The 261 cm is a great saw! I love mine. I was sceptical with the mtronic carb at first but that being said I've have zero problems. I also run Aspen fuel only so it stays consistant.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m ignorant to the Internet but I can’t find a link to find those type of bars for my MS 261 could you provide me some info where I could find those for that saw
What size bar will these reliably oil stock? It is said that a ported 261 drinks a lot of fuel. You guys ever mod the oiler and set it so that the fuel and oil are empty at the roughly the same time and see how it oils?
Did you ever figure out a way around the Oiler not oiling that length bar? Just curious because I can think of a few applications where a light weight saw with that kind of reach would be handy as a pocket on a shirt.
That really is awesome. It makes me want want just like it. In reality, I was in logging for years here in the south, and never recall seeing a bar over 20". There was the occasional 3' tree, but it was in the minority, and the 20" handled everything. Great test with the 28" though I just cant imagine that little beast with a 20". Now I want one and it's your fault, lol!
Very nice. Need this done on my 261. Then maybe I could pull a 20 with an 8 pin sprocket. Tried doing a muffler mod only and she got a little more zip in the 7 pin. Runs much better with the muffler opened up a bit.
any info on how to increase bar oil flow?.... bigger oiler??? adjustment/mod???.... I am building an MS260pro wanting a 28inch bar..... ported, 044carb/air cleaner....only problem left to address is oiler. Please get back to me asap
I bought a MS 362 C-M and it had a very stingy oiler which caused my bars to heat up. I put a 461 oiler in mine and it worked great. I’m not sure which model a 261 could use though
@@Redbull661 wow... I'm going to call him today..... it's this a "workksaw" or "race" ? Mine is just broken in and it's the perfect weight for me but not enough on the bottom end.

I guess that as all things have a limit, you can’t ask for more. Nyce vid, good work ! 💪
thank you sir. yeah there is a chance we could modify the oiler...then who knows. lol

20". have not tried to mod the oiler. we should. It can obviously pull the 28 after scott worked his magic. But oiling is the limiting factor.

still have not examined that or the 661 oiler.
That’s one bad ass saw! Running awesome.
Can you give specs on the 24” bar and chain you tested?

Stock or moded?? I just bought this saw and need a top end kit. Any recommends?
Top end kit but you justbought it? Like shes done or top end for more performance
@@mikeborkovic2982 more performance. I bought another also. I think it's great saw!
One I bought in parts (scored jug for $100)
Very nice video..are you still using the .325 speck's..sprocket..bar gauge..and chain?? I'm looking to put a bigger bar on my MS261C-M.
no that is 3/8 full comp. oiler just doesn't keep up.
@@Redbull661 Oil miix ?
Was that .325 chain
You should check and see if it will Oil a 24"
It will. I went out to the wood pile and cut with a 24". No issues

I thin my bar oil with thicker engine or gear oils, you can choose thickness weight and adjust ratio. Pump doesn’t have to work as hard.
Can you put in a bigger oiler?
might be able to modify the existing...something to explore.

That's good to know that a 461 oiler works in a 362. My 362 oiler is also very stingy.
Why would you put a 28" bar on a 261 ms?!
see how it would pull it. It's just a test. I wouldn't use it.
I'd use it. Just have to keep the rakers tall.
Be honest. It's really just a Piltz saw isn't it? !?
20pin sprocket with 1/4" chain ;)
Have you ever seen the full feature 1/4" chain? Just cutters twice as many teeth as full complement chain.
I'm sorry it's called a Sculptor chain.

That saw with 20 in bar will cut any thing in the average track of timber.
yeah would be crazy with a 20" !
I have 261 pretty sure it doesn’t run that good.
it could!
