Good list, I'm glad you put some hidden gems on here like Alien Soldier. Alien Soldier is amazing, but polarizing. Some people hate it because they wanted it to be like Gunstar Heroes, but I prefer to think of it like a scrolling fighting game. I would add Sparkster, Ranger X and Shinobi III. Sparkster is really underrated, but it's amazing, I like it more than Rocket Knight. Graphics and gameplay are all huge improvements over the original. Ranger X is awesome, the controls might take a little getting used to, but they work incredibly well once you get the hang of it. Graphics are amazing too. Shinobi III is just brilliant, the best pure action game on the Genesis. Couple of honorable mentions would be Alisia Dragoon, Panorama Cotton, Thunderforce III, Eliminate Down, and Shining Force 1 and 2 (actually SF1 should be on the main list!).
Shinobi 3 is on the list, but I talked about the first game a bit during that part of it. Shinobi 3 is the best of the series and you could say is the placeholder game for that spot. The first game is fabulous though. I used to play it all the time on the 6 pack. (Which was probably my most played game back in the day)
It was really close to making the list. 20 always seems like a decent amount, then when I actually put the lists together and see even how fast honorable mentions fill up, I realize how easy it is to be forced to leave stuff out.
@@KurodaKyousuke You have games like Golden Axe on there, which is not a top 20 game. Because if Golden Axe can make it to top 20, then so should Revenge of Shinobi, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, Strider and a lot of those good older titles, but none of them can really measure up to the later releases. Phantasy Star IV (and Shining Force II) belong in the top 20.
This is a really solid list! I'm suprised you didn't mention how Sonic 2 could use the Lock-on technology of Sonic and Knuckles to allow you to play as Knuckles in Sonic 2. You'd be suprised how many people don't know that... lol
@@dscottplays4700 thanks! I did know that, I didn't really mention it because I sort of paired Sonic 3 and Knuckles together and wanted to specifically talk about Sonic 2 on its own. I should have mentioned it in the Sonic & Knuckles part.
Love you're comments of best games. Saw you' best snes games videos more then maybe nearly 20 times! But still love them! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for the very kind words! Congrats, this is now the pinned comment!
Playing as Tails is the epitome of little brother always get Player 2 lol
Not having Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force II in a top 20 best genesis games list should be a crime.

Shinobi III is already on the list and Sparkster is not really that great.
@@Rolls7 No, Revenge of Shinobi is on the list. And Sparkster is extremely good.

@@KurodaKyousuke My mistake, but Sparkster is still extremely good
@@EnigmaHood I probably should have mentioned that as well with Rocket Knight.
Nice choices my dude great video!
Good list! Gauntlet IV, Grenada and Skeleton Krew would be ones I think are missing from the list and honorable mentions. 20 is just not enough!
If Sword of Sodan isn't on this list, I'm gonna lose it!
😬
@@KurodaKyousuke that's OK, as long as "Awesome Possum… Kicks Dr. Machino’s Butt" is on here!
Phantasy star IV definitely should have been on this list

Definitely agree with this one, it's not only probably the best RPG on the system, but arguably one of the best RPGs of the era

I thought Land Stalker and Light Crusader could have made the list.
They definitely could have. Too many great games!

Good list...I'd put Shinning Force 1 & 2 in one place there...the best rpg of Genesis in my opinion.
In Brawl, Sm4sh, and Ultimate, Pikachu's final smash - Volt Tackle - is a reference to Pulseman who can do the same
Rolling Thunder 2 and 3👍
Streets of rage 1 and 2 should've been number 1, they're by far the greatest sega genesis games.
Streets of Rage 3 is my favorite in the trilogy but the music in the first two games were better
Can you do a video on the top 20 best Wii-U Games!
@@LucaS-c1j Yes. These videos take a while but I'm sure I will eventually get to it. I'd expect GameCube next.
@@KurodaKyousuke Yes Sir!
I'd fit all the Sonic games on here, minus Somic Eraser.
What 3 games would you have picked f you didn't have 4 sonic games on the list?
Sega cd and 32X was the worst that Sega Genesis had, it should have developed games for this platform and not peripherals as happened with Snes
also, FIRST!
