The condition of your antifreeze/coolant is critical too! Here in the Midwest, it easily gets down to -20°C if not much lower, bad coolant can freeze and your engine won't be able to start, or worse could actually crack the engine block.
I like to give the glass some Rain X treatment during the winter months. Rain repellent on the exterior, including lights and anti-fog on the interior. Helps with visibility on cold wet mornings. Winter type screen wash that doesn't freeze so easily. If you can make use of a refractometer it's worth checking the antifreeze mix in the coolant too. Especially if your location is prone to reaching extremely cold temperatures. Also if your car is fitted with cabin filters I give them a check just to make sure they won't reduce the air flow for the HVAC system.

Weekly trip to the brushless car wash. Give the chassis a proper wash down with hot soapy water. I have PIAA Hyper Arros 2500k yellow fog lights. Excellent in low visibility conditions.
Just fitted new boots to me l322, scorpion verde seems to have been killed off so went with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season NCS (Land Rover) 255/50 R20 and have been super impressed.
I've swapped the mixture that was on the car for Scorpion Zero All season. There's only summer or all season available now. The difference it's made to the ride is very noticeable, especially the drop in rolling noise. Cornering is better too, particularly noticeable at the back.
My truck had the same problem the moment I put the puddle lights, they won't work with both LED in, but works with one in. I put a power cable in to the battery out to the grill that allows me to plug in a trickle charger without opening the hood.
My number one tip is flush a/c drain tubes, flush all four sun roof drain tubes, clean drain area on sunroof, treat all your rubber seals, lastly treat your windows with a rain x type treatment. These little things make our Land Rovers that much better in winter.

Just fitted the uppgraded Headlights, dipped and mainbeam , also was an upgrade from the V45 fitted last year to the V55 , Aliexpress delivery was less than two weeks. Thanks again.
Having the same issue with the puddle (approach) lights. Put the old bulbs back in but still no joy (they were working prior to upgrading. Read online that you can force the door control module to do a reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a short while. Going to try that.
You seem to be extremely knowledgeable so I’m going to take your brain. I have an 06 Range Rover supercharged with 116k, had 82 when I purchased it 2 years ago. It’s been in the shop because it wouldn’t start. We replaced the battery and alternator. I got it back and 45 minutes later battery lights came on. I took it back and the found the vehicle PWM sense circuit sending 12 volts out of return side of PCM. this fried the alternator that was previously installed. Recommend to replace vehicle PCM along with alternator. So that was done and when they went to get it ready for me to pickup they called and said it wasn’t starting (completely dead) so they needed to run more diagnostic. Have you ever had a situation like this? This car has always been maintained in a garage and has an excellent service history, and I’m the second owner of the vehicle, which is why I had it shipped to my home in the U.S. so I’m a bit perplexed as why this is occurring all of the sudden. Also the garage I us is a specialist garage that only deals with JLR products. Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Not sure if mentioned but if there are people delaying their coolant leak, and have subsequently filled their car with water, fix the problem asap. That coolant needs gone and replaced with something to withstand lower temps.
you are right man, its easy to change the bulb on this one. on my w221 Mercedes s600 on the drivers side its alright to change it if you remove the coolant expansion reservoir, but on the passenger side , because of the ABC fluid reservoir and how tight fit that big ass engine is in there you have to remove the bumper unfortunately.
Hi Sam, just picked up a 2010 TDV8 3.6 Vogue SE (my first RR) so been binge watching your videos. Given it's now been a few months, would you still recommend the LEDs for dipped beam over replacement HID bulbs?
Hi Phil, congrats on the new motor. I’d say they are a good upgrade - the light output vs a brand new HID is a minor improvement, but the LEDs won’t fade like the HIDs do in a relatively short time period. The last set of HIDs I fitted had noticeably dimmed after just 12 months.
Since these LEDs draw just as much power (actually a bit more!) than the standard bulbs, they’ll generate about the same amount of heat. Whether that’s enough to melt snow is down to the design of the headlight itself really.
@@SamsMotors those bulbs sound pretty sweet. I own a detailing company right outside Chicago and we see a lot of semi trucks. From talking to the owners, I know a lot of them stay away from LEDs specifically because they don’t produce enough heat to melt ice. It would be cool to see a comparison between LEDs and the original halogen bulbs during winter time on the Land Rover and heat output. You also mentioned in this video that you have a video on different bulbs, the light output and color temperature. Can you give us a link
Every single L322 seems to have that exact issue. Saying that everything Sam fixes iv more or less experienced on my car , the good thing is all historical problems , good garages know exactly what the issue is , I had an oil leak that killed the starter motor last week, the bloddy thing was only 5 months old 🙄
@SamsMotors Sam I had the same and not worth repairing it, it will just come back, I ended up searching for a rust free one, took a morning to swap over after it was painted. Electric cables are not as hard as everyone suggests.

