He’s built for endurance. Super graceful use of the largest muscles to translate to a perfect hit on the ball every time. Zero strain, all speed and spin.
yeah people should focus more on making efficient shots than always looking for the most spin, top spin is overrated at the amateur level, what you are gaining in net margin you are also loosing on control and you don't have that pace or the physical abilities of a pro anyway
@@jxg530-- Novak is good, but watching him play has never, and I mean NEVER, left me breathless and inspired. Novak's style evolved to be able to defeat both Federer and Nadal, meaning he owes what he is to what they were. Federer's style evolved because he lived and breathed tennis and elevated it into the realm of poetry in motion. I would trade Novak and every other current player to see Federer, in his prime, back on the court again.
Notice he hits well above the net line, topspin is the bedrock of proper tennis. Yes you can hit flatter and very close to the net but that is low percentage. A put away shot ok! Roger is so smooth and hits so cleanly !!
Mmm, the wall removes lots of the speed on the ball, so he doesn't need topspin to clear the net without going "outside" the court. If anything training with these walls will make you develop a very good flat shot since you would need a massive force in your swing to reach the end of the court when the balls bounces back.
The acoustic energy that emanates from a pro”s strokes is just something else. Imagine, chilling in one of those apartments and then you hear this. You would know instantaneously that it’s a pro practicing. Let alone the Maestro himself.
You can see from the high spot on the wall Federer does not want to get into a habit of hitting low over the net. Good lesson to see from an all time great.
he's also adjusting to the wall first couple of shots are lower and bounce short he then starts to hit higher, harder and with more spin. his average was 2x net height but average don't paint the whole picture of your hitting a long shot cross court then you need more net clearance, when you're hitting short angles , along the line, or flatter/faster shots, less net clearance. if you hit always the same type of shots it's much easier for the opponent to adjust
Well as a Fedfan there is one he couldn't beat while both were in their prime. Its just a fact.Although there were some beautiful occasions when it happened.GOAT ...well he's definitely the most popular,Best dressed,Best attitude, most astethicly pleasing player to watch hands down! Miss seeing him!

The last shot was sensational. I wish Roger Federer would come back. Exceptional tennis.
This how every court should be built. One side with wall and appropriate distance marking for the net.
Or better yet, both sides of the court could have walls with the height of the net drawn on.
His stroke is consistantly hitting the edge of the wall. Amazing.
