As a gamer of around 40 years, I can tell you that insanely tall and excessively loud keys are *NOT* what I want. I don't need everyone in the house to hear that I am on my computer.
I lived through the 70s and 80s and those PS1 keyboards are *SUPPOSED* to be a thing of the past.

Regular keyboard gives my finger cramps.

EXACTLY. Full height keys feel like a mechanical typewriter.

    @WeDoTech - Hey there,
I'm an Owner of this keyboard and what I like and don't is simple:
LowProfile, because I don't like the larger gaps between the keys of regular keyboards.
The way to get the key triggered is much shorter than on regular keyboards - so it's faster by design.
I like to be able to use the keyboard while sitting on the couch, because it's not cable bound.
I like that the keyboard is slim.
I'm currently on training the battery, but it's already over-performing the battery lifetime official reported by the manufacturer.
F.e. 2.4GHz wireless-mode with 50% Light-Intensity ~45,5hrs against BT wireless-mode at 47hrs, but on thuesday the battery was charged to 100% and I used the keyboard so far for more than 32hrs and the battery still remains 17%+ capacity. Training the battery is a mess.^^
What I really don't like about this keyboard is, that BT wireless mode needs some seconds to reconnect, maybe after energysaving-mode (deep-sleep) or when I restart the PC.
I don't like the fact, that your 2.4GHz USB HyperSpeed Dongle could get broken after the firmware-update, what happened to me on the first one, before a week, so this is my second keyboard, it got exchanged.
I don't like the ultra fast response of the keys - sounds strange, but man this keyboard reacts at the moment too fast for my personal taste, I really have to use it more, to get comfortable with it.
I don't like that you have to lube the switches by yourself, to prevent plastic abrasion on the switches - I had to do it twice and that takes some time.
I don't like that I can't exchange the switches against f.e. linear silver switches, which has weaker springs against the red switches.
I don't like that I can't exchange the keycaps, because the market is rare of LowProfile-KeyCaps! - I mean imagine to upgrade A-Y and 0-9 keycaps, with translucent matte white keycaps and all the system/function keys with translucent matte black keycaps. Yep, this would look even without the backlight really custom and when you turn the led's on ... what an effect!
    Sidenotes:
If you don't lube the switches, the pressure on every key is slightly higher and if you use the keyboard much for typing, you will definitely feel it and the difference after lubing.
If you don't lube the switches, the keyboard will be slightly louder while using it.
There're reports about "Coil Whine" of the keyboard, but in my case of two of them, none of them had it, irrelevant if I use it with the cable or in wireless-modes.
I don't know why that was a thing, maybe after the first charges of them, there were some changes on technical parts ... who knows?
I chatted with Razer-Support about missing keycaps or the possibility to individualize them and I will get a mail about news on this. Razer has some keycaps, for their regular keyboards, but not interesting ones ... translucent light-pink, I mean nahhh ... the translucent Razer-Green ones and what do I have RGB-LED's for (?) ... and the simple black ones, which I don't need, because I already have black keycaps.^^
    That's not much ... what a pity.^^
What do you mean @WeDoTech ... imagine translucent matte white and matte black keycaps customized on this keyboard .. whoops there goes my brain!^^

    Razer amazing keyboard
I would like to see a Corsair K100 Air wireless TKL version :-)
I love low profile keyboards. I don't feel pain in my wrist after longer time of gaming. Also I can press the keys much faster because they are low profile Awesome for fps games and typing .It took me around 1 month to adjust to low profile but now i would never go back to traditional switches.
my ideal keyboard would be a 96% low profile optical switches with 1000 polling rate over 2.4 Wireless

I never understood why people want their fingers raised the extra 1/2 inch in the air to begin with. It is an unnatural shape and position. Even with the wrist pad. Chiclet keyboards are the best, but settling for low profile mechanical or membrane is fine compared to full depth mechanical keys/caps.

Also, PBT is a harder plastic. It is not a higher quality plastic when compared to ABS. It is clickier in sound.
ABS is softer and more quiet. It is more forgiving if you drop something on your keyboard.

    • @ameserich
      @ameserich 4 місяці тому

ABS are also more flexible, they dont break easily like PBT... i remember in the past there are alot of discussion about PBT keycaps stems breaking when used on Kailh Box Switches

I prefer low profile keyboards are it doesnt take a toll on your wrist after long hours of typing.

My suggestion if your going to spend a lot for a keyboard, which is awesome. Buy the G915 and Razer Deathstalker V2 TKL. I own both. Try out each one and see what works for you. Both are awesome, both have massive bullshit annoyances, both have something the other doesn't. Application if you choose to install. The synapse is easier to use than GHUB. Both key boards are quality and both cut costs on quality in design. Try both out if your spending that much please.

I own the TKL version and a Razer Blade 15, and I love how they match in width.

I have the TKL one, an impulse purchase, it's Nice but I wish they'd made the keycaps from PBT and properly lubed the stabs. Haven't bothered to do it myself yet. But what is also Very curious is that you can swap out the SWITCHES for keychron's optical ones...

@@snilloconator how fast is the switch between bluetooth and 2.4G? like how much of a delay is there to register a key when switching from one to the other.

Buyer beware, wireless doesn't work when wired.
So if you got 2 computers and you want to use DS V2 for both of them, forget charging it via PC USB port. Gotta use external charger.

Maybe unpopular opinion but let me explain. i currently have k70mk2 low profile with silver switches for about 4 years. why should i upgrade to optical switches while these keyboards doesnt even have a USB connection? i use that port everyday to charge my vaping machines or w/e. am i the only one who is triggered by this? i mean you spend about 200 euro/usd and you cant even have that on a wired keyboard?

What's making me switch is that the deathstalker switches are hot swappable. My 2016 K70 gave out on a few keys and now here I am having to buy a whole new keyboard.
Bye bye Corsair with their stupid soldering requirements and metal ping noises in the newer K70..

At 3:38, is that "Cooler Master Sk-650-Gklr1-US SK650 Mechanical Keyboard"? Can you confirm whether those keycaps fit for the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL please? This information would be really helpful, as I prefer the look of those keycaps than the Deathstalker default
