Breast Implants vs Fat Transfer: Which Should You Choose?

It seems fairly popular to consider using your fat to enhance your breast volume. However, the current state of technology really is not there yet. As far as an enhancement, the volume required to make your breast larger would require several sessions of injecting fat.
In addition, if the implanted fat doesn't get enough blood supply, it will calcify, meaning small calcium deposits will develop and form benign cysts. These deposits could show up on a mammogram and raise concerns, leading to unnecessary biopsies to ensure cancer isn't present.
The fact that fat transfer could impact your ability to get a good mammogram in the future is enough reason alone to not use your own fat for breast enhancement. Breast implants have been around since the early 1960s and are the proven breast augmentation method.
Implants are usually placed underneath the breast tissue and either in front of or behind the muscle on the chest. Breast augmentation is the safest way to enhance the volume of the breast while doing mammograms.
