- The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t avoid the sweep last night losing to the Denver Nuggets 113-111. LeBron finished with a game-high 40 points and was one assist shy of a triple-double. LeBron also wasn’t able to connect on the potential game-tying drive at the buzzer after he was blocked by Aaron Gordon. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to Lakers being eliminated from the NBA Playoffs.

It’s not complicated, the Nuggets are just better. They played four games, and they ended up all close, but the Nuggets showed how a good team is supposed to close out a game.
That's not how a good team is supposed to close out. They did well with the last play of the game but mistakes were made in the 4th quarter by Denver. Imo, MAlone should have given Jokic a 2 minute game time rest at the start of the 4th. Murray could have sealed the game if he made his floater. He could have burned a little bit more time towards the end but they got the W and completed the sweep

Facts.Their stars were fantastic and when they needed it someone different stepped up every game. Gordon in game 4, KCP was fantastic the entire series , Brown made very timely shots througuout the series, and the ball found MPJ off of defelctions and offensive rebounds for tiomely 3s many times. They are a true team with elite stars. They should win the finals.

As a Lakers fan, congrats to Denver. They played very well as a team, and they kept their compsure all series. Murray & Jokic are simply an amazing duo and the Lakers couldn't stop them.
As a nuggets fan, as much as I hate the lakers and how they are worshipped by dudes like these two, I really appreciated how the lakers team played this year. Good defense and smart coaching, some underdogs and superstars, it didn’t all come together but it was compelling to watch. I grudgingly admit they seem to find good players and they maximize their value. DLo might be beyond them tho.

Wrong that we couldn't stop them, it's impossible to stop them so you should not be even mentioning that. We lost because we couldn't stop the role players and they won because their role players out played our role players. Check this out, Gordon averaged more than 10 pts per game, KCP 15, MP 15. Lakers Reaves the only one with 15 and plus per game, DLO no show, Vanderbilt no show. If DLO, Vanderbilt were averaging 15 pts a game than we would have won.

Will never forget having to listen to ESPN commentary on the big screen at Ball Arena in Denver at the watch party and even with the Nuggets on the verge of a sweep, the commentators are just rambling on about how "I can't say enough about what Tristan Thompson is doing" and can't seem to find enough to say about a previously written off team sweeping LA.
I'm going to be real, watching this as just a basketball fan since I don't like either team; I felt like the Nuggets were just too damn good. Murray couldn't be stopped, and Jokic was also unstoppable. Nothing the Lakers did really could stop them; it's that simple. They were just better.
I agree but me being a celtics fan, despite not being a laker fan... at least the lakers gave the nuggets a fight every single game. Most were just the lakers not closing out and the nuggets did. The biggest loss was game 3 by 10 points. The series seems one sided but again all the games were close. Celtics are the opposite. Most have been blowouts and the celtics just look lost, they ain't fighting like the Lakers did.
