- A Russian nuclear submarine and three other Russian ships are off the coast of Cuba to conduct military exercises in the Caribbean. U.S. officials say the exercises will include flights by Russian long-range bombers along the East Coast.

The Russians have used their frigates as a “Jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of none!” The frigates are the smallest ocean crossing warship. It will be a very small Russian military exercise with only one Russian frigate against one Russian submarine; the Cubans can throw in their small obsolete fleet in the exercise.

Ukrainian sportsman killed in war
A Ukrainian sportsman has been killed while serving in the war, the country's National Olympic Committee has said.
Rostislav Livach, a candidate for the title of master of sport in sabre fencing, died on 6 June while defending Ukraine in a specialised mountain unit in the west.