Thanks 🙏. Yes still very happy with it. No issues at all so far with any of the work done. It was done by a friend here in Ireland who is a Celtic Tuning agent.
If fitted to a headlight which doesn’t control the beam properly, yes. E.g. fitting them to a headlight designed for a halogen bulb without a projector lens. Strictly speaking it would also be illegal to fit them to the L322 as it had HIDs originally, but as the headlight has a proper projector lens, it passes MOTs and doesn’t cause dazzling so is OK in reality.
I haven’t definitively traced the source but I think it is coming from the high pressure fuel pump (front right of the engine as you look at it) and seems to be a common issue/occurrence. Hasn’t gotten any worse in 2 years 🤷♂️
@@SamsMotors so you still have the clicking rattle noise? Just on start up? Or does it stay? I posted on Facebook and most said could be visco fan clutch common. Have you ever changed that since?
@@rickfranke4886 oh the viscous fan is a different noise, that’s a steady repeating click that comes and goes. No point in changing it as they do it from new supposedly.

@@torreyinnewyorkcity334 it’ll be great. 2007 should be the Jaguar 4.4 V8 (or 4.2 SC) engine, which is easily the best of the range for reliability. Mine’s now at around 215k miles, and while it’s not got that “Lexus infallibility” (I previously owned an LS400 that felt like it would outlast me) it has been very good in my ownership with only 1 actual breakdown at about 190k.
@@SamsMotors I went to the dealership went to the service department, and the kid was nice enough to pull all of the service records this dude had everything done to the car, whether needed it or not. There were in the dollar amount of that 3000 4000 5000 I could not believe he was spending that much money on service.
In the comparison the lights look warmer than your old ones (which I personally prefer), was that just the camera or how it looked IRL? Yeah they are fairly neutral in light temperature, which is nice. I may do so soon - I’ve got an awesome switch panel from Auxbeam that I need to fit and review soon too.
@@SamsMotorsI've been looking at those I must admit, I fitted some switches to the rear seat roof panel, which are just about reachable from the front-seat (the light beams triggered off the main beam as per yours, the switches are just to disable it for MOT purposes, or when the stone guards on). Be interested to see how the Auxbeam panel works though!

You can put freelander arch guards (LR001623), washer fluid and wiper rubbers. Have you tried silicone wipers? Curious if they are actually good.

Great video as always. The tailgates rust from the inside out, so by the time you see it it's usually too late! Might be time for a replacement :)

Try a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2. Improved fuel consumption, Mud and Snow rated and decent handling on a dry road. I use them Oct to May.
Why not all year round? They should be well suited to that.

No flickering issues at all - even on camera as you can see from the test footage.
Is that your 130 in the background Sam? Do you use it much over there?

Only thing about LED bulbs are they do not melt the snow off of your lenses. Im sticking with the original style bulbs great video though

Dipped / HID are "D3S" and the main / fill are "H7".

D3S is definitely compatible with the 2010-12 RR, eBay's parts compatibility list isn't very reliable.

@@SamsMotors I went to the dealership went to the service department, and the kid was nice enough to pull all of the service records this dude had everything done to the car, whether needed it or not. There were in the dollar amount of that 3000 4000 5000 I could not believe he was spending that much money on service.
I ordered those bulbs the moment the video ended. Going to replace the lens covers shortly, they're algea on the insides and they look disgraceful.

In the comparison the lights look warmer than your old ones (which I personally prefer), was that just the camera or how it looked IRL? Yeah they are fairly neutral in light temperature, which is nice. I may do so soon - I’ve got an awesome switch panel from Auxbeam that I need to fit and review soon too.
@@SamsMotorsI've been looking at those I must admit, I fitted some switches to the rear seat roof panel, which are just about reachable from the front-seat (the light beams triggered off the main beam as per yours, the switches are just to disable it for MOT purposes, or when the stone guards on). Be interested to see how the Auxbeam panel works though!

Re. Grille, I prefer it, it’s a bit simpler being all black rather than the slightly fiddly looking original. I think it’ll look better once I get my LED driving lights mounted up in front of it 😉
