Good video, let me add a few things. First, you should mention the wall and floor thickness, Im guessing yours is 10 gauge, which should be the absolute minimum for a dump trailer.. its fine for junk removal, but tree work and concrete work will destroy a 10 gauge trailer quick. My Diamond C is 7 gauge walls and floor and its beat up pretty bad over the past 3 years, but it is structurally sound, and the dents it has in the floor would be punctures with thinner steel. . Second, you should always pay attention to deck height if planning on hauling equipment often.. most dump trailers have 26-28" deck height, which is quite steep for equipment loading. Lower deck height also means you can have taller walls and still load with a mini skid. Mt previous dump was 28", my Diamond C is 21".. world of difference. And finally you should consider upgraded axles, largely because you can equip them with 17.5" wheels and 16 ply tires. That wheel and tire setup is worlds better for hauling heavy, as well as nail resistance at the dump. For what you are doing with your trailer, I think you made a good choice, but if you get into concrete demolition or doing tree work often, you should really consider a better built trailer.. The price can be a tough pill to swallow at first, but it will pay for itself quickly, last you much longer, and hold much higher re-sale. Continued luck in your business, I enjoy your videos. Cheers.
You are the man for this comment. I really appreciate it!!! I totally forgot to mention the floor gauge and deck height. I missed so many things, and my video still came out to 19min 🤦♂️🤣
Thank you brother, make sure you get an electric one. I greased all my equipment yesterday, and without my milwaukee m18 my wrists would be hurting big time today 😅
Best option you don't have is hydraulic tongue jack. A major cylinder company had a kit, (valve, hoses, cylinder, foot, etc) for $350. It was a no brainer. Instead of twisting those safety chains its much better to put the pin in the proper link. Neighbor had his new 7x14 stolen two weeks ago. Its best to remove the chains and couplers when not hooked to the trailer. Clamp something on a wheel. Anything to take more time to get away will sometimes make them look for easier target.
Not bad. It was a 1k upgrade at the dealer it wasn't worth it to at the time. I prefer simplicity. The fewer gadgets, the fewer problems. But those jacks are very cool 😎 I agree with you. I need to cut mine they come so long from the factory 😂. Yes, when I leave it on jobs I lock it up and make sure I have at least oneor 2 trackers on it
The dealer name is Topshelf Trailers 850516 Hwy 17, Yulee, FL 32097 This trailer is $10500 before taxes, but if you don't get the ramps, tarp, or spare, it will be $9500
Only at high speeds, but that's because the trailer wasn't loaded properly. I had too much weight in the back of the trailer. Bumper pulls work great as well!
@@JackofHaulTrades the way a dump discharges a battery is really hard on it so a quality maintainer really help keep the chemistry in order for a longer lasting high$ Batt. Hustle smart , stay safe.
I have a top shelf being there in my town I have dumped 7 overloaded loads of dirt and 2 loads of house debris in 2 weeks not once have I plugged it in I think that’s impressive
This trailer will run you about $10,000. It's built by Top Shelf Trailers in Yulle, Florida. Call them and let them know Jack of Haul Trades from youtube sent you, and they will give you a discount!
Be careful with the bigger ply. Not always the greatest. The axles aren't meant for the extra ply, if you do a sharp turn you have alot of potential to bend an axle $$$
The trailer is holding up great sir! I got 3 of them now :) ...all are from Top Shelf Trailers in Yulle Florida. If you buy from them ask for the Jack of Haul Trades Discount!!
Just got a diamond c roughly the same size as this one in the video but smaller payload. Do you think having two trailers is worth it? I’m thinking of buying another diamond c with 3 foot walls with with a 18k gvwr just for super heavy jobs like you said gravel dirt and all that. But California is the only dumb state that makes you need a cdl for a trailer that size.
Hey brother, the 2 trailers or more is all going to depend on you. Is this your full-time gig? Do you have the space for it? I have 4 trailers currently and want another one 😅. My landfill closes early on weekends, so if I want to keep working I need another trailer. I also rent mine as dumpsters. I'm not sure what registration is in Cali, but here it's super cheap only like 12 bucks a year on a trailer or something lol
@@JackofHaulTrades yeah it’s going to be my full time job and same our landfill closes early on weekends. I was planning on buying roll offs for rentals but decided to hold off. Thanks man! @christianortiz6956 If you think you can afford it, send it! I wanted roll offs also but decided to stick to the trailer game it's more Hoa friendly. I appreciate you following along brother

@@sethmeashey3219 Will do!
You should do a video side by side comparrison with a scissor lift trailer to see which is faster.
One day, I'll try to do that! I believe the scissor lift will be faster but the telescopic will be stringer 💪
Good reminder, I gotta grease my trailer more often… this was a well done, comprehensive buyer’s guide! Nice work Andre!

I put wireless winch controllers on mine $18 off Amazon. They work amazing
I need to get some for my trailers. I bet it's such a nice feature to have!
I do the math and paint a gravel line in our dump trailers. No excuses.
That's smart!

Fwiw, think of that solar panel as a maintainer, not a charger. It's just keeping the Batt healthy when the trailer is idle.
Good to know. I appreciate the info. I really do see it making a big difference in the summer. My trailers are always saying full

Is that a 16 yarder?
No sir. It's just under 15, but you fit like 20-25 yards if stacked properly 🤣
Great video, is this 15 yard or maybe 17 yarder?
Just under 15 yards sir It's 7×14×4. Thank you for the feedback!
Just picked up a 7x14
Congrats man! What business are you in?
Do you have a trailer brake controller?
Yessir I do!

My diamond c the frame for the box fits inside the trailer frame and the drop axels really keeps the bed as low as possible.
@firstname6208 that's awesome man I definitely need that on my next one
Also, your frame is not an I Beam that's a C Channel. I get you are still learning though so I won't flame you for it lol
Are you sure it's not I beam? It has an I on the end ...
