    The reason -1 errors is because you selected price or capacity. What you want to select is 'Capacity Only' which is equivalent to specifying -1 via powershell :)

      The issue I have is that the docs show you can set this but it is not possible in the portal and therefore the docs are unclear/inaccurate you can see the issue here learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/spot-vms#:~:text=For%20example%2C%20the%20value%200.98765would%20be%20a%20max%20price%20of%20%240.98765%20USD%20per%20hour.%20If%20you%20set%20the%20max%20price%20to%20be%20%2D1%2C%20the%20VM%20won%27t%20be%20evicted%20based%20on%20price

    and i can give you some free tips as well.... not sure if you are using a green screen or trying to go the ez way and use one of the "software" solutions, but either way, the reason you have tearing around the edges is nearly always a lighting issue. If you have a decent rig and an actual green screen.... you simply get the settings close enough and the rest is lighting. I spent an eternity trying to optimize my way out of having to fix my lighting issue. What i learned after repeating that small eternity every time i began a stream was the brighter your set, the more distinct your colors.... the more distinct your colors, the cleaner your edges will look when keying via color.
    To pull off great chroma keying, id say its about 60% lighting, 22% wardrobe, 12% optimized settings, and 6% "????".

      Thanks, I know there is some tearing as I am using a software solution, since this video I now I have a couple of elgato lights, but I do not have the space for the green screen. One day I will get around to getting a better camera too. At the moment the priority is finding the time to record and edit different topics!
      If I can grow the channel to a few thousand, then I will start throwing money at sets and editors.

    Hi @Milke, thanks for this great information. I have one question, if i select Azure Hybrid Benefit and i have Win Server license, MS says i need to have active software assurance to use that license on cloud. So, what to do in this case?

      I am not too sure, and when money is on the line with licences always go with what your Microsoft Licence provider tells you, as that way there is recourse should it not be correct in an audit. Do not just go off what you read online if there is any ambiguity

    I can't create a spot vm of any size in any region, why is that?

    • @mwcloud
      @mwcloud  6 місяців тому

      probably not registered on your subscription. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/spot-vms look at the section about offer types

      @@mwcloud Going by the error message I get, spot instances are basically never available... Which is fine but they could say that when choosing the size instead of making you go through the whole vm create process. So you basically have to be lucky to get a spot instance it seems.
