- A challenging and very fun kick drum groove. This pattern is polyrhythmic and will be a great exercise to help you get comfortable with metric modulation when creating kick drum patterns.

Thank you SO much for this feedback! It makes me feel great to know that others are able to draw some value from these videos! I plan to put up lots of these, so hopefully I can continue to inspire you! :)
I start watching your vids because of the covers, but this lessons are very useful.
I subbed you recently, and have not been disappointed since!! You inspire me to become sooo much better than I am right now!! Keep up the amazing vids!
I'm not one for knowing what you're talking about, but I know how to put it to drums. xD. I love the lessons, bro. Thank you for them! :D
Thanks, Jacob! Putting it to the drums is what it's all about, no matter how you get there!....that's what we're hoping to help people with. :)
AWESOME man! You've earned yourself another subscriber!
Love your work!
I still have a dm5, myself....when I get back into the studio, I'll look up the settings I had on it for you!
haha, well I don't know about that....but thank you! Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you for the feedback! :)
alesis dm5, 2 bass drums. I was using a wooden beater but i went back to a flat (old tama) felt beater.
Thank you so much! :)
Only the kicks, yes.
Insane man! You should do a meshuggah cover, that'd be awesome
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Thanks! :)
very good brother, good enough to get me a lot ahy, I hope some day to know how you, I will continue watching your videos, the perfect B.Y.O.B cover
dude you are god !!
For a sec i thought you had snowboarding boots on hahha, What do you recommend for a trigger settings, x-talk, v curve etc..
haha, snowboarding boots...that would be funny! What kind of drum module are you using? Are you using a single kick with double pedal or two kicks? There are sooooo many variables, that it is difficult to give a specific recommendation for those settings...but I will try to help the best I can! :)
I like your act.. the problem is I don't have any drums
thx, i"m using a setting that my teacher (d. Roddy) helped with and its coming out great. But I want to save another channel, so I'm asking around for some settings. Anything helps. Thx for posting videos, as drummers we should learn a little from everyone.
The "click" has more to do with the eq'ing on the sampled sound more than the trigger, itself. You can find triggers at just about any music store or online...but I wouldn't recommend buying the really cheap ones. Go for ddrum- they're accurate and they last.
Yea I noticed it because of that little click at the end of the hit.....do you know where I could get some?
a video of polyrhythmic drum pattern? No other band out there to showcase that topic than good ol' Veil of Maya.
Do you use triggers?
Is that a tama or pearl or any of those
some really beautiful crash cymbals here. i dig that k crash but the snare and sabian china ruin it for me :(
Dude u used to be such a rad channel but u havent uploaded a drum video in over 4 years :( feels bad man
i play good drums, but i dont know those notes, or stuff! :( is it bad?
None of us are born knowing...it's all a process, my friend! ;)
Learn THEORY man. I always put it off but if you want to be a serious musician, you gotta know your shit.
+Ant Ants me too man
play the beat THEN TALK!!!
You do know that there is the ability to seek further ahead in the video, yes?
yeah, I'm just lazy and have a very short attention span. the video is brill.
Thanks! :)
