I was a big RE fan back then, always looking forward to more. But back then, i didn't feel very inspired to invest in the PS2 modem, and it's hard to really remember what happened that made me miss this. Maybe it didn't get enough attention? RE not as a single player experience? eh. well. Years later, i did try emulating it, and i can see why it would be missed. And the AI in the game, is as useless as it gets. You have got to play it with actual people, because anyone, at all, is better than the computer controlled characters. Your grandma. Your cat. anyone. So get the translated Japanese version. Which is where I'm at. So my next step, since i don't know anyone interested. I have to look into playing it again. online. If anyone is about where i am, let me know. I want to experience this game properly. Preferably with people who are decent at it.
The Resident Evil Outbreak series deserve a whole new remake. With all the 18 to 20 scenarios put into it. It’ll bring a lot of RE fans together and explain all the holes in Raccoon City. From September 21st or September 23rd to October 1st. While bringing survival horror to it’s original roots. Because we’re explore all the horrifying things these 8 survivors endured. Day and night. It’ll be a big hit as well with online gameplay now and days. 🙌🏾
a remake would honestly destroy what makes this game so great imo. a proper hd remaster with multiplayer support would be better. a remake would require EVERYTHING to be changed to the point the outbreak games would lose their identity. on top of that, the outbreak fan servers would come under fire and more likely get taken down with the remake's release. we would lose history, and if the RE:verse the remake of outbreak, now we dont have ANY outbreak. its something the community in the disrcord talks about all the time, and is the general public opinion.
HD remasters would be the dream for me, for some reason capcom don't pursue this. We'd all be really excited to see the classics uplifted and put out again but instead they want to reinvent them...to mixed results
It would be awesome to have that, maybe include a scenario that takes place just moments before the first infected start to show up You can explore the city and everything is normal for a bit and then the biohazard occurs
@Timothy Rice I think a remake would be fine. But I think it would have to bring back some of the fixed camera angles, or at least make the point of view optional. Also, a remake would require new voice actors and that would suck, but I think remastering the game won't bring any attention to outbreak as it is deserved, just bring back the 200 actual fans out there to be able to play. A remake could be done right that fixes everything that was wrong( load times, dumb ai, no publicity, canceled release zones, online play) and they could release it on more than 1 console today, and the servers would stay up. I can't see why Capcom wouldn't bring it back. Imagine if your partners were like partners in re4r . You can make them follow you, defend, attack, explore, stay. Then the game would be sick in offline solo, offline multi-player and online multi-player modes. Just imagine wild things redone in today's re graphics. The hive would be sick reimagined. END OF THE ROAD! but in all honesty I will miss how hilariously dumb the ai was .
@@thomasslagle5707well said! Imo a remake akin to RE2,3,4…with optional offline AI akin to Elden Ring, and adjustable difficulty…make it cross platform, online w/mic’ed headsets…would be a KILLER RE game! (If made with love and respect for the OG) Diverse cast. Short levels ideal for speed runs, youtube, TikTok etc… and the popularity of RE2,3,4,8 currently would add to its relevance. It’s really the time for Capcom to do it 🤷🏻♂️ Was way ahead of its time, everything it is is super popular now.
The Resident Evil Outbreak games don't need to be remade just HD Ported or Remastered for current consoles. They can call it Outbreak Remastered Collection, and Hell even add Dead aim to the collection.
The interesting thing about this game is that not all the characters liked each other, so if you said that they would accompany you, they could say no. In file 2 they fixed this and you could choose your own team.
It would be such an easy thing to do, Capcom.... With today's network structure it should be piece of cake... but then again, they didn't even manage to put out RE:Verse yet... Great vid as usual, keep it up!
You'd have thought with all the advancements they've had with monster hunter, Street Fighter and even RE5/6 they'd be able to get outbreak out without too much issue....but your bang on with re:verse... doesn't give me much confidence 😭
they did release RE:Verse recently, but no one I know of has bought or played it, I've only seen one YTer take a chance and he said it was garbage, of course it was expected to be garbage as it was the same team that made Resistance 😂😂😂
Outbreak is my wife’s favorite in the series so we end up running through the whole game a few times a year. Outbreak is a highly underrated game in the franchise and a lot of people, myself included, didn’t get to enjoy it when it was in its prime. Thankfully the fan server exists but man I wish I could go back 15 years.
