    Thank you, I’m buying a Joy ❤ I love how you say we are all connected. As soon as you said that, I thought Wow, I believe we are all connected and think of that daily whilst I’m making decisions and going about my day to day life.

    Wow, what am AMAZING wheel and review. Thank you for your time! We live in New Zealand and love the Ashford shop. My mum has a Ashford Traditional that I learned to spin on; she upgraded to a double treadle which makes for beautiful movement. Recently we bought a secondhand Ashford Traveller for our 18 year old daughter and I think we’ll make the double treadle kit her Christmas gift. Our girl made a drop spindle using household items and learned to spin by watching UA-cam. She got me back into spinning after 20 years by showing her the technique on my Mum’s wheel ❤️ Spinning is wonderful meditation 😊

    As someone who crochets, knits, and felts, I have wanted to learn to spin my own yarn. I have bought a drop spindle and an e-spinner. I have been looking at the Ashford Joy but am waiting to see how well I like the drop spindle and the e-spinner. I am drawn to the Ashford Joy because it does not occupy much room.

      That's exactly why I got it. It's small, easy to carry, and store. Good luck. ~Shiree

    Hi, do you ever get loose footmen? On your Joy 2 I have the same. Mine seems to click almost. Not really a click but more like when your joints rub or gets stuck. I did give it a good oil and tuned it up with a good clean. It worked for a while it was good but next day the click was back.
    I used to house sit a cat was lovely to me at first while but when I brought my dog to stay with me the. Cat turned on me and hated me. Lol first time I was rejected by a cat. Love your videos. And love that spinning room set up. I spin in the kitchen when the sun is shining ☀️☀️☀️ and I open all the windows.

      No, I have not experienced that with my Joy 2. I have been in communication with Ashford for other things (not tech. issues) and they are fabulous. You could go to the source and ask their advice. Good luck with that.
      Cats are wonderful, but complex. My three keep me on my toes for sure.
      Happy Spinning in the sunshine!
      Thanks for watching.

    Hi. Thanks to your video, I am now ordering a Joy 2 with the jumbo bobbin. But what is the flyer+bobbin called that moves the yarn automatically? I've looked at the wooleewinderstore but cannot find anything.

      Congratulations, you're going to love it. Look for Oak at wooleewinderstore.com, it's compatable with Ashford Joy 1 & 2. You're on your way to spinning that creates peace and joy. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree

    Hi! I have a question about the woolee winder, do you need to buy their bobbins? Or with the ashford ones work? I’m planning to order them, but I wanted to know if I needed the extra bobbins or not. Thanks so much for your help.

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 роки тому

      Yes you do need to buy the bobbins that come with the Woolee Winder.

    Can’t decide if I should get a e spinner or wheel. I’ve never spun before. What do you think is easiest to learn on?

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 роки тому +1

      I have both and both are great. The e-spinner takes out the treddling aspect, so one less thing to learn. However by keeping with it you'll be spinning in no time on either one. Look at the whole picture and what you think you will enjoy using over time. The e-spinner is it's small and compact. The Joy spinning wheel has the peddling motion, the drafting, and the whir of the wheel, and those are so relaxing. Good luck. ~Shiree

    Greetings. I have some questions I was hoping you could answer for me. I have been sinning Cotten with a drop spindle for about 6 months. I am also now growing cotton (about 5 different varieties and colors). I have all the equipment to card and prepare punies. My understanding is that one needs a ratio of about 12 to spin cotton, and the joy 2 covers that ratio range. Have you spun cotton before? Have you sun cotton on this wheel? This is the wheel I am leaning toward. I have several other ashford products and am very happy with them. This is going to be my first spinning wheel. I also need it to be portable as plan on taking this wheel to farmers market I attend and spin cotton at the markets to create interest. I am a natural crafter, and pick things up quickly, and dive all the way in once I am in. Is this a wheel you would recommend for a beginner, spinning cotton, who needs portability? Would love other spinners perspective on this as well. ❤️❤️❤️

      I absolutely love the Ashford Joy 2 and take it everywhere. It's the only spinning wheel I own at the moment aside from the Great Wheel. I spin everything on it including my home grown cotton. I spin art yarn and did purchase the Freedom Flyer and jumbo bobbins to go with the Joy, and that handles moderately thick yarn. However for large, very thick art yarn I am going to get the Country Spinner to handle that. Good luck with your purchase. I think you will be very happy. ~Shiree

    Do you have the freedom flyer for your joy? If so how big is the bobbin

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 роки тому

      Yes I have the Freedom Flyer. I use it for most of my plying. The bobbin itself is about 4.5" long. I dont know how many oz. it holds. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree

    I have wanted to learn to spin for a number of years now but even after watching a ton of videos I’m still not sure what wheel to go for to learn on , I also want to spin mostly art yarn . Would the Joy 2 be a good beginner’s wheel and I think you are saying I would need to purchase a different flyer ? Would you mind advising me ?

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  17 днів тому

      The Ashford Joy 2 is a fantastic everyday, portable wheel. I purchased the Wooly Winder for it because I didn't want to have to stop to adust the flyer. If you want to do art yarn without limitations in amount of size and weight then get the Ashford Country Spinner. It's huge and holds 2 lbs. of yarn. Best wishes. ~Shiree

    So do you like the electric or joy better?

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 роки тому +1

      The Joy! When I only had the electric I ran it too death and loved every minute of it. It's still good for when my back goes out and I cant use my feet. Since I've had the Joy I feel like I'm getting the whole body experience and it's so fun. I spin at least an hour a day. ~Shiree
