Worked like a charm on my remote whose battery died - no re programming required, just replace battery and you are good to go! Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!
Purchased just a replacement shell for my 2006 Explorer because the notch to hold the key chain was broken. You vid was straight forward with the antics. Thank you!

I apologize for the late response, for some reason I don't always get a notification when there is comments on my videos. Sometimes your remote may require reprogramming, especially if it was one added to the vehicle but then again it does depend on the make or model. Have you also tried cleaning the buttons when it was apart also??? Here is a tutorial on how to reprogram the remote autoforum.classifieds1000.c o m/Ford-F250/keyless_entry_pad_reprogramming#chitika_close_button (remove spaces)
Thank you for your video. My fob for my 2005 Ford 500 had broken at the small loop at the top (the loop had broken off), so I couldn't hang the fob on a key ring anymore. When I checked the prices at dealerships to have the dealers replace my old fob for a new fob -- the prices were way too high for me (I think like about $200 ... you auto experts can correct me if I'm wrong). I found a new fob on Amazon ($6.98 and no postage since I'm an Amazon Prime member). I thought -- "What the heck? I will only lose about $7.00 if it doesn't work." I followed your video (I watched it twice), and I now have the new fob working just as well as the old one. The old fob had never stopped working, I just couldn't hang it on my key ring anymore (pain in the neck ... always misplacing it). I am no mechanic. I'm just a 56-year-old woman who thought that it was worth the effort to try to fix it myself. Thanks to your video and Amazon's excellent price, it was so easy and so cheap to swap out. I did no reprogramming -- it just worked as always in the new case. Holy smokes -- who'd a thunk it! By the way, if you need a new fob, at Amazon, just search for a fob for your vehicle year, model and make. I found mine in seconds. Again, thank you for the excellent video! It is easy to follow, quick and to the point ... very well shot also.
Awesome to hear and thank you for sharing your experience! Ebay is another great source for buying replacement buttons and cases too. I have bought a couple myself and it beats getting a full replacement from the dealer.
Thanks this is just the information I need. I just bought a 2003 Ford Expidition and one remote is dead and the other is weak must be right at the car for it to work.
+SpecialKindOfDouble No problem, glad to help out! It may need to be reprogrammed. Here is the procedure: 1. Close all doors in the vehicle, then open your driver's door and press the unlock button on the driver's door while it is still open. 2. Turn the ignition to the run position eight times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in run. The door locks will lock and then unlock to confirm that you have entered programming mode. 3. Within eight seconds press any button on the non working keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming has been entereed correctly. If you only have one remote then skip to step five. 4. Within eight seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will then cycle again to confirm programming has been entereed correctly. Repeat step four for all other remotes. 5. Turn ignition off or wait 20 seconds to end the programming mode. Locks will again cycle to indicate that you have ended the programming mode.
@4DIYers:Well, I finally decided to try changing the battery on the fob and found your video. Thanks, it's a good video. However, after changing the battery..it still didn't work. The fob has 3 buttons- door lock, unlock, and alarm. The lock and unlock would not work, but the alarm button worked. It's for a '98 Mercury Mountaineer. I heard replacing the battery require reprogram'ng of the fob,but why would the alarm button work? Programming applies to lock/unlock only? Luckily, i have a 2nd fob.
i have the remote you have in the video is there also a battery in the key for the ignition my car sometimes wont start when turning the key but sometimes does
I think one of the buttons on the circuit is stuck and i mean REALLY stuck so my unlock button doesnt work, do i fix it? Or do i buy another and if so where can i get one because mine came with the car
My expedition remote stopped working. I hope it’s the battery! It’s a 99’ model so I can only hope that’s the case. My key cylinder is bad, so I cannot open it through the door, only the back glass 😒
My key fob works for doors but won’t work on trunk hatch back 2005 focus button on dash does not open trunk either I pushed fob to open trunk it clicked but would not open had to use key now I can’t close hatch lock is staying open any ideas how to fix it thank you
Was the remote working previously? If not then the remote may not be programmed to the vehicle or the remote is faulty. If it was, it may also need to be programmed or you have a faulty battery.
4DIYers remote was not working when I bought the car, it was sitting for 2 years so maybe remote is bad like u saying I’m gonna need to buy new one if I do how do I program new one?
Ok, new battery didn't work, went through the reprogramming and now my electric locks don't work, tried to run through it again to see if this engaged the locks and it didn't. darn it!!!!!!
I have no idea what you mean by this sorry I have the 2001 Ford Focus zx3 Hatchback and when I bought my car my a car dealer not ford it did not come with the remote so I had to order one which I of amazon for about 8.00 I had no idea the dealer would charge that much for one glad but I have no idea what you mean by this when I get it could someone please explain Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 6 seconds.what do I run times within 6 sec don't understand what this mean 2. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode. 3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. The system will chime once to confirm programming. 4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. System will chime once to confirm programming. 5. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.
When it says turn the ignition to run, it does not mean start the engine. It should say in your owners manual of the different positions in the ignition switch. One will be off, another accessories to run the stereo and windows, some have an on which is similar to accessories but the lights and gauges are on, there is a run which allows the engine to be on once you trigger the start position of the key switch. The run position is the last position before the stringed start position.

Did you have your camera on a tripod? You really shot the video well, especially considering how small the subject matter is.
Can't imagine how it worked without reprogarmming at a locksmith. I guess you swapped all the old innerds in the new case.
Great video. Thank you
Thank you for useful video.
I don't like the style of ford focus 2005. Is there any other style remote which is compatible with this car?
Thank you! Helped me solve my problem
Thank you so much for the lesson.

Try this video here ua-cam.com/video/8QnPyUFypWQ/v-deo.html You usually need a working remote in order to program a new remote.
when i change the battery ??? need to new program the key or no
No you shouldn't. Don't forget to subscribe!
I love you.
i change the battery but it still doesn't work please help.
How do you clean it?
For the plastic case and buttons, a soft tooth brush and soap. For the circuit board, use electronic contact cleaner.
just changed my battery with a rayovac cr2032, but it wont work
Ensure the battery, then try reprogramming it. Procedure is located here www.4diyers.com/tutorials/video/8FfAPK1jmUo.php
+4DIYers thanks!!. I'm looking forward in doing this reprogramming, again thanks..