14:25 I believe they ignore and leave you if your character has a bad relationship with that AI. And if I'm remembering right, they'll also totally watch you die.
You're bang on, a few people have told me about that now. I can't imagine disliking someone so much that I'd actively watch them die... these characters are savage
@@SSJdavey lol yeah. I don't think there's any official reason given why but it's fun to think it up myself. It's also nice to see the good relationships, the ones that will always pick you back up and give you stuff.
they need to remake this game already!!! they could do so much with the engine and the tools they have today. the game was ahead of it's time and it definitely deserves a second chance.
Definitely want a remake of this series with the RE Engine...the thing I hate about the current one is the ridiculous load times. Remaking the Outbreak series with the entire 18 planned scenarios with future new scenario dlc would definitely peak my interest for the series again......RE3 Demake caused me to become apathetic.........not even interested in RE4 Remake since it never needed one......
Dude how awesome would a yoko, alyssa, and Cindy Team up game! They sport the same colors as our 3 ladies from death island! Red for claire and alyssa. Blue for queen jill and Cindy. And green for yoko and rebecca!
As for the AI there are characters that hates one another as based off their personalities. Kevin hates David and David hates him back. David dislikes Cindy and vice versa but Kevin and Cindy will always go together coz they are friends. As for enemies... i think the File 2 ,had more iconic enemies like the axeman and Oscar the Elephant.
@@SSJdavey if i remeber correctly the chart is Mark and Kevin dislike each other but will put aside their differences if cindy is in the group. Mark believes that kevin is doing nothing with his life Jim is disliked my most survivors except cindy, and mark Cindy is liked by most survivors except david David and cindy DO NOT get along. David thinks cindy is too nosy and childish(Well he has bad taste anyway) George dislikes yoko, reason's unknown Alyssa cannot stand jim for his cowardice but jim gets along with alyssa Yoko and Alyssa get along, reasons unknown George and Cindy get along. David tends to separate from the group While cindy is more likely to stay within the group But that's all i know for the time being. My guess is that they want Offline mode to feel more lively and "realistic" though it's more of a detriment than a positive IMO. It also makes sense why some A.I don't would gladly let you die in offline mode too.
I've learned that if you do a level as a non level-story character, the said character will go on their own and pick up all the key items in their path when you take a different path. It helps a lot. And also David (or was it Yoko?) when I was laying a as Kevin in that one mission in the university with the tyrant chasing you.
i remember playing this game when i was like 10, sadly the disk was so scratched i could only play the first 3 chapters and only as a handful of the characters, i still remember it being very fun. learned a while back that online play is still possible thanks to the outbreak server resurrection so im looking forward to playing it again with all of that. this game deserves better, while i havent seen most of the scenarios already in the games yet, i'd love a remake with the rest of the planned stuff
this game is a masterpiece! definitely deserves a remake. I remember skipping school to play it before my brother returns! We want to experience the story of ordinary untrained citizens trying to survive again, with the glorious 4K this time
I don't think re4 will need a remake until a few more years I'm currently playing the game and it holds up well and is on every major console unlike outbreak which has to be fucked with on pc to get the multiplayer working
Personally I think re4 is a decent good game when I was younger I loved it but tried to play it awhile ago and the controls are chalked couldn't stand it
While I've unfortunately never had the chance to play it, let alone with friends (though I'm hoping to change that down the line), I've always had a certain interest and fondness for the Outbreak games for the way they expanded on Raccoon City and the T-Virus outbreak that ravaged it. Being able to revisit familiar locations from both 2 and 3 in full 3D for the first time, seeing brand new locations in Raccoon City that genuinely feel like locales Claire, Leon, and Jill could've explored during their own games if they had the chance, and how these locations are being affected by the T-Virus outbreak always felt like the coolest shit to me and a fantastic way to expand on the existing setting and lore for RE. Seeing how various different locations in Raccoon City were dealing with their own unique brand of T-Virus infected freaks really did a great job emphasizing that Raccoon City very quickly became what's essentially a fucked up breeding ground for various different shapes of T-Virus infected monstrosities, be they the end result of people and animals mutating in a certain way from the virus, or from Umbrella's bioweapon research. From the subway with a colony of mutated fleas, the new type of leech zombie that was stumbling around the hospital, to dealing with good ol' Al in the abandoned hospital in the Arklay Forest, I really just loved how Outbreak emphasized that there was plenty more horrific shit going down in Raccoon City outside of Leon, Claire, and Jill's experiences and that the T-Virus has no shortage of variety when it comes to producing monsters. With all this in mind, I can't help but wish we had another classic-style survival horror game (maybe even a series of them like RE 2 through Outbreak and Silent Hill 1 through 3) that allows you to gradually explore more and more of a town or city that's been ravaged and inhabited by monsters, all while seeing more and more locations and how they connect over to familiar ones you've already been to.
