    Thanks for doing these videos. It’s really refreshing to see a good golfer who doesn’t have a 110mph swing speed. I am a slower and smoother swinger and there are very few guys on UA-cam like that. Thank you!

    I love your videos first of all!! And you’re extremely consistent.. I hope one day to post a round with you!! I personally don’t think you need all that swing training to gain a few more yards!! You have an incredible tempo and your balance is superb!! You ever thought about holding your lag a little longer and just whipping your hands thru? I think that’ll put you back at 95 easy if not more!!

    I've done some driver testing of my own and yep some days I swing faster than others. My window is about 5mph (89-94). For the last 2 years every practice session with driver, I spray the club face with foot powder spray to track where I'm striking the ball. Now when I'm on the course playing I can tell right away if a drive is toward the toe, heel or high/low on the club face. All the visual data has helped me develop a feel for it, and helped me hit center club face more consistently. Great video, best of luck with your strength & speed training!!

    Spin helps keep the ball in the air which should mean more carry. For those of us with slower swing speeds, more carry = more distance.

    I hate lifting weights. I just jog, and it helps with cardio. I just recently completely changed my swing. Basically copied Collin Morikawa's swing except the wrist bow. And the results are mindblowing. Huge improvements in ball flight and yardages. But yes, being stronger and faster helps BIG TIME in any sport. Oh and, we're the same age. I'll be the big 5-0 in September.

    I have been waiting for the replacement for the low spin head. Not tried the helium shaft tbh as i have found a shaft that is 100% suited to my needs and wants. Cheap shaft too, SK Fiber 60° counter balanced, with ideal torque. As you get more used to your new driver set up i expect more distance will be found. Great vlog

      @@mistahshorthitter just a thought, as your swing speed gets faster with the weight work you are planning you might need a lower torque shaft as anything higher than 3.0 will probably see the shaft tip closing at impact and the dreaded hook coming into play. Probably a while to go but worth thinking about in the future.

    You are infinitely better than i will ever be. That said, i watch a lot of swings and notice something in yours. To me it looks like you reach the ball and then coast. Fast swingers look like they really accelerate and punch through the ball. I would be curious to see if your speed increases if you just mentally try to have as much, or more speed two feet after the ball as at the ball. I'm glad i found your channel. Keep up the good work.

    • @mistahshorthitter
      @mistahshorthitter  Рік тому +2

      What you are describing is pretty much impossible for me to do lol. Fast swingers really swing faster at all stages of the downswing. You can only swing as fast as your body has the ability to break on your through swing. If you don't have that power you would swing an inevitably injure yourself. Think of it this way. If you gave me Bryson's swing speed without his upper body and core strength I would swing faster than my body could take and I would immediately injure myself. In fact, I would probably fall down on the through swing. Thank you for watching!

    You want to pick up 30-35 more yards? Tilt your spine to your right toward your back foot. Take you left eye and focus it on the back of the ball. Hit up on the ball and it will increase your trajectory which will translate to longer carry. Post 20 and sent me a thank you. BTW- you need better contact. The weights will help but your fix is a simple one. Cheers

    Shaft change can make a world of difference. I believe I need a different shaft on my current driver (Mavrik). I am curious to see how it would affect your swing speed if did mallet and tire training. I feel like the only reason my swing speed is higher than average(117-125 depending on the day) is because of growing up swinging an axe chopping wood. I didn't do much with golf other than going to a driving range a couple times during the summer my whole life until a couple years ago. I feel like my lower body activates much better than most of my friends(most of whom were good baseball players growing up) simply because i was swinging something much heavier than they were and had to use my lower body to get power into the swing. I think its the same premise as speed sticks, just much heavier weight at the end.
