miles on serious hills, up and down hundreds of feet across dozens of big and small hills, up to a commutation tower and the peak of the hill range, 9 miles before mine died, his lasted another 4 miles before his went out, keep in mind we were using our own power as well, to complete the trail. I feel the battery could be an issue, I would get a multimeter and do the typical tests for a dying battery.

    • @TroyandAndrea
      @TroyandAndrea  Рік тому

      Yeah, that is not typical. I would recommend having a local dealer take a look at it and make sure your battery is good. Hope you have success with it. Thanks for watching.

      My Talon e 3 gets me a range of 80+ kms on flat trails - and i am a heavier rider. It's not too difficult to pedal with the motor off, which is what I did recently for parts of a 100 km paved trail. I was so focused on conserving the battery that I still had 25% left at the end!

    hello troy can you please help me i have a question about my bike have the same unit as you are reviewing, is it normal when i stay and waiting for a red light stop and as i get ready for the green light i step on my pedal for ready to drive but then my motor is like trying little by little to moves as it sensore that im pedaling on it but in reality i just step on it and not pedaling on as i wait for green light

    • @TroyandAndrea
      @TroyandAndrea  Рік тому +1

      Yes, that is normal. Since it is pedal assist, it senses any pressure you give, interpreting that as you are ready to move. The only thing I know to do is to take you feet completely off the pedals at stops - a little annoying, I know, but it was the only work-around I found. Might want to ask you local rep about it too.
      Thanks for watching.