I'd love for more classic style survival horror but outside of the indie scene I can't see capcom going back to the well unfortunately 😞 If you ever want to run some outbreak let me know we can always set up a community night or something, any excuse to play Outbreak and I'm there!
If they did remake it at least the AI would be better. I liked how certain characters liked and disliked each other and that could transfer into a remake. Most of the cast liked Kevin so they’d stick with him because he’s a cop and he will protect them but someone like Alyssa and David might walk off. It would just be nice to walk round an environment with the same three phrases over and over and over and over gain. And not auto using the best weapon they get.
Thegamingthumb has a good segment in his resident Evil video city of the Dead that puts the outbreak games into perspective and really brings to life the amount of canonical events that the survivors butterfly affected in the main line series
@@SSJdavey applause to your video as well. There's rarely ever any retrospective or look back videos that I see about outbreak. A lot of people have just pushed it to the side as a another RE verse survivor crash test without realizing just how tremendous the game actually is
This is by far my favorite resident evil. Period. I’ve been dying for it to get a remake or at least ported to a newer console. I bought a ps3 and jailbroken it just to get this game.
It's really one of the best RE titles of the old RE style. I never got to play it when it released, and I barely heard anything about it. I'd love to get a hold of a copy now, with a PS2 an a couple of controllers. Like so many other commenters have already pointed out, Capcom not re-releasing this game is such a missed opportunity.
I had those same issues with the AI partners and also never got a chance to experience the Outbreak games online. If I did, I most likely would have given my experience with Outbreak File 2 a higher rating than 7/10, and I could have clarified that too in my ranking comment. After playing ZombiU years back, I wondered if this could have been a better alternative to having AI partners in singleplayer. ZombiU provided one of my personal favorite Survival Horror experiences from a non-Resident Evil game. In that game, you play as one survivor at a time, and once your character is killed or turned, you pick up from where you left off as a new survivor. Similar to a Soulsborne game, you may even have to find your deceased/zombified survivor from earlier to get your stuff back. For example, if someone is playing an Outbreak scenario on singleplayer, they can choose to start out with Kevin. If Kevin gets killed or succumbs to infection, the player has a certain number of “extra lives” and can spawn at the level’s entrance as Alyssa to continue making progress with her. That way, online multiplayer can be the coop experience it was intended, while singleplayer gamers won’t have to grapple with AI partners and can at least make full use of one survivor at a time. To compensate for playing the game without coop partners at all, singleplayer can make doors easier to bash open, give two extra inventory spaces, and/or provide a classic item box.
I like the idea but I'm not sure if I'm too keen in practice, if you did respawn it would remove alot of the tension you get from a rising infection meter
@@SSJdavey Hm. Perhaps it could also be adjusted, so that the infection rate is noticeably faster when someone is in singleplayer mode. That way, if someone is only controlling one survivor at a time and has two more lined up, it won’t necessarily mean he has triple the time to play the level, in total. Also, I myself have mixed feelings towards Outbreak’s infection mechanic, especially since the enemy respawns and creatures pursuing players between rooms already pressured me to rush on higher difficulties. Sometimes, I go back and forth between wanting that mechanic to stay and wanting it replaced with something like Operation Raccoon City’s infection mechanic. Hypothetically, if infection and how you countered it worked more like it is in ORC, then I suppose it would not matter as much, whether it is all survivors working together at once or one survivor entering after the other.
