Merle makes veganism seem so insanely delicious and tempting
That’s such a great compliment! 😁 Make sure you check out our recipes and hopefully you think the same😊
Go for it! Easier than most people think
And so beneficial in so many ways!! Even if you just swap to more plant based meals a day
You dont have to be vegan to eat and enjoy vegan meals
It is
"More Color = More Nutrients" guess ill be eating a lot of rainbow sprinkles from now on.
Snaffle those suckers by the handful, just to be safe. Scurvy who?
I used to eat those straight from the bottle. Now i’m sad, so don’t do that.
And Skittles!
😂😂 It’s ok to give yourself a little treat sometimes, check out our awesome desserts!🥰
well, yes, but actually no
Eating Vegan seems cheaper this way
It actually is SO much cheaper, you just gotta know how to use the right ingredients! 😁 Check out our recipes for more ideas 💡 🌱
Eating vegan is definitely not expensive. I'm not a vegan but I find myself cooking vegan recipes totally by accident. My favorite is a coconut lentil curry. I add extra water and make it into a soup as well. You can find a ton of recipes but this is my favorite: www.theendlessmeal.com/creamy-coconut-lentil-curry/
This came out to about $0.63 per serving without counting the spices which last a really long time. Soups are the easiest way to eat vegan!
N That looks so good!! I haven't had lentils in a while
Super cheap! Especially if you eat rice everyday
Definitely cheap, but only if you don't mind blandness... any tasty ingredients, including vegetables(due to needing larger portions), will be more expensive when vegan. The only vegan recipes I've found that work out cheaper per fill while also being tasty is a frozen vegetable curry.
Merle: "More colour = more nutrition"
Me, eating a rainbow grilled cheese sandwich : don't feel so guilty about it anymore
What’s a rainbow grilled cheese sandwich?
@@lg95 a regular grilled cheese except the cheese is dyed different colours, so the cheesepull looks like a rainbow
I just said this morning "Where is Merle" " i need some vegan inspiration" 💛☺
I was hoping to hear her classic "its ya girl Merle" but alas, not this time 😕
@@jasonstrickland9245 ikr☺
So ttue
We can give you some vegan inspiration too!😊😘
Honestly this has been so therapeutic for me as someone recovering from an ED and hearing about everyone doing keto and cutting out carbs. They make me feel bad for eating carbs but seeing someone as beautiful and healthy as Merle eat chickpeas (and a bun!) makes me feel so much better
Don't let them make you feel bad, cutting out entire macronutrients isn't healthy! Dr Greger did a whole series on keto diets on NutritionFacts.org, this is the playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL5TLzNi5fYd8H9nNYTHuxVBTCNP0hZDu3.html
Look closely. She looks tired, pale and depleted.
@@andreeazamfir9713 Right, its almost like there is a pandemic going on right now and people have stayed home/in doors a lot more than normal these past few months😐🤔 Naaahhhh it's her vegan diet🙄😑
@@soubifan700 If anything working from home saves commuting time so more sleep, but no one is stopping you to go out, get sun or workout. If she's promoting veganism with those puffy eyes, pale lips and tired demeanor, then I'll pass
@@andreeazamfir9713 some people have trouble sleeping, bruv
This is actually a pretty accurate portrayal of vegan life lmao, I'm pretty sure chickpeas make it into my diet every day
Same! And coconut oil/ milk makes it in quite a lot!!
doesn't it make you gassy?
H Y yeah they do but they have lots of protein and nutrients
Same for us! 😁 Make sure you check out our recipes for more ideas! ☺️
The Tasty Vegan I will! It’s hard to find recipes that are easy, quick and tasty!
I love how today I legit had baked falafels and hummus for dinner. (basically a lot of chickpeas) as this video gets posted. Idk I'm just weird and I love this coincidence.
Damn, that sounds selfish!
Sounds delicious omg
@@Trund27 what why is that selfish?
Could i have the recipe? Hehe would appreciate it.
“Makes me want to jump out of a window” me in any minor inconvenience
HAHAHA
Okay so, you need to try some Sri Lankan recipes!! Most of the vegetarian recipes are vegan because Sri Lankan cuisine is mostly coconut milk based.
CAN YOU NAME SOME SPICY OR SOUR SRI LANKAN FOODS ?? PLEASE . except dosa
@@sougataghar1179 Sure thing! Here are my favorites/the most popular and I separated between vegan and non:) Im from Colombo originally but I tried to do my best and list some dishes from the different ethnicities of the island.
.
.
Vegan-
Cashew Curry (My favorite)
Seeni sambol (Spicy)
Pol Sambol (Spicy)
Dhal Curry
Brinjall Moju (Sour)
Pol Rotti
Appa (Crispy sourdough crepe like thing! lol)
Banana curry
Pumpkin Curry
Pickled vegetables (Similar sour notes but not as spicy as kimchi)
.
.
.
Non Vegan
Kotthu (My favorite) (Spicy)
Lamprais (ALSO my favorite) (Spicy)
Biriyani (Spicy)
Chicken curry (Spicy)
Crab curry (Spicy)
Pepper Pork (Spicy and a tad sour)
Ambul Thial ( Sour Fish)
Deviled Shrimp (Spicy)
Shrimp curry (Spicy)
Jaffna goat curry
.
