Rocking the huntsman V2 tkl right now..seems like the tkl version of this is the perfect upgrade come next month. Thanks for the review Techne!

Thanks maan for such a passionate video .. Definitely adding this to my wishlist..
Its so cool thst your one of the first people to get out a video on this thing. Its just like the logitech g915 which i wanted to love but it just fell short. This is perfect. Thanks Techne. Keep em comin!
thanks for watching man!
Try keychron low profile ist better typing experience and 60$
@@oppi263 I know about that board but unfortunately it doesn't do it for me in terms of aesthetics and I cant remap the keys. I hate big box premium prices as much as the next guy but this one has everything I want in a keyboard. So gonna have to suck it up. Appreciate the recommendation though!
i always love your reviews so much! and from the perspective of a gamer! Im sold, i wanna get this keyboard now :D
I'll be honest with you, Razer really has been popping off. Since they released the Viper and Huntsman TE, they're really been doing what people want and gradually getting better at it. I've got the TE and it's honestly still a great keyboard, so cool that they didn't just stop there but decided to try and perfect stuff.
Agree, and we still have more to come 😉

Was considering buying the Wooting 60HE, but ended up buying this bc it’s way faster to ship and man… this keyboard is insane. I was wanting the .1 ms reaction keys, but these keys are insanely fast as well with more features too.
So I have been wanting to get the Fnatic Streak LP in white for quite some time, but it seems it has been out of stock for months in ANSI format. How would you compare this keyboard to the Fnatic keyboard? Which would you run as a main over the other? Thanks and great content once again!
I have a quick question that I would like to ask you. If you were to choose between this keyboard and the Apex Pro, which one would you choose and why. Really hope I can get a reply. Thank you
Great review, Techne! It seems like based on the pricing of these boards, they will be the direct competitors or the Logitech G915/815 keyboards that came out a few years back. Would you consider making a comparison video between the two?
Just them having Usb-c is an upgrade here and I believe the Logitech only connects to dongle and one bluetooth device. Wouldn’t mind a switch comparison though. I think optical is going to be an advantage.
I love the 915 but man this takes the cake easily.
@@TheTechne What makes it better than the G915? I have the G815 but would like to make the switch to wireless
@@Tanner_Teves From what I can tell aside from the razer motif and personal add ons these boards are pretty much the same. The main difference i know of is that the razer one can have its keys remapped with its software and hypershift capabilities while the logitech can only have the designated macro keys remapped (reason why it fell short to me.) All in all. Razer seems to have taken logitechs design, slapped some razer branding and such on it and made it a more evolved version of logitechs.
@@colragonboi3341 Nice, looks like I'll be going with the Razer board then. I also like the all black aesthetic, I know most people like the brushed aluminum but the all black will match my setup better haha.
Question I have is if you have dabbled with custom keyboards then why would this one become your main? No hate just curiosity
How does the sound and feel compare directly to the Huntsman V2 TKL? It’s currently my main gaming keyboard as well and my ONLY complaint is the high profile, but the feel and sound is so good that I was more than happy to give up my dream of low profile version ;) So happy they finally went low profile linear
feels just like it, but without that mild per key stabilizer rattle. Man if you love the V2 YKL like I did, this is a dream come true man!
@@TheTechne thank you for the reply and a great review to start with, that enthusiasm alone is a high mark for it ;) Sounds like my dream keyboard come true, though a wired TKL version would be perfection, since the battery only adds cost and an extremely minuscule fire hazard (the cost is by far the bigger factor here, lol). Since I just got my Huntsman just over a month ago, I feel I need to wait anyways, so one can hope Razer sees the call for one and listens because it seems to be one of the most common comments so far :D
Love the chapter names :)
Good review techne!! Please make a review on the new kone xp air😱
Thank u, and will do
Other reviewers mentioned some connectivity issues at 8-10 ft distance with Razer wireless keyboards, is it the case with this one as well?
I’m a sucker for this already. Full size for home and maybe tkl for to-go. This will be perfect. Waiting for them to do this!
Just because razer has made bad products in the past doesn't mean that they are doomed to stay on that course. We should all be happy that we have more options for more tech from more companies. Can't wait to try out this keyboard.
For me it’s not that they made bad products in the past(a ton of them) it’s their corny marketing, green and black snakes and weird names. Like it’s right up a 14 year old monster energy chugging kids lane. Not for me. And synapse has to be the worst peripheral software ever
mannn, love your so passionate!! "these customed keyboards, as good as they are, they just dont come close to..." applauded
Oh im hyped, cant wait To See the Video. Hope it has No Case Ping, and MX silvers or reds
Techne, this or huntsman v2? Both wired and red switch. Best overall?
I'm stuck between this and the TKL version. Thoughts? I've never used anything beside full sized keyboard. Gonna be playing FPS games and Diablo 4.
Beautiful piece of tech
Oh boy, finally something to replace my old steelseries keyboard. If only razer also release basilisk v3 pro this year. It would be perfect.
haha same hope for me too, basilisk v3 wireless would be a dream
So this video really got me, I bought the keeb (well, the wired version since I don't actually need it to be wireless) from Amazon yesterday and it will arrive on Monday. I have high expectations on it since I come from a razer huntsman tournament edition. Let's see how it turns out 😳🔪.
I like the look of this keyboard, but I also have a 915. I went from all razer to a mix as I use a 915 with brown switches now and a razer mouse, but I use the keyboard for work and play. The reason I switched was because razer and their synapse software is too intrusive (I have a company issued computer for work) and is too heavy as a background task in my opinion which was the ultimate factor in my decision to switch.
It's the opposite for me. I used to have Logitech Keyboard, Mouse, and Headset. I ended up switching to a wireless razer headset, and now I'm using the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboard. My mouse is still Logitech as I am way too invested in the positioning of the G502 buttons, but I can't stand Logitech's G Hub software (thank God for the on board memory manager).
If you do not touch the keyboard, how long will the backlight stay on. Can that be adjusted? If you use it whired, will the backlight stay on?
I just need this keyboard to complete my gaming setup :D cant wait to grab it
Upgraded from HyperX Alloy Elite 2 to this one just for those Beautiful WIRELESS and Low Profile TKL ... but I do hope this felt better to type on than my Alloy Elite 2 , I hope its not as loud as this HyperX ... I just ordered it today
Picking the TKL up ASAP. I’ve been looking for something comparable to my G915 TKL with the low profile switches and this looks promising. I also have a huntsman mini but I’m so used to the low profile switches on my 915 that all other keyboards feel too high off the desk and a wrist wrest takes too much space.
The TKL is out of stock, tried ordering one and got hit with the out of stock sign
Same here. Will probably have to end up waiting a week or two
Look at the wrist rests from Glorious O. I have a 915 and they have a small tkl low pro wrist rest and it has been a game changer for me.
Hey Techne, if you love that Bluetooth functionality on this, you'll probably like the Barracuda Pro headphones 😊