forever pissed off that this game was advertised as multiplayer (but I recall no mentions/marketing about any extra piece of hardware that would be necessary) but didn't have a splitscreen option or even a "hook two ps2's together" sort of option, just online servers that didn't actually exist anyway
Resident evil outbreak is my favorite resident evil game, I have only played file 2 never played file 1, but I wish that resident evil outbreak gets its remake in the near future.
apparently a multiplayer game like outbreak was in the works (not talking about the rumored outrage) but an insider said it might have been scrapped for some reason. altho the game was on the list of that big Nvidia leak alongside re4R so who knows man...we'll see great vid btw👍
Yeah I covered it on my podcast a while back when the leak went out, surprised we still havnt seen anything at this stage...Hell I'm suprised we havnt heard about RE:Verse yet 🤷♂️
I've been asking myself what they could do for Village DLC, outside of playing the campaign through as chris (to see what he was up to) I have no idea what it could be
@@SSJdavey I'd like them to maybe do a dlc on the lord, to kinda flesh them out more since some of them are criminally underutilized, maybe one dlc for villagers and what happened to them when lycans attacked...and also as you mentioned, a dlc for chris to see what he's been up to. Another type of dlcs that I loved from 7 was those really, arcadey silly ones like nightmare dlc, jack birthday and ofc ethan must die. So I hope they do one of those too cause they're genuinely fun
Outbreak series was ahead of its time in terms of online play, unlockables, the problem that back then the internet was still quite new and not everyone had it, to bad capcom dont see potential in bringing these series back in modern engine, they could easily make lots of money today with all this microtransactions, not saying microtransactions are good but if you can earn it in game with points or buying from marketplace i dont see issue, as long you dont need to grind and have some stats witch makes you more powerful etc..i only wish, maybe one day.
I dunno man. Leech man was pretty unique, hunting you down through the hospital and able to home in if you got bleed status, or what about the zombie animals from the zoo in file 2? Or the chainsaw guy from the woods? Other games actually used outbreaks ideas several times. (re4 chainsaw Dr Salvador, re5 leech man ouroboros infection)
In file 2 I adore the zoo animals (its my favourite scenario out of the 2 games, i gush about it in the file 2 review) The leech man is cool in file 1 that's true, maybe I should have acknowledged that a bit more, I was mainly thinking of the bosses which are a low point for me in file 1
@@SSJdavey fair point. I just thought there were more enemies. Got to be honest, I never managed to get past the first few scenarios XD I only played through a few but that was back when I started getting into RE. Now I'm planning to make another playthrough but record it. Now that I'm a vet it should be easier to deal with leech man (ugh)
@@SSJdavey that sounds like fun honestly. My friends can be flakes sometimes. I'd rather play the game the way it was meant to be played. I remember all to well George going off on his own in the hospital to go die.
Great review and explanation of the game. Damn would it be cool if we could have an 8 player sandbox scenario game take place. Having to find other players, weave through hordes, resource management, and having skills to help one another in the resident evil game. Would be magnificent!!!!
I remember this game - hopefully they remake it soon. I recommend them getting rid of tank controls and the viral infection health indicator and it’ll be an instant hit. The viral indicator causes people to have the feeling of speed running each mission, instead of being fully immersed and enjoying the experience
I'm not sure if it would work as well without the viral indicator, it adds so much pressure to not get hit and to ensure you look after eachother. Hell in saying that, I'd be happy for it to come back in any form!
this game makes me so nostalgic, i am desperate for outbreak to make a return, as are many of the fans !! capcom needs to realize this game could make a fortune if they just listened to us and brought it back, its not like its impossible , we want outbreak remastered or i'd settle for just a file 3 :)
I got so much love for Outbreak. Back in the day when i played it was a nice surprise for me since I didn't like RECV and, for me, RE4 was a good action shooter, not a good RE, so Outbreak was almost everything I expected from a RE title, the puzzles, mechanics, environment, etc. I really hope to see a remake with an online multiplayer (Outbreak was ahead of his time, I wasn't able to play it online) or at least a remastered will be just fine
Oh, man. I always liked this game, but only because I only played the apartment map and all the mess were contained. Hiding inside the locker, holding the door shut against zombies bashing the doors and looking at the contamination counter going up with no pause... That was my experience as someone who didn't play much and it was awesome. But now... Man! What a disappointment. You shed light on some horrible design choices made by devs in this game. I don't know if I should even play this on emulator after all those negative aspects of the bots.
