I think there is an ad team patting themselves on the back right now for tripping on their face and stilling nailing the Hail Mary.
Probably it was the "bringing random people" into it that really caused Xbox's upper executives to panic. Imagine the headlines if some random person was killed in an Xbox ad, not to mention in a big company like Microsoft there are probably going to be more then a few "safety Karens".

That scene at the end really is cinematic. It's mainly been used as an Armored Core 6/Titanfall/Pacific Rim meme and it really fits well. Looks like a heroic sacrifice at the center of a severely damaged badass mech.

I appreciate the synergy in these. Accidentally light your house on fire by firing your guns in Halo? Just swap to Doom and glory kill something to put it out. Entire house is soaked from too many glory kills? Play some Forza to dry it out. Engineering at it's finest.
House too cold from the huge fans? Back to bombing stuff in halo.
