- updating SFX for UFO 1970 - occasionally someone will protest that they would prefer the original graphics rather than any updates made by this channel and I do sympathize with that attitude - it took a while before I started watching the updated CGI on original Star Trek - (and some of that new Trek CGI is less than perfect) - but overall I think it makes TOS more accessible for audiences who have never even been exposed to early TV special effects which can be rather primitive - for those who may have some concerns about changing the show by changing some graphics it is not something I want to do at all - most of any new additions are taking advantage of all the high resolution NASA and ESA photography which was not completely available back in 1969-70 - used appropriately I think they make deep space scenes more immersive - meanwhile Meddings' model work for UFO is not something that should be interfered with as a general rule - there is zero room for improvement there - in this example I've added an appropriate "Sky" for the Moonbase reveal scene using NASA elements - that was not attempted in the original broadcast version of this scene - I think the new CGI is better and enhances immersion while watching the show - 🛸✨

back in the day they could not get a moving sky behind the model landscape - so they left it black - matching the old analog motion with my digital software gets tricky - 🛸✨
@@FandersonUfo It truly is amazing how techniques were invented right on the spot to eventually solve problems like putting in a moving sky. They had nothing to rely on except their ingenuity. No computers. No screens. Just their brains and their hands.
Oh I have no doubt it was a bit of a challenge but you managed quite nicely. Well done.