RE outbreak is the most legendary of zombie games even without ever getting into the mp aspect of it. And I was a huge noob as a kid. :p They should have gone for this remake and not just re 2. But oh well, perhaps one day we will get it with all the proper features. Not a single character less.
No, Capcom should not turn Outbreak into a RE Engine remake and have content get removed. They should just bring Outbreak File 1 and 2 back as one game with all the mechanics from File 2.
I really suck at this game and to me its the scariest in the series. I had the pleasure of playing this when it first came out but never played online. It was fun as hell once I figured out the puzzles and trying every characters special abilities out. Who was your favorite? Mine was the cop.
I would want Capcom resident evil operation Raccoon City Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 remake with both having oFF Line Multiplayer cooperative co-op campaign mode Also online multiplayer modes should be like the same way as xenoverse 2 online create a room create my own character as survivor and umbrella Mercenaries
Im a veteran of outbreak and beat the entire outbreak of file 1 and 2 on very hard with a knife it took me a long time but when you do its the best high
2023 & im still waiting for a remaster, remake, or port or hell, even file 3. This is ridiculous they at capcom are either out of touch, or hate money. They could literally make millions treating outbreak remaster as a live service game & add skins or a new scenario in a dlc & we’d pay. Smh
I would love to play this game online but I don’t know anyone who would have the time to dedicate to playing a longer play session for a game they most likely aren’t interested in, much less having to go through the trouble of emulating and setting up an old game from 2003.
RE Outbreak is still an original Resident Evil feeling same for RE Dead Aim... and I wish Capcom porting these back on the present consoles as HD remasters. Same also for PSone versions of RE2 and RE3... RE Survivor...
I'm hoping that they'll put them out, I'd love it if we got them in the ps+ premium collection - Italy get dino crisis this month so there's some hope...
I never best this and my internet was crap enough I was only ever able to deal with the AI. Between the AI and infinite spawning zombies in some areas made it one of my weaker RE experiences. This being said I certainly saw the potential. I think done nowadays would be way better because most people have decent internet now as opposed to when this game initially came out.
you had a alot of great points in this video I was 21 when this came out and the online mod was ok I guess but it was way ahead of its time has we well know and for capcom to remake it in the hole new RE-Engine would be wicked but will that ever remake this game who knows right it would make them a loads of cash a online server now that has potential I wouldn't stop there they could even update it by integrating every Resident Evil game into it citys monsters zombies they would make a killing just think about it for a mint here DLC's it would be like GTA 5 online but a horror this would be the key for RE fans well thats my idea anyway
I kid you not I literally beat a door that required a specific key item, until it opened. I was shocked to say the least (I was bored Incase anyone's wondering why I did it)
Outbreak was/is amazing, so many good memories. Even without the online, because internet would be only a thing a decade later. In my house, I mean. Great video, davey man! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I will never not wish for an outbreak port or remake. Such amazing characters in this. loading times were ass but damn that music was great! At least they made alyssa and yoko canon in the new ones. I wish kevin was canon too tho :(
Honestly, since always I've been saying it needs a good remaster and not a remake. I would LOVE a remake if done properly, but it's Capcom, and they can't do a proper multiplayer RE anymore. Just this amazing game with over the shoulder camera and the typical shooting thing like REsistance and REverse did would ruin it and follow the trend this games did with failing.
they really should of remade outbreak instead of re4, maybe even re3, or making the mess that was ORC, outbreak was great, and they should be able to expand so much on it, even making files on newer BOW outbreaks cases
Hmm...well for a remake would be complicated considering that to beat Resident Evil Outbreat File 2 as a remake you would need to be able to be able to play it with other players in your house and online so you could beat it.
@@SSJdavey Depends,is better that is also has sofa co op,but for either one you need friends to play it with.Either way sofa human co op is better and more fun because human factor.
