CIMT was pioneered by Prof. Edward Taub. Originally controversial because it was tested on monkeys (Silver spring monkeys) but became a huge breakthrough treatment for stroke victims.
His life story is very interesting, so are the stories of his countless patients.
An excellent read on this is chap 5 of the book "The brain that changes itself" by Norman Doidge.

I've got a PVC rectangle about three feet tall and four feet wide. Diameter is 1-1/2 inches glued together. I started off with no weight and strapping and weights to the top bar, I added weights and now use about 35 pounds of weight. I can extend and pull back the frame for about two hours, thirty minutes per set. My strength AND speed are much better.