@@TheTechnehave you still been using it? I am thinking on buying it but I need to know if it holds up
For the multiple computers, how are you handling the mouse
does quick access switching only work for bluetooth or does it work for hyperspeed as well?
I love your videos!!
I love your comment :)
@@TheTechne I feel you give good and honest reviews! so thank you for that!
I have a huntsman v2 tkl and absolutely love it. I just might want. Smaller one.
Love the good and honest reviews, I’ve had the Apex 7 TKL since launch and Razers products always stand out to me so I may give the Deathstalker TKL a go. Heck maybe even my typos will go down 😁
I just odered this. Do you think it will be good for competitive fps games. Because of it being wireless? Can't you just use it wired.
One of the worst thing about optical switch is the feeling is not as good as mechanical and Its really hard to fix if it break you just gonna throw it out bcs not many people can fix it
keep calm and don't throw your keyboard then.
thank you Razer. nice review
How would you choose between Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro TKL and Razer BlackWidow V4 75% with Yellow switches for gaming?
Hi is it splashproof or water proof?
Considering getting the wired full size v2, how does it fare playing FPS games despite the bigger layout- is it still comfortable?
I used it playing a bunch of halo. I prefer TKL, but the fullsize was fine
I'm waiting for a revised Huntsman Elite or equivalent with that fabulous built in led wrist rest.
Nice review but one question remains unanswered😊 It's not even answer on the Razer website. Can it be used with Android and/or iPhone/Apple TV?
My worry with razor products is the software is trash, I have a deathadder and don't use it, it conflicts ams is system heavy, what is your experience?
Was thinking about putting razer phantom keycaps on this board. Do you think that would work or are the switches too short for them?
Tries using normal height keycaps with the deathstalker v2 pro. You can use them fine with the smaller keys. For the ones with stabs, They hit the stabs so you cant place them on the switch
@ the techne They did not market this as hotswapable but it is, you can use the low profile keychron switches!
Really digging companies checking low profile for their keyboards.
Only issue about these though, for me, is battery life since switches are optical.
you can RAZER DEATHSTALKER V2 PRO TENKEYLESS wired.
Hey does your unit have a weird shrilling noise next to the 2.4ghz Bluetooth switch? It's very audible when you select a Bluetooth connection. I wonder if I got a defective one =/. The range is incredible but that shrilling sound yeash.
So I tried a few of them (5) and they seem to have the same exact issue. It's like an electronic buzz noise. I think it was designed that way or the batch I got all 5 from are from the same batch. It might be a fan inside the keyboard maybe or something but it is definitely noticeable on all the units I bought.