The Outbreak games have a lot of really cool elements in them and would probably be a lot of fun to play with people. Unfortunately, from my own experience, they are dreadfully dull and unfun to play by yourself. These titles were sadly ahead of their time and I believe would have had much greater success if they weren't released on the PlayStation 2.
I've commented on this video before but I'm back to ask if anyone has had a hard time going back to this title? I found it to be extremely slow and clunky which is strange because I love classic re. I'm going to try it again but worried it may not be for me
If its not for you that's totally fine, there's loads of great games that don't hit right for me. It can't be helped 👍 BUT Give it another go just incase 😅
I wasnt aware you could carry items between scenarios? you said you had carried a keycard for the majority of the game, Did you mean the majority of the scenario ?
They didn't stand out to me for some reason, I just played jedi fallen order and the 10 or so seconds that takes to get back into the action killed me! So I get why that would be annoying
I'm pretty sure they are all what if scenarios. There's no chronological order. You don't have a bevy in J's bar, then pop to the zoo, get to the labs, and go home for tea?
If you can’t emulate but you want to ply online, you can just buy a Japanese copy of the game for ps2 as outbreak servers only work on the Japanese version.
Oh my god such an unique game even to this day, I always thought about this game everytime they announced a new RE game. There is so much personality in this game that I am actually gonna go back and play it hopefully soon. Great review
I don't even think that a REmake is necessary, but a HD remaster with full multiplayer support would be already great!

So tired of the garbage pvp games. We want pve. This is a zombie game dammit
1000%
Capcom should reach out to us and ask what we want, PVE over PVP anyday
they did release RE:Verse recently, but no one I know of has bought or played it, I've only seen one YTer take a chance and he said it was garbage, of course it was expected to be garbage as it was the same team that made Resistance 😂😂😂
The fan server is immense, wish capcom would reput the game out so the masses can experience it
14:25 I believe they ignore and leave you if your character has a bad relationship with that AI.
When i played as kevin cindy was helping me SO MUCH lol i guess she wants his d
they need to remake this game already!!! they could do so much with the engine and the tools they have today. the game was ahead of it's time and it definitely deserves a second chance.
*We need to fly to Japan and protest for an Outbreak File 1/2 remake at CAPCOM’s H.Q.*
I've always wanted to go 👀
Definitely want a remake of this series with the RE Engine...the thing I hate about the current one is the ridiculous load times. Remaking the Outbreak series with the entire 18 planned scenarios with future new scenario dlc would definitely peak my interest for the series again......RE3 Demake caused me to become apathetic.........not even interested in RE4 Remake since it never needed one......
This game was way ahead of it's time. but personally outbreak file 1 was my favorite. But yes this game deserves a remaster
Super far ahead, I love the zoo so that pushes file 2 ahead for me albeit only by a little
So many years ppl say we want re outbreak 😂
We have to keep banging the drum. One day they'll listen 😭
Dude how awesome would a yoko, alyssa, and Cindy Team up game! They sport the same colors as our 3 ladies from death island! Red for claire and alyssa. Blue for queen jill and Cindy. And green for yoko and rebecca!
Dude I'd take anything outbreak. ANYTHING
I didn't know that! That's mega interesting. Is that figured out purely by experimenting or is there lore i missed?
@@SSJdavey if i remeber correctly the chart is
Mark and Kevin dislike each other but will put aside their differences if cindy is in the group. Mark believes that kevin is doing nothing with his life
Jim is disliked my most survivors except cindy, and mark
Cindy is liked by most survivors except david
David and cindy DO NOT get along. David thinks cindy is too nosy and childish(Well he has bad taste anyway)
George dislikes yoko, reason's unknown
Alyssa cannot stand jim for his cowardice but jim gets along with alyssa
Yoko and Alyssa get along, reasons unknown
George and Cindy get along.
David tends to separate from the group
While cindy is more likely to stay within the group
But that's all i know for the time being. My guess is that they want Offline mode to feel more lively and "realistic" though it's more of a detriment than a positive IMO. It also makes sense why some A.I don't would gladly let you die in offline mode too.
Thanks for this!
@@espio329 where is the proof for this ?
I've learned that if you do a level as a non level-story character, the said character will go on their own and pick up all the key items in their path when you take a different path. It helps a lot. And also David (or was it Yoko?) when I was laying a as Kevin in that one mission in the university with the tyrant chasing you.
