Creative accounting is the posh way of saying lying. They r synonymous.

The unemployment figures in the UK are a subtle mix of creative accounting leading to lying. By steadily discounting more and more groups within the unemployed the government has been able to report low unemployment figures (which makes their old voters happy) yet all the while they have destroyed the economy and country and the growing numbers of jobless claimants has risen therefore they have to fudge these too, discounting people from being able to claim and therefore casting them out of the societal safety net, and then reduce the payments made to those that are still covered.

Sunaks performance yesterday in PMQ's was absolutely riven with lies. He was doing a very good impression of Boris Johnson. If you were to believe the things he said, you would have finished watching with the impression that this country was doing brilliantly in every aspect.

I never believe the figures government ministers, PM's, MP's announce. They always use the highest figure they possibly can, but they do so without context or details. Even cursory examination of their figures belies the figure itself.

It was the fastest growing economy after having the most severe covid recession in the G7.

Anyone with any nous would have immediately realised that Sunak's quote was involving apples and pears. The number of Albanians arriving in small boats bears only a tenuous relationship to the total number of Albanians removed. Creative accounting indeed.
I think the creative accounting of nurses was their best "we're including nurses who would have left but didn't, on the new nurses figure"!! It's beyond belief.
EU nurses used to have the same contract as UK nurses. We could not treat them differently.
After 2020 they needed new contracts as foreign labour.
And they are included in the total figure of “new” nurses.
Either Sunak is deliberately misrepresenting the data (lying) or he is too stupid to understand the data and is spouting nonsense (incompetent). Neither are a good look for a Prime Minister, but both are what we have come to expect from these Tory clowns. Having worked for 40 years in hotels I can tell you that there are plenty of hotel owners who give their trained staff mindless and impossible orders and then wonder why their staff keep on leaving - a choice that civil servants don´t have with these buffoons who have also never done a day´s work in their lives.

It's funny how in PMQ's Rishi Sunak talks about lowering immigration, then celebrates adding 20,000 nurses to the NHS, almost all of them from non-EU countries.

And as the civil servant said, even that figure of 500 being returned is dubious because they could have arrived “by small boat” any time in the past few years. Sunak is plainly lying

There are thousands coming by plane with visas issued by Tories from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Africans countries.
Not all of them are angels but they are welcoming here with the governments blessing.

Maybe immigration figures being given should always, by law, include how many from the different countries have arrived by air, with the tories blessing. This might lead to them curtailing these allegedly "millions of boat people" they always try to scare us with.

I'm going to tell you why. Mostly those people are coming as students. The students pay a shed load of money to come and study here some students if you talk to them you can tell in the nicest possible way they aren't very bright. So they extract money from these people they fail they try to apply for a different visa paying the home office and fail. They have to return or they pass but the job criteria is impossible and back they go. Sunak also wants to appease India one of their conditions is making it easier for Indians to come to the UK.

Just a small point I would like to bring up, throughout the video, they were referring to Albanians and Albania, yet you kept referring to Romania. I am sure that you are aware that Albania and Romania are two different countries, in spite of their similarities.

Not just are they different countries, Romania is in the EU and hundreds of thousands of its citizens came to the UK legally while we were still in the EU.

Home Secretary’s come and go. Civil Servants tend to last longer but it must be very difficult trying to explain the truth to a Minister who wants good news to keep the headbangers happy. Civil servants must be pulling their hair out trying to do things which are crazy and probably bordering on illegal.

We have an ageing and declining population.
We do not have enough young people working and paying taxes to pay the pensions of those who have retired, and keep the infrastructure going.

We lost enormous numbers of NHS and care workers, hospitality workers, agricultural workers,….
We cannot replace them with Brits, so now we have immigrants from all over the world.

The function of Civil Servants is to be objective, impartial, honest and to behave with integrity. ‘Their careers on the line’ is suggesting that they put their professional status above governmental demands…that is to over simplify the situation…their whole raison d’être is to be the conscience of government. The growth of the use of SpAds (special advisers) by PMs, No 10 and government over the last 15 years has seriously impacted the way in which government gets its information. SpAds by definition are NOT Civil Servants, they are not bound by the Civil Service Code and can be politically biased, act as advocates for none government interests and essentially be lobbyists. The processes of government have been undermined and debased by successive administrations to the point where jingoism and bigotry are rife. It’s appalling!
