Have a nice day ! You have very useful tools! The tool cabinet is very good and saves space. I also have a pretty large collection of tools and every time I buy something new I admire my new tool for a long time.
The amount that shop buys from Dave to call them and ask if they want donuts or anything is INSANE😭
my snap on dealer literally made a special trip back out with some tools i didnt have yet and let me use them and test them on a vehicle before even purchasing them and even jumped in and started helping break frozen hardware free. i told him to just add the kits he brought in to my account lol. on another occassion he lent me one of the top of the line scan tools for a couple days so i could communicate with a high end car and get the repairs completed

Snap on soldering iron is the best! .. you have to hold down the trigger for a second or two , for it to light and heat up! . If you are too quick, it does not turn on properly!

You are absolutely correct! When I was looking for a new air hammer I was trying everyone else's... I grabbed one of my guy's newer Snap-On for a wheel bearing and wasn't impressed as it was struggling. He walked over and handed me his Mac and said "careful, this one is a hard-hitting motherfu..." 😂 And he wasn't lying! The Mac gets the job done every time, but also beats the holy hell out of every attachment you stick in it, so make sure you get those off the tool truck as well!
Why doesn’t he even have air fitting on it tho

Question how do mechanics afford to have all of these nice tools and toolboxes and still afford to pay their bills and live in a decent home with nice cars ? The most that they get paid is $30-$40 from what Ive heard and they average 80-90 flag hours bi weekly that’s like $4000+ a month after taxes why do mechanics get underpaid when they have to learn so much to know how to work on cars and the amount of money that’s invested on tools this job requires a lot and I don’t think the pay is justifiable when you got fast food managers making $25+ an hour other trades like hvac, electricians and such getting over $30+ an hour in other to get paid more as an automotive technician you have to have years of experience and be able to fix and diagnose everything so you can make over $100k a year do people who work on cars and don’t make 6 figures a year do this because they like working on cars and don’t mind getting underpaid because it gets repetitive and tiring and frustrating working on cars when ur trying to flag your own hours that to me doesn’t seem enjoyable or worth being an automotive technician
It’s literally debt, these guys pay about 500$ a month for all their tools that they don’t truly own, get used to it with mechanics
Snap-on is like Harley Davidson, they make the money on financing. You do get to tax expense what you pay for in a year. In all honesty the shop should be providing most of the specialty tools.
You did hear him say he will get a hutch when he pays off the toolbox right? These guys just dont mind debt and paying for tools weekly. You could get buy with a $3000 one time tool haul but then you wont have the best tools to show off😂
I make 135k as a mechanic not everyone one is working at jiffy lube
I get paid at 36 an hour, I flag anywhere from 140-160 hours every two weeks M-F. I roughly bring about 4k every two weeks and I been in the industry for about 5 years now. I also work with a guy that makes half a million so the money is there. Yes, tools are expensive but the great thing about tool dealers is you can work out a payment plan that’s interest free