I had that happen to me, I had David run off and do the wasp section on his own and I met him and retrieved the key items from him. That was awesome
i remember playing this game when i was like 10, sadly the disk was so scratched i could only play the first 3 chapters and only as a handful of the characters, i still remember it being very fun. learned a while back that online play is still possible thanks to the outbreak server resurrection so im looking forward to playing it again with all of that. this game deserves better, while i havent seen most of the scenarios already in the games yet, i'd love a remake with the rest of the planned stuff
this game is a masterpiece! definitely deserves a remake. I remember skipping school to play it before my brother returns! We want to experience the story of ordinary untrained citizens trying to survive again, with the glorious 4K this time
The power stance you mentioned for Kevin isn't unique to him; Alyssa has it too!
Really! I didn't know that!
I don't think re4 will need a remake until a few more years I'm currently playing the game and it holds up well and is on every major console unlike outbreak which has to be fucked with on pc to get the multiplayer working
I completely agree. RE4 plays fine and looks decent with the HD versions, capcom are just seeing dollar signs
Personally I think re4 is a decent good game when I was younger I loved it but tried to play it awhile ago and the controls are chalked couldn't stand it
Id absolutely love a outbreak remake tho👀👀
We are all praying for the day 🙏
Instead we get a big titty vampire lady an stupid monsters i just want the old classical RE feel back with the upgraded technology we got now

I'd love for more classic style survival horror but outside of the indie scene I can't see capcom going back to the well unfortunately 😞
If you ever want to run some outbreak let me know we can always set up a community night or something, any excuse to play Outbreak and I'm there!
I'll have to check that out! Thanks for the recommendation 👌
I remember as a kid I couldn’t figure out the first scenario in the bar and raging lol
First time I played the hospital level years ago i had no clue where I had to go or how to progress, the leech man kicked my ass 😅
@@SSJdavey
Hm.
Split screen would have been a welcome feature, with they'd incorporated it
Resident evil outbreak is my favorite resident evil game, I have only played file 2 never played file 1, but I wish that resident evil outbreak gets its remake in the near future.
File 1 is great! I prefer file 2 (the zoo is just soooo good) but well worth downloading the PC fan server pack and giving it a run 👌
🤞 for a remake
apparently a multiplayer game like outbreak was in the works (not talking about the rumored outrage) but an insider said it might have been scrapped for some reason. altho the game was on the list of that big Nvidia leak alongside re4R so who knows man...we'll see

@@SSJdavey i wouldn't be surprise if capcom cancelled that eventually to spent more time on dlcs for village which hopefully are as good as 7's

Its all I'm hoping for, seems like a no brainer to me 🤷♂️
Great video buddy, love the way you tell these stories.
Thanks zach appreciate that 👌
I dunno man.
In file 2 I adore the zoo animals (its my favourite scenario out of the 2 games, i gush about it in the file 2 review)
The leech man is cool in file 1 that's true, maybe I should have acknowledged that a bit more, I was mainly thinking of the bosses which are a low point for me in file 1
@@SSJdavey fair point. I just thought there were more enemies. Got to be honest, I never managed to get past the first few scenarios XD I only played through a few but that was back when I started getting into RE.
@@SSJdavey Ahh i didn't even think about it from that perspective. I'll be open-minded to any additions they do! Thank you for the reply :)
I love Outbreak when i was 10 i remember playing it online ❤️ nostalgia. Such amazing times.
this game makes me so nostalgic, i am desperate for outbreak to make a return, as are many of the fans !! capcom needs to realize this game could make a fortune if they just listened to us and brought it back, its not like its impossible , we want outbreak remastered or i'd settle for just a file 3 :)
Either would be incredible
Great video, i love how in depth you go.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 👌
I got so much love for Outbreak.
It was so far ahead of its time I completely agree, capcom leaving money on the table if they don't put it back out
Yup its in my top 5 childhood games
Thanks for shining light on outbreak!
Its a fantastic game, I'm only a small voice but I guess it helps
I'd say even with the horrendous bots it's still worth firing up and giving it a go! I had a great time

Please do another video on the outbreak series 🙏
@thomasslagle5707 got one In editing right now should be out Thursday latest 👌
The soundtrack for the outbreak is the absolute best across all resident evils. Second best is re 2 soundtrack.