The beauty of Sri Lankan food is that there are many nuances in flavor depending on the different regions of the island. Traditionally you would have rice accompanied by 2 or more curries/accompaniments but if you just want to try something, I would recommend cooking up some Chicken curry or cashew curry or dhal curry and have it with some rice:) It is simple yet satisfying:)
.
AHHH, I could go on about the food of my origin country but I think I have listed quite a few good dishes to look into:)
I wish you the best and hope you try something! If you do, let me know:)
@@onellapiyatilake8672 thanks for this very detailed list! Everything sounds delicious!
I will try I'm from South India.
@@deepabn That's awesome! Let me know how it goes!
My ideas
Breakfast: chickpea salad filled sandwich
Lunch: chana masala with rice or roti
Dinner: falafel
Dessert: Chickpea cookie dough
Snack: chana Chaat (fruit salad with chickpeas)
I'm an Indian and the Chickpea curry is a staple in the household 😂 and loved the way how she knows the details of it and yh btw naan is different and Roti is different 😛🙌
Btw, Hershey's Special Dark has dairy in it! Even though it's dark chocolate! Warning for those who are vegans or lactose intolerant or have an allergy.
dove too. :(
Same for Lindt :(
me * sees merle in the thumbnail *
me * clicks immediatly without knowing what kind of video this is *
I gotta say, as a Pakistani, it was funny hearing her pronounce “garam masala” at 6:36 😂
Thank you. I needed this. I have 4 cans of chickpeas that have been in my cupboard for a year.
Yep I have a can that's been there forever and I had no idea what to do with it. lol
@@EmilyLuves another great idea is similar to the buffalo sandwich but its more like vegan chicken salad or tuna salad. It's soooo good on a sandwich, just don't forget the dill pickle YUM.
The breakfast hash is so delicious!! I just made it this morning and it was so good I ate the whole pan's worth. Paired really well with the greens and dressing (though my base was hummus since I didn't have any tahini); honestly I could see this also working as a hearty lunch salad, too. Thanks Merle!
That mousse blew my mind 🤯! No wastage cooking, I’m here for it! Thanks for sharing sis 💕
Thank you so much for this! I've been looking for new and exciting ways to cook with chickpeas, and I'll certainly be stocking up tomorrow when I do my grocery shopping.
You go so in depth and add welcoming to ANYONE who wants to try these fun recipes. Keep it up!💪🏽💎
”with lots and lots of ranch dressing”
*puts a tiny teaspoon of ranch dressing* 🥴😂
Easy for me. My middle-east culture as a vegan comes out.
Breakfast: Hummus veggie sandwich.
Lunch: Roasted chickpea salad, Fatoush style with baked pita bread for crunch and a lemony Tahini dressing.
Dinner: Falafels. Sides- pickled radishes, tabouleh and leftover hummus from breakfast.
Dessert: Chocolate Mousse or if you have time, macarons! 😁
Most of it is all simple to make that doesn't involve a lot of cooking.
I love chickpeas, I like opening a can and eating strait from the can. They are so tasty and have a great texture.
It's chana masala for lunch, breakfast and dinner at my house
Haha.. same
High five! I am bengali so we call it kabuli chhola.
SAME
Kunal Vyas you can’t give credit to India for something one person from India invented. And you don’t need to give credit because it’s food. Like if I become a world leader in the future people aren’t gonna congratulate the entire UK. If we go by that rule, you’ve got to give credit to someone every time you make a dish, which I’m certain you don’t do. Indians in comment sections are so annoying and overprotective.
Kunal Vyas only about 31% of India is vegetarian. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism_by_country “According to the 2006 Hindu-CNN-IBN State of the Nation Survey, 31% of Indians are vegetarian, while another 9% also consume eggs (ovo-vegetarian).” My point with the overprotectiveness was that no one else complains about dishes from their country not bring credited on these videos. And everyone knows chana masala is Indian anyway. Dishes are international nowadays. Everyone makes dishes from other places and you guys just need to get used to that because everyone else has done that too. And who would she theoretically give credit to? Because India as a whole didn’t invent this dish.
i've been needing a video like this for months i'm so happy
This is great! This is so cost-effective, healthy and cruelty free! I love it. I can't wait to make that hash for my brinner tonight!
Oh wow! Love to make all 3 and appreciate you making it look easy and anyone to make & eat.
I love it! Please keep with this series with other products: vegetable milks, fruits, etc!!!
Tbh I was wondering what ‘vegetable milks’ were for a sec 😂 but agree!
Ooooo Non dairy milk! Here in Brazil we say leites vegetais so I just got lost in translation (but not like the movie 😂😂😂)
@@dricasampaio9509 gotcha lol!
Made some buffalo chickpea salad the other day. It was beyond amazing.
Learned so much about ways to make chickpeas appealing.
Ooh I needed this video for inspiration, thanks!
for someone who looooves chickpeas and curry, i LOOVE this!! thanks for making this video!!
