I live in Zone 7-TN- and the Japanese beetles will decimate my 2 dwarf weeping cherries so I now watch for them almost daily starting end of May so they will not lose very much leaves. The beetles like these trees better than my roses or crape myrtles.

I bought two weeping cherries out of a catalog a couple years ago. They were only 4 inches tall & on their own roots. They grew 4' the first season and the second season they look just like the one in your video. I had to train them of course. After watching your video and seeing yours is grafted not once but twice, it makes me wonder what to expect out of mine. Any experience with these trees grown on their own roots? We love them so far.

We have a bunch of wheeping cherrys on our property they can actually get pretty big if given the right conditions but I never liked them that much because they’re to short to go under so you can’t use them as shade trees

Hello. I have a beautiful weeping cherry tree that only bloomed on the first year that was planted. It's been 3 years now and I can count how many flowers I've been getting, least than 20 each year. The tree looks great and healthy. It gets plenty of soon, from noon to evening. I'm in Northwest Indiana, zone 5. Could you tell me what I can do to get the tree to flower again?

In zone 5 of southern Wisconsin, can you prune the weeping cherry in the fall when all the leaves fall off, or is it best to wait to late winter/early spring? I planted mine a year and a half ago. Looks very healthy but needs to be thind out and shaped a bit.

We had a very wet spring and a drought during the summer. I found aphids and some white on the bark. I sprayed with Neem Oil regularly and it seemed to help but the leaves are small, curled and somewhat dry. They haven't had any growth since spring and it's now August. The bottom, however, has a new branch with giant beautiful leaves growing straight up. This must be the grafted tree on the bottom? I have let it go because I feared the top was dead. What do I do? Also I live in zone 6a

Thanks for the overview Jim. Good information. Here in New England we do have to worry about Winter Moth infestations. The tiny caterpillars attack just at the end of blooming. It’s frustrating because the reommended insecticide is spinosad which is toxic to bees, so one has to time it just right so the bees are done with the plant and spraying is possible. What fertilizer doo you recommend - high in Nitrogen? Thanks again.

We purchased this tree last summer it is lovely and we are excited for its continuous growth. This summer about a month ago we discovered a split in the bark of the tree about three feet mid tree. We are very concerned about the tree, we have also noticed some small split on one of the branch’s one of the larger limbs. Do you have any thing to share with me to help this tree to heal it up. We did have a small wire around the trunk to keep our yard rabbits etc to stay off of it. The wire did not touch the tree. We have had two very warm summers for Wisconsin. Bu5 the tree looks beautiful very green nothing that’s showing me a lack of water. What do you recommend for a fertilizer for these trees. Thank you so much!

our weeping cherry has a few branches that start near the base and have shot up vertically and tower above the main canopy. I'd say the main canopy is about 7' high and these vertical branches are another 6' above that. Should we cut them off? If so, do we want to cut them where they stem from the main trunk?

I had a pink weeping blossom. I planted in a container bigger than the original pot. It has lots flowers in spring when we got it. Then the blossoms went dry and brown quickly but was full of lush green leaves. Now it’s lost its leaves. Will it come back in spring? What should I do? Feed? I water regularly and I’ve moved it to a less open space where the wind gets at it. It’s in sun. We are in England so it’s autumn now. I’m worried it won’t survive. I bought it in memory of my mother just after she passed away.

When I trim the bottom of the branches (as they touch the ground) The branches actually grow more branches off from the one I cut. Should I just keep cutting them? Also this is mid July and some of the leaves are turning yellow and falling off. What should I do about that? We have had a lot of rain. I just bought 2 of these that are around 5.5 feet tall already. They were in 3-4 gallon pots . The leaves that are on them look like they were just budding , but brown and dry looking. The seller said they got frost bitten . I’m in TN ( zone 7) . They were only $36 each . So I went ahead and bought them despite the shriveled brown leaves . Is there some way to tell if they’re still alive ? You say they’re pretty cold hardy . So it makes me wonder how the leaf buds got frost bitten . There is no sign that there were any flowers . The seller didn’t mention the age . Think he may have said they were 2 years old . Can’t remember cuz I bought several trees that day . Thanks for this video. It’s been helpful 😊

Only time will tell. Keep them watered but let them dry out in between. May take a few weeks to fully recover

I was excited to see your video but dismayed that you are not answering qustions. If you answered a few, it would reduce the meed for questions.

Why is this a video? Better in written form with a few pix.

Same can be said for any plant video. They're not very animated.

I need help or advise on how to treat my fountain weeping cherry for pest. I believe I have white ashy mildew and rough bumpy bark. It is now Sept and would like to know if I can treat now or wait, what to us that is safe for my tree and flowers around it. Thanks.
