New tas method i guess
I remember having a cartridge with this game and it had this same glitch/bug, i don't know, it was a Japanese cartridge. I also had other one which was the English version and it was normal.

It just happened. Could be an emulation glitch (which sadly isn't acceptable) or in the game itself.