I could see myself eating all of this... job well done! I can’t wait to try them!! 😋
Merle's recipes are great.💙 Just watching her cooking and tasting delicious vegan foods heal me.🌿
Definitely gonna try these recipes!
Legit just stocked up on four 6 pound Costco chickpea cans ❤️- thank you 🙏!
This one is a win-win! Thanks Merle 🥰
Every single recipe looks amazingly delicious! I love chickpeas anyway so I’m really excited to try all of these recipes.
I swear she's becoming Aria 😂
IKR⁉️😆
It's the "make a little love" that screams Aria :D
That chickpea salad sandwich was terrific! I didn’t even use buffalo sauce but it was exquisite! Thanks Merle!
This was awesome!! Thank you
I need to make this for my mom’s birthday. Thank you!
I love the last one!
Loved this entire video!
The vegan chocolate mousse is so delicious! Wow, I didn't expect it to be so good! Thanks for this great discovery :)
We use the same milk it’s so good!
OMG Your cat was NOT having any sort of snuggle time! LOL Reminds me of my 19 year old kitty who passed away roughly 5 weeks ago. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to try these recipes! Much love from Montana. ✨💖✨
I have tried all these recipes, except the burger, and all I can say is - they are sooooooo good. My mousse didnt turn out so fluffy so I popped it in the freezer and turned it into ice cream. So good.
Que buena pinta tiene todo. Muchas gracias por este video! Lo pondré en práctica 😊
So glad you posted this... I got a bunch of chickpeas in my fridge I didn't know what to do with! 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
Great video, thank's so much!!!
Looks amazing and thank you :)
Defiantly gonna do the dessert and the curry. Liter have been craving a curry and the one on here is so easy. Can’t wait 😊
Going to try the chickpea sandwich today looks super yummy !
I’m not even vegan but I just LOVE watching Merle cook!
This is such an excellent and quality video, thank you!
Made breakfast hash today and loved it.
Thank you so much 😊
Love it. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing looking! Thanks Merle ✌
Ps. : if anyone doesn't have vegan mayonnaise where they are its easy to do using the chickpea water or aquafaba too. Just a pro tip 🌱
Thank you! I was just thinking that I have everything but the vegan mayo. Gonna give it a try
@@user-nn5wy1zn2c It's real easy and super quick to make it with an immersion blender. If you look for recipes online there are tons but feel free to ask if you need some help ahah
Hope you enjoy it!!
Or if you don’t feel like making the mayo, you can make the ranch using tahini, lemon, mustard, plant based milk and a lil salt and pepper.
I just made this recipe and wow it’s full of flavour and super simple - Word‼️As I’m a vegetarian and always enjoy making new meals - this is a keeper thx 4 sharing❣️
This Greek restaurant near me (aka my absolute favorite restaurant in all the world) has a signature dessert that's a chocolate mousse, but at the end they drizzle over it greek olive oil and course sea salt. Just something to try! Fantastic video. :)
great. Thanks for the ideas
love u and this recipe! hope u have a good day n wishin u nada but the best
I love Merle! and chickpeas! yayyy!
Great video!!! Definitely going to make these recipes. Thank you!
For your curry if you also add vegan yoghurt to make it creamy. It's so good.
I love chickpeas. Will surely try these recipes.
Recipes looked good! Silly question: where'd you get your bowl/plate thing?
Love thissss!!
Beer goes good with everything ❤️
OMG i made the breakfast hush it was so good, so satisfying!! Ty
I am making these recipes this week! Yummy 😋
I like the plates she is using, can someone tell me where to get them from?
I just got chickpeas so this really helps!
Thank you so much for this😍😍😍
Yasyasyas I love Merle oh my god
Actually recipes with easy ingredients and easy to make with that beautiful smile on the video 🤤
I needed this video! 😌❤
Seriously, in terms of vegan cooking, I wonder if there's anything tofu and chickpeas CAN'T do
They're the ultimate impostors ;)
"I like it hot" proceeds to add four flakes of chilli 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I would normally make the hash for a lunch meal prep but find it is a great way to use up older vegies for differ. Add some rice.
Love some Merle
I love the way she says 'garam masala'! 💕
Oh my gosh, more videos like this!!!!
So healthy and delish!
Discovering Merle is the best thing to happen to me in 2020
Merle, you've made my transition to veganism so easy and wonderful 🤗
She's adorable♥
Love this
Indian cuisine has a lot of amazing chickpea recipes which will give you a punch ...you should show some of them...easy to make and delicious!
Going to give this a try. May I ask about your dish or dishes. They go well with each dish you prepared. Thank you!!
💚💚💚Merle is my favorite person
I am def going to try the chickpea buffalo chicken sandwich!!
Thank you. Are the chickpeas pre soaked & cooked in the breakfast & dinner?
Merle on the thumbnail, instant like. Love you, Merle! :D
Great video Merle!
Thanks
Your cat is ADORABLE!!
I love this girl ❤️
Recently introduced them to my diet as I'm sick of meat and never liked the idea of eating meat. Got to admit feeling much lighter and weaker but at the same time better.
Every meal looked super delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipes! I was cracking up at 8:19 because thats the exact face I make whenever my cat gets away from me 😂
