I love how this characterizes Penny less as purely an apologetic leader trying to save her friends, and shows a lot of the rebellion that still resides within her. The way she chides the school and calls for bringing down to system is so hype.
Juno’s version: a desperate final stand for Penny to make sure that her friends are safe
Moti’s version: same intention, but way more of a Revenge of the Nerds vibe to it
Yeah, Moti's penny is a bit more... aggressive than Juno's version

Something i've noticed is that when the digital autotune is in play she's speaking like cassiopeia telling people to stand up and fight and while singing normally she's herself giving reason to why she started all this in the first place it's a stroke of genius. with all this combined this comes out as a banger.

I love this so much! To me it feels like she isn't even talking to the player, she's talking to the people who belittled her and her friends, to the teachers who turned blind eyes, to the people who didn't bother helping her because she was getting good grades. Definitely gives the vibe of gifted kid burnout which I see Penny experiencing

I love the fact, intentional or not, that the Cassiopeia voice for her sounds like Velma from Scooby Doo at times. Penny always gave me a slight Velma vibe. Fitting, since Velma is the only core member of the gang to have also been one of the guys in a mask. (I won't tell which movie tho ;))

Exactly what I was going to comment. Juno's song is Penny's final battle for the bonds she has with her friends even as she knows that she has to lose for everyone to get their good ending.

The actual *PASSION* that went into that final chorus. Good lord.
I love the different versions you and Juno's versions of this song bring out two different versions of the ost.
Yours is reflecting the past, Penny's title of the big boss of team star, the one standing up for the misfits of the school, helping them stand up when the teachers refused.
Meanwhile Juno's is about the present, realizing that the goal of the team completely flopped with the five leaders now one the edge of expulsion. Penny is now fighting desperate to disband the team so that her friends can live better lives, at the cost of the quality of her own. Despite this, that one piece of her still wants the team to continue, deciding to give one last battle in the team's name as the head honcho.
Okay, I know I already commented, but I just have to point out that I love the fact that the vocals in this song start with a mechanical warp that slowly fades out into a human’s voice. By the time we hear the final “I will find a world where I don’t have to hide” the voice has shifted back to Penny’s real voice. If that isn’t symbolism, then I don’t know what is. Well done, MOTI.

The vocal effects fading in and out at certain portions just really sells the duality (tri-ality?) of Penny’s character, as not only herself, but the Big Boss and Cassiopeia.
The most distorted parts are the parts specifically referencing some sort of vengeance against the system, referencing how she took it into her own hands as the Big Boss and Cassiopeia.
The more personal parts are left alone, just Penny, singing her heart out. This is just one person against the world, essentially.

I'm reminded of how Zinnia's song was handled (where Juno focused on the battle itself, while MOTI focused on Zinnia as a character).
Juno's version portrays Penny as we see her in the game itself, someone who realizes that Team Star has crashed and burned and now just desperately wants her friends to survive the fallout, regardless of what happens to herself.
This version describes Penny's motivations and to an extent who she is in the eyes of Team Star, someone who has experienced the failings of the education system firsthand and now seeks to defy it by being the voice of the chased and confused, the freaks and the losers.

When I first knew of Cassiopeia in game, I felt an urge to question them on what they really wanted with Team Star. Justice? Revenge? When Team Star was first introduced, I thought they were just trouble-making delinquents, but as I progressed, it turned out that Team Star were the victims of some injustices from the academy and that Cassiopeia was none other than Penny herself. I understood the pain Penny and Team Star went through and can relate to it in a way. The teams in core Pokémon games are proving to be not villainous at all since Team Yell from Sword and Shield who earned my respect and as for Team Star, they needed help with the pain they were going through, and it would've been heartless of me not to show them any empathy.
Team Star's story is probably one of the few times that makes it feel like YOU'RE the villain. Hell, technically a Team Villain since via Penny and Clive, you're basically leading a three-person team.

Honestly, it's a pity that they're retiring Ash. This song made me think about how absolutely _epic_ a Starfall Street with Ash would be, considering what he's like personality-wise. Ash vs Penny would have the potential for an interesting clash of ideals.
Well we seen Ash is a bullied victim too but he used that as drive to only try harder. But for those in Team Star they couldn't handle it all alone and united. So neither way would be wrong so I can see what you mean

I’m doing an Ash challenge run of Scarlet and I just battled Penny and Totodile beat Sylveon and evolved and now I’m imagining Croconaw is gonna stay with Team Star as a Mascot since he loved Penny’s music.
Storylines like Penny's make me all the more glad I was homeschooled.

Eeey thing's out. Song, of course, sounds amazing! I'm a big fan of the Revenge of the Nerds vibe and I am also contractually obligated to love any song with Star stuff, so. Y'know. Big fan of the like... garden imagery? Idk the "they leave behind all the flowers on the wall" line, my brain keeps going "woooow what a neat way to get across the wallflower concept SO NEAT!!!!!" And then there's the like, electric-songing aspect of the mix? Idk what to call it it sounds cool feels very proper for Nerd Queen. Maiden absolutely KILLED IT with the vocals, it's honestly wild what a good job she did adjusting to my vocals- the transition seems seamless to me. The ending part especially is INCREDIBLY COOL and inspiring and gets me super hyped up!
Art loves lovely- the energy in the big battle image is really cool and I love how excited and full of life Penny looks in the image! I loooove the lighting in the shot junebird did, it really nails the night vibe and Penny looks really pwetty!
I'm very honored to be Penny Pokemon's voice for this and the dub. I've come to really love and relate to her a lot, so I hope people are looking forward to the Team Star stuff we've got coming up!

Idk if this was intentional, but the singer’s vowels are bright. What that means is that the vowels aren’t dark, aka more pronounced and lower. What dark vowels do is make you sound more mature. Brighter vowels makes it seem more like a kid/teen. This fits because Penny is a kid. For example, 3:18 is where the vowels are darker and most of the time when she says “we’re” are lighter vowels. There’s a clear difference and I love both for this song

Actually, the way I see it is that Penny is singing this version of the theme during the battle, while Juno's version is her internal monologue occurring simultaneously.

Your version, MOTI, seems more to be *Cassiopeia's* theme - the anthem of the Big Boss of Team Star at their height, calling out in defiance of those who would put her and her friends down, regardless of the possible consequences.
And I honestly love the dichotomy between them. Excellent work.
Juno's song might have said "Cassiopeia or Penny, it's no matter" but really, that's because they're both tired and done with it, unified in Penny's purpose. Whereas here, the difference DOES matter and Cassiopeia isn't about to back down. She goes by both names, but it's the first that's the relevant one here.

Penny is my second favourite character in the whole games of pokemon, i had a rebellion/resistance in my school (last year) but now that all of us are in different classes we cant really resist as last year, but its still exists, we called it Ohaatakar and noone from the teachers know that we have an rebellion against the school, i’ve also been bullied (but by the teachers), i felt the same way as penny (and arven cuz his dad was bad and mine’s too)

Pennys Theme is a banger anyway, but Lyrics make it even better. She is a character that don't talk much, still we know how she is. So a lyrics version of her theme are a perfect adition. I feel Team Star as much as possible, because I know their situtation pretty well.
