    Well done. Easy and straight forward as I thought it would be. Just wanted to see if it had been done. Thanks for the reassurance

    If you want to mock them up with something more rigid that will retain it's shape, just use some thinner sheet metal, or thicker aluminum foil. You may want to add packing tape so it doesn't rip easily.

    Nice!... I made my light bar mounts out of a barn door hinge lol... they are mounted on my car that’s in my profile picture
    Edit: I bought the hinge for under $10

    What about windnoise and glare I have tried several different light bars with different brackets and the wind noise is crazy.i wound up buying the magnetic brackets and moving the light bar back a little.. no noise and absolutely no glare.. just what I had to do on my 2010 Tahoe and 2003 suburban

    Great Design! But the light bar is a bit too much on the windshield. Is possible to use the same technic to install further back?

    Vibration cracked mine and I didn't know and light fell and cracked windshield one day when I stopped at red light and I used 3/16" steel so the bolts will hold but metal not so much

    So I searched on line exact same bar but I the holders as I call them they have to be mounted in on the roof seen many videos hanging right above the roof but yea can I get in trouble with installing them on the roof?

    That hardware will more than hold. Many of the bracket kits use pop rivets to hold

    I did exactly the same thing on my ford custom. But once going over 60mph, the cooling fins on the led bar start resonating with the wind and you get this fucking loud whine noise >.<
    Had to take it off, it was just unbearable

    • @ThatFoolChrisDailey
      @ThatFoolChrisDailey 4 роки тому

      Ive read that you can put some rubber tubing or weather seal on the fins and it should help with the whistling that you're talking about. I havent tried myself yet since i dont have a roof mounted bar but it maybe worth the shot

      Angle of the light and they make rubber pieces that snap into the find so they wont vibrate but i have only had the humming noise when doing 80+mph

    Silicone absorbs water and gets hard over time. That is a bad idea on a car.
