The two things I noticed from the pictures that I really dig is that the jack in on the side of the body, not the front and and the strap button is above the neck plate to avoid that annoying neck dive. And I see it sounds great. Good review. Thank you, sir!
And I like the thiner neck. I love my Squire Bullet Strat, but I'd like something with a skinnier neck.
I'm really enjoying these videos as they're honest and very helpful and informative. They also show young folks you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good sounding, decent looking rig.Nice job!
Hi William. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you get what I'm trying to convey. I absolutely believe that great instruments are out there and at affordable prices. One doesn't need to spend a fortune to have a great playing, great sounding guitar and amp. It just takes a bit of trial and error, listening to yourself and working out what you want to achieve, and then finding the right gear for you!
They are amazingly good for their price. Especially considering they’re not just a crappy gear4music guitar.
Yep. I'm constantly amazed that such guitars are on the market at these prices. Sometimes hard to believe they're making any money.
Ik I have a gear4music guitar that is more expensive than this and the harley benton completely out preforms it
Very good looking. The guitar looks good too!
*blush*
@@edeastandthebeasts I couldn't resist
Hello. Good review thank you so much. I am more than a starter and this guitar seems great but I don't know should I buy or not. What do you think?
Thanks for the review. I have the same one in black version. On the higher notes my strap seems in the way. Is that normal, or did i set it up wrong?
Interesting. The strap fits to the neck heel on SG type guitars. One thing you could try, if you haven't already, is putting the strap on the neck pin back to front. This way the strap lies flat down your chest and doesn't twist.
Very nice review. Cheap does not mean crap nowadays. I see you are using a Echolette Showstar Amp. I use to have several of them. Black and tan. With matching cabinets. Unfortunately i did not keep them. I am into Fenders since the early 80ies. In the sixties, Echolettes and Dynacords have been the only affordable ones. Still they have had hefty price tags then.
Hey. Thanks for the great feedback. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes I absolutely love the echolette. Here in Germany they can be found from time to time at a decent price and then you have all the joy of a classic 60s tube amp without the price tag of a vintage fender. They have great tone as well. Really warm and if you put a line booster in front of it to drive the tubes it saturated beautifully!
Great review ! I'm thinking of buying one now...
Did you make any adjustments before playing this guitar ?
Thanks! In fact, no, I didn't make any adjustments to this guitar since we got it. It still plays really well with a great action. Over time the input jack socket has come a bit loose and the cable wobbles a bit instead of sitting tightly in the socket, so I need to tighten that, but that is really a very simple five minute job of unscrewing the jack plate and tightening the nuts. When I have the time I'll probably also give it a really nice setup and adjust the heights of the pickup poles, but for now it's an absolutely playable and fun guitar.
on the selector switch is there kind of one that sounds a bit more oomphy like blacksabbathy just wondering (this is prob a dumb question lol)
There are no dumb questions here! I think what I would suggest is that the sound you're looking for is not specifically related to selector switch. Selecting between pickups just gives you different tonality: Neck pickup is bassier, Bridge pickup is treblier. Both together, sure that's a bit oomphier. But I think to get a Sabbath sound you want to think about the kind of amplifier you'ee using, and then maybe take a quick dip into the worl dof effects pedals. Some kind of Fuzz or Distortion pedal will give you extra distortion to the sound, and Sabbath were pretty heavy in that department!
Seems like a great guitar for the price but it's a shame the input is on the side as opposed to the front like the usual sg design, was one of the main reasons I'm looking for one, so much more comfortable for me to play sitting down
Yes, interesting point. Have you tried an L-shaped jack and then running the cable through the strap, so it doesn't hang down . This was always the tip for on stage so as not damaging the cable when you step on it.
Is it smaller then a normal one ?
No. This is a full size guitar.
А бывает эта модель в коричневом цвете ?
Hi, thanks for the question. If google translate is correct, you want to know if this model comes in brown.
As far as I am aware, this model only comes in cherry red or black. However, interestingly, Epiphone do an entry-level SG-shape guitar in natural wood finish, so it's brown with a wood effect. I haven't tried one yet, but really want to, as I also really like the colour. All the budget guitars I've had from Epiphone are also very good for the money.

@@edeastandthebeasts thank you very much
In the video she looks like some kind of red-matte but in real life she has a rich cherry color
You're absolutely right. The camera or lighting perhaps didn't capture the deep rich cherry colour. It stands up alongside any classic cherry red guitar.
Whats the song on 10:18?
Thanks for asking!
That's a song called Ether Radio that I wrote and recorded for Island records with my band Chikinki many years ago!
