KINGFISH 1.02: LIVEBAIT RIGS

When it comes to being successful at using live bait to target yellowtail kingfish having confidence in the construction of your rigs and how the bait is presented are key factors. In this instalment of Journey of a Fisherman we demonstrate Tony’s 3 favourite rigs which have accounted for literally 1000s of yellowtail kingfish both personally and on his busy charter boats.

But happens to the balloon ? Wouldn’t a sliding float fixed to the main line be a better option ? Just asking

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Hey awesome fishing. I landed one off the stones (80cm King) on 9lb mainline to a 15lb leader on a 20gram slug. Since then I've gone after them properly but was wondering what size hook and line is best? Thanks.

When using the balloon system do you retrieve them afterwards? Won’t sea turtles or other creatures try to eat them? Pollution?
Do you know of a floating device to use that is biodegradable?
