Experts explain why Jacaranda trees aren't so purple this season

  • If you’ve been wondering where all the beautiful blooming jacaranda trees are in San Diego this year, you’re not alone. It seems the bloom is a little less brilliant this time around.
    “They’ve been blooming maybe later than usual and also not as much as previous years,” said Marcela Gracia.
    CBS 8 compared footage of the blooming jacarandas from last year on Clairemont Drive to what they look like now, and we noticed a big difference.

    Not in my neighborhood,they’re as brilliant as they ever were ,I live in Southern California,they are absolutely beautiful,I was raised in Anaheim California,my street was festooned with these ethereal trees ,my aunt used to get the pods that dropped from them and make cute little bugs out of them .