RE outbreak is the most legendary of zombie games even without ever getting into the mp aspect of it. And I was a huge noob as a kid. :p They should have gone for this remake and not just re 2. But oh well, perhaps one day we will get it with all the proper features. Not a single character less.
Dude. THIS fuckin video needs to go viral.
Capcom needs to see this.
🤞
No, Capcom should not turn Outbreak into a RE Engine remake and have content get removed. They should just bring Outbreak File 1 and 2 back as one game with all the mechanics from File 2.
I'd happily take that!
I really suck at this game and to me its the scariest in the series. I had the pleasure of playing this when it first came out but never played online. It was fun as hell once I figured out the puzzles and trying every characters special abilities out. Who was your favorite? Mine was the cop.
Yeah Kevin, he was my #1 too 👌
Remake? Neh
I propose something much better, Resident Evil Outbreak files HD Remaster Director's Cut. Adding the scenarios and enemies they retreated.

I have to admit, it didn't stand out to me at the time, I didn't give it much thought in the reload department
I would love to play this game online but I don’t know anyone who would have the time to dedicate to playing a longer play session for a game they most likely aren’t interested in, much less having to go through the trouble of emulating and setting up an old game from 2003.

They seem doubtful on CV remake currently so I think we'll be waiting for a while yet 😭
This was one of the first ps2 games I ever owned, and I was absolutely terrible at it. Always played Jim just so I could play dead

you had a alot of great points in this video I was 21 when this came out and the online mod was ok I guess but it was way ahead of its time has we well know and for capcom to remake it in the hole new RE-Engine would be wicked but will that ever remake this game who knows right it would make them a loads of cash a online server now that has potential I wouldn't stop there they could even update it by integrating every Resident Evil game into it citys monsters zombies they would make a killing just think about it for a mint here DLC's it would be like GTA 5 online but a horror this would be the key for RE fans well thats my idea anyway
I kid you not I literally beat a door that required a specific key item, until it opened. I was shocked to say the least (I was bored Incase anyone's wondering why I did it)

Kevin is the top lad 🙌
I wish capcom would just do it, its money on the table that they just don't want...for some reason?
Honestly, since always I've been saying it needs a good remaster and not a remake.
I would LOVE a remake if done properly, but it's Capcom, and they can't do a proper multiplayer RE anymore.
Just this amazing game with over the shoulder camera and the typical shooting thing like REsistance and REverse did would ruin it and follow the trend this games did with failing.
they really should of remade outbreak instead of re4, maybe even re3, or making the mess that was ORC, outbreak was great, and they should be able to expand so much on it, even making files on newer BOW outbreaks cases
A remaster HD with online and fast loading screen ! No remake or they will kill it as RE3 !

They are annoying - online play easily the best way to get around that
Just bought it for 20 USD at half price books the other day. Seems like I got a good price on it.
How was the condition?
Hmm...well for a remake would be complicated considering that to beat Resident Evil Outbreat File 2 as a remake you would need to be able to be able to play it with other players in your house and online so you could beat it.
You could do it with online play easy enough though right?

There is literally no incentive for Capcom to do a remake or remaster of this.

If you ever want to try it with people let me know and I'll set up a community night 👌
It can't be helped 👍
BUT
Give it another go just incase 😅
I wasnt aware you could carry items between scenarios? you said you had carried a keycard for the majority of the game, Did you mean the majority of the scenario ?
Yeah the scenario 👍
The loading times of 11-14 seconds is what killed this game for me
They didn't stand out to me for some reason, I just played jedi fallen order and the 10 or so seconds that takes to get back into the action killed me!
Those servers have been shut down though?
Me alegra saber que la comunidsd anglosajona tambien quiere un remake/remaster de un juego MUY ADELANTADO A SU EPOCA.
Dino Crisis needs a remake more than this and Code Veronica
I played it on ps2 when it was new but I never made it past the 2nd level.
Its a tough one, you should go back and try again!
Can't wait to see a remake of this game absolutely filled with microtransactions.
Unfortunately I think you're right 😭