Finally something that can replace my g915 tkl. The key wobble drives me insane...
the key wobble is what drove me away from that board, otherwise great board!
I think g915 look more attractive than razer deathstalker v2 pro but i cant deny that logitech switch and keycap really suck and they dont improve anything for years
@@TienTran-uq6to Logitech uses re-branded, and re-colored Kailh Chocolate switches, which were great when they came out back in like 2016/2017, but they use proprietary keycaps because instead of having the + stem they have two little slots, so finding good quality replacement caps is super difficult.
Honestly after looking at input lag on a ton of mainstream keyboards I have way more respect for Corsair and Razer keyboards.
How does it compare to the original deathstalker?
Black widow V3 Mini Hyperspeed here. Love the board. My fiancé and I both have one.

Hey ! I hesitate between huntsman v2 / apex pro Tkl / asus rog strix scope rx. My priority is confort, not speed activation.
An advice ?
Ive been waiting for the Huntsman V2 tkl to go on sale. Secretly hoping this release might help do that...but might have to keep an eye on this one

That does seem odd

The fact that Logitech is still on Micro-USB was enough to make me choose Razer this time around.
This is basically an improved Logitech which is already an amazing board. I already thought about getting the G915 but it’s small problems holder me back so this is an easy buy for me. Logitech gotta be fuming at their mouth tough so it’s interesting to see if they will release an upgraded version relatively soon

I love Razer boards, but I'm not a low profile fan. For one thing, you can't change the keycaps easily, and I do love PBT keycaps. My daily driver is an older Razer, and it's still solid after years. Looks good, too. But they can keep the low profile keys. BTW, the volume wheel looks awfully like a Logitech one, doesn't it? I was so excited when I saw Razer said these would be low profile silent switches, but these don’t sound anywhere close to a silent switch. They’re are so much louder than even the loudest silent switches I’ve ever used. I’m so bummed.
Man, you always release vids at the PERFECT time, I'm looking to get a keyboard pretty soon and this review solidified my choice, thanks!

huntsman with gen2 linear optical switches (red) is where it's at, though... this one's good, but not as good as the huntsman version, lol.

Way too expensive, which is something I'm used to because every one of my peripherals are from Razer, and have been through several upgrades over ten years, Xbox controller included (wolverine v2 chroma). But $200+ for a low profile keyboard? Hard pass. $150 for the low end and $180 for the high would be more reasonable.. I completely disagree that the price is justified.
Logitech G915 has been out for awhile for this price and been selling really well , I own the G915 TKL and it’s absolutely amazing!
Razer is years late on this product.
Still agree it’s expensive but Logitech dictated the price not Razer
its even more expensive in eu atleast germany like wtf

Your thoughts about death stalker vs razer black widow 3 mini?
Man, why the tkl version only has the linear switches 🥲 need a clicky one to compare with my current main g915 tkl smh 🤦
FINALLY! someone is taking on logitech in more than just the gaming space, cause this taking on the g915 AND the mxkeys love it
Razer and Logitech is like Apple and Samsung for mouse, keyboard, and headset for gaming.
I have been using the Logitech G915 for about 2 years now and recently I bought the Deathstalker V2 Pro because I wanted a G915 without the annoying G keys on the left hand side. The Deathstalker V2 Pro was very similar to the G915. Both low-profile, both really good battery life and no latency. However... the Deathstalker V2 Pro has narrower keycaps with a bit more curvature to them. This caused me to make more typos than I'd like because I kept hitting the key next to the one I wanted to press. That said, I ended up returning the Deathstalker V2 Pro and going back to my Logitech G915 just so i could have the slightly wider, flatter keycaps. Just thought I'd throw that out there because none of the reviewers on youtube are mentioning this fact. If you have dainty fingers, the Deathstalker V2 Pro will be absolutely fine for you. If you have sausage fingers like me, stick with the Logitech G915.
What switches in 915 do you have?

Question for anyone who has this. Has anyone tried putting their ear next to the power button while the keyboard is on only to hear a buzzing/electrical sound? Wondering if this is normal. It's a very low noise, and noticeable during quiet hours if you lean in.
Can't notice it on mine though my hearing may not be as good as yours. Like most things like what you stated, the more you try and listen out for it the more you'll notice it. Just try and ignore.
i think if they make it 65 and pbt keycaps it could really compete against the logitech variants
TKL all day everyday.
I've always liked it whenever there was like easter eggs in stuff like the video's timestamp thingies, made me smile whenever I saw "Now I can't pay my bills" "Yeah because you're skipping" keep doing those if you have just started them lol
lol, I have done them a few times before
Have you ever used the G915? This is just a copy of it except released 3 years later at the same price pretty much
I had two of them
@@TheTechne Is it really that much better that it justifies the price premium over the 915?
Waiting for the TKL version.
my issue with this is the fact that it has absolutely nothing in common to the original deathstalker, pretty much everything is changed except the name. I say this as someone who used the original deathstalker chroma for years as well as a corsair low profile keyboard that looks very similar to this new release
and its not like this is razers *lowest* profile switch either, they literally make laptops that have more of a "deathstalker" look than this. if they had gone that route than id probably think of this more positively
